This was a really interesting book on positional vertigo , accompanied with exercises to alleviate / heal BBPV.

While I thankfully don’t suffer from BBPV I found the information presented really clearly and simply enough to be able to follow through the exercises if ever required. I think this will be a helpful book to many .

BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) can be a constant annoyance or can come and go without warning. My first bout of BPPV came on suddenly and left just as suddenly six months later, leaving me mystified and confused and a little fearful of a relapse. It did come back a few months later, and fortunately, this time I was armed with Carol A. Foster's book, Overcoming Positional Vertigo. Foster does a great job of explaining things clearly and presenting actionable solutions in a straightforward and reassuring way.
If you suffer from occasional dizziness or a constant vestibular imbalance, the resources in this book are an excellent place to start or way to supplement physical therapy or other medical intervention.

Dr. Carol Foster has presented a valuable approach to living with BPPV. Combining her personal experience with superb medical acumen and a compassionate approach, the reader is provided with lucid explanations of the causes and effects of this condition, along with a common-sense series of safe maneuvers that offer relief to debilitating episodes of vertigo. Clear explanatory diagrams enhance the text, and Dr. Foster's innovative "half somersault" exercise enables relief from the unwelcome and unexpected occasions of dizziness and imbalance that BPPV imposes. For the many who suffer from this affliction, Dr. Foster's advice offers welcome and effective resolutions.

This book provided clean and concise information on positional vertigo. This topic may not be of the highest interest to some, but if they are reading solely based on circumstance, they will not be disappointed. The book provided interesting info.

This book is an outstanding review of the causes, treatment, and attempts at preventing recurrences of BPPV. It is written equally well for the practitioner as well as the lay person. Dr. Foster includes step by step guides to the various procedures used to treat occurrences of BPPV and reviews alternative explanations for vertigo that are oftentimes confused with BPPV. Lay people can easily skip parts about the history of BPPV diagnoses without missing out on the important self-help information. However, I highly recommend that everyone read the anatomical explanations so that they can visualize what is going on and how the interventions actually work to move the particles. I have read almost everything on BPPV, both the research and the self-help literature and must say that this is the best source for those who treat and those who suffer from BPPV.

I thought this was an informative and helpful book regarding vertigo. One of the things I appreciated was that the author herself suffered from vertigo and could really understand what it's like go through that, as a lot of people (fortunately) never know that feeling.

Dr. Carol Foster has written a very scholarly book that opens with "Vertigo is a worthy foe, and my aim is to end it."

If you've ever suffered a bout of vertigo, you know it can be debilitating. I was keen to read this book because I have had vertigo more than once and wanted to learn more about it and how to deal with it. The book details the causes of vertigo, various exercises and maneuvers to alleviate your symptoms, and provides tips to help prevent future recurrences. It is filled with loads of facts, figures, and information and is an ideal reference for anyone dealing with vertigo.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, or BPPV, is dizziness due to an unbalance or crystal movement in the inner ear. It can happen when you are sitting, walking or laying down and sometimes the dizziness is so bad that it makes one nauseous. The author, Carol Foster explains simple exercises that can be done at home to alleviate these attacks. They are simple exercises that can be done on your bed. There are also videos on Youtube which show exactly how to do them. No longer do you have to live with this debilitating dizziness and most cures can be done at home by the person themselves.

Having Ménière’s disease, I’m familiar with what BPPV is so was very interested in what updates as well as definitive explanations of vertigo and dizziness.
This book was very well written and thoroughly explained all the varying nuances of dizziness and other related issues. Unfortunately, much of the book was written more for physicians and other health care workers but only if they actually read the book. It might behoove ithr author to write a similar book more for patients and their caregivers. It would be very beneficial as a well-educated patient is more likely work with the doctor rather than to request drugs for something more easily done by exercises.

This book had some great exercises to help with positional vertigo. Unfortunately, my husband suffers from a different form of vertigo that's not addressed as in depth in this book. Regardless, I thought it had helpful tips for vertigo and other helpful suggestions. I appreciate the opportunity to read and review this!

I was in a car accident in July & one month later I started having severe vertigo spells. They are improving some over time or I am just getting used to being dizzy. My triggers are moving my head to the left & also tipping my head back. This book goes into a lot of detail about vertigo. The focus of this book is on BBPV vertigo. I found this book very interesting to read.

I was so glad to find this book as it is an informative book on this subject. I had this for over twenty years with no relief. Ten years ago I found a Physical Therapist that was able to assist me. I have tried to let friends about this treatment but to no avail. I am very glad to be able to recommend this book to everyone that there is a relief.to be found.
I would like to thank the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book, in exchange for an honest review.

I found this book to be informative and helpful. I have not tried any of the methods yet as my vertigo comes and goes. My Mother also suffers from Vertigo, so if she ever has a bad attack I wanted to be educated and have some helpful methods for her to try as well. It is very in depth explaining the inner ear workings and such and therefore is a little bit of dry reading but I learned and was mostly interested in the various methods explained. I would recommend this to anyone who has, or knows someone who has Vertigo, just to learn and be informed about the condition and possible treatment methods in the event of a severe attack.
