A cute little story with a predictable ending. It was a quick and easy read and was quite enjoyable.

This book was a very easy read and I instantly cared about these characters. I knew who the perpetrator was immediately, but I still had no idea why this person was taunting the characters. It still was a mystery book with a lot of twist and turns. Highly entertaining and didn't want to put it down.

I recommend this easy read. It makes you think, entertains you, and pulls at your heartstrings. You will enjoy it!

When I read the blurb, I basically thought this would be just the book for me!
Romance? Check.
Suspense? Check.
Meet-cute? Check.

Unfortunately, everything apart from the meet-cute fell flat to me.
Melanie and Finn just weren't likable characters to me. Melanie is so insecure, naive and far too trusting (she basically trusts everyone but Finn) and a bit of a grey mouse to be honest.
I liked Finn better, and even though I'm usually quick to fall in love with male lead characters, he just didn't do it for me. He was nice enough I guess, just nothing to write home about.
It's safe to say that when you put those two together, the sparks just weren't there in my opinion.

Now on to the "suspense". It annoyed me to no end how freaking long it took for them to find out who was behind everything! It was so obvious, I knew the moment that particular character was introduced. I feel like the suspense/mystery aspect could've been done a lot better as to make it more entertaining for the readers.

The story and the writing itself actually weren't bad, I just think Amy Reece could've done much more with it and made it a lot more exciting.

What I loved the most was Finn's family and the whole dynamic between them. I would probably read the rest of the series just for them.

Touching and suspenseful, this plot line will draw you in from the first few paragraphs. I really appreciate Amy Reece's ability to sketch interesting characters with real depth. Yes, the leading man is hot, but he isn't too perfect, and yes the leading lady is lovely, but she's also an introvert who has confidence issues. These characters are so much more than combustible chemistry. You really grow to care about them; they could be your neighbors down the road. The suspense is just the right amount, and the resolution is quite satisfying. I'm really glad to have been immersed in this story. I can't wait for more!

What a huge disappointment!
I really was about to DNF several times, but how it's a suspense romance I needed to know who was the "bad".

Hero: 2stars, and only because he was patient and sweet with heroine. He cheated on his last gf, he was condescending with heroine... Slut shaming here again

Heroine: 2 stars. Socially awkward, low self esteem..

Suspense: 2 stars... It could be a lot better... It seemed like author didn't know how to end the story.

I'd like to read about others siblings. They looked pretty interesting!

Watch Over was a book I wanted to love but honestly I didn't even finish and that is something very rare for me! I just could not get into the book for the life of me it was lacking so much depth and it felt like I already read it before so I just couldn't go on.

Any book that starts off by getting the hero and heroine to get together by leaving notes for one another under the collar of a cat that has adopted them has got to be onto a winner. I was inclined to enjoy this book from the first few pages for that very reason. Of course, it isn't long before the pair meet and what starts out as a friendship, develops into something more serious and lasting.

I liked the characters of both Finn and Melanie. Finn was very sweet, although he'd clearly had terrible taste in women in the past. Mel's taste hadn't been much better to be honest, with a bad relationship in her youth putting her off men altogether. Once they were together, it was clear that they belonged together.

There is a bit of a thriller/mystery theme to this storyline as well. With someone out there threatening Mel and putting her in danger. I liked this element of the story and I think that it added quite a bit to the overall read.

Unlike many contemporary romance books, much of the action in the bedroom was behind closed doors and off camera. It made a bit of a change to not have to cringe at some of the cliched euphemisms that often get dragged out.

Overall, I really enjoyed this read and was quite pleased to discover that it's actually the first in a series with at least two other books ready to read. I think that I'll be dipping into them soon.

I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

3.5 stars

Finn and Melanie are neighbors who meet through a stray cat. Their meet/greet happens through notes written by them from the cat’s perspective. They finally meet in person and the weird starts to happen when Mel acquires a stalker.

I loved the first part of the story. The notes were cute and full of personality, and made for an interesting meet/greet. Once Melanie and Finn officially meet though, Mel regressed into an immature youth and I started to struggle with the story. Her constant self doubts wore me out fairly quick, especially since Finn hadn’t given her any reason to doubt his interest in her. For his part, Finn gets a medal for how long Mel dragged out her insecurities without talking to him. Their chemistry was nice with the sex scenes mainly closed door, but it was hard to be totally pulled in because of Melanie’s constant self-berating.

The supporting cast was my favorite part. Finn’s family was boisterous, nosey, and loving, creating happy chaos whenever one appeared, and I look forward to seeing them get their own HEAs!

The stalker was obvious, however the why did stump me a bit. When it was all revealed however, it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. It was more twisted then I expected it to be, but did make for a crazy wrap up.

Overall, the story was good. A little choppy and repetitive in some areas, but for the most part, the plot sailed smoothly. I would continue the series to see if Finn’s siblings meet their own matches.

A sexy cop and a woman with too much time on her hands leads to an intriguing story filled with romance and danger. I had great fun reading this book, it was good to see a cop already beat up by the job (to a degree) before getting embroiled deeper in a romance and a case that had you wondering what would happen next. Well worth a read and i would be interested to read the authors other books at some point

I really enjoyed Watch over by Amy Reece. It was a romantic suspense/cop meets girl almost next door with some fun moments, The playful start with the cat was cute, and I loved Finn's family. The chemistry was great between Finn and Melanie, and there was no dull moments in the book. I am definitely going to keep reading this series! I received an ARC for an honest review from Netgalley.

Melanie Blythe has a past and consequently likes to keep to herself she is quite happy with her career and writing her books but when a cat keeps coming to visit via her dog door she is intrigues. She places a collar and a message on the cat so begins her banter with her neighbour two doors down. When he informs her he has a broken leg she goes to visit to see if he needs anything. Finn DeLuca is a detective and is instantly attracted to Melanie but it doesn't take any detective skills to work out he will have to go slow if he wants any relationship with her to say she is gun shy is an understatement. Now with odd occurrences happening in her life and the danger escalating it will be up to Finn to keep her safe and during this time she will have to learn to trust him. There are plenty of twists and turns with Melanie stalker keeping the reader enthralled till the very last page I highly recommend this book

I was given a copy of this book but this is true and honest review

A cute and entertaining meet between the main characters, two adorable pets, a bit of suspense. Overall nice story.

Watch Over by Amy Reece combines romance & thriller themes in an intricately wound web. Melanie is a shy and introverted author who works from home, Finn is an injured police officer combined to his home & CJ is a feisty cat who is intent on getting the two together.

I really enjoyed this book as it was a great balance of thriller and romance. Both characters were charming and easy to love. The 'bad guy' in this story could have had a bit more of a lead in/development as it seemed to come from something so simple.

Fans of Thrillers/Romance will love this book. Easy to read and easily read in one setting it left me with a feeling of contentment once I finished it.

This is a pure romance book. It is well written story that flows easily. From a budding romance to mystery this book contains many elements that work together.

To be perfectly honest I didn't finish this book. The writing is choppy and disjointed. It's almost difficult to follow. They're sad no character development and the story had no flow. As cutesy as the writing is it makes the cover totally not match.

Melanie Blythe, a graphic artist and loner, has a feline visitor each morning. One morning the cat shows up with a witty, charming note attached to its collar. It's from Melanie's neighbor, Finn, a detective who is home on leave recovering from an accident. She learns that the cat visits him each afternoon and evening and they begin passing notes via cat collar. Their banter gets cuter and cuter and eventually they meet and sparks fly.

Only someone is watching and someone seems to hate Mel. Who is it? Why? And what will they do next?

Finn's boisterous, loving, funny family is a complete bonus and I am so glad that there will be more DeLuca Family adventures to follow.

Thanks to Netgalley and Amy Reece for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
