When Libby’s boyfriend dumps her for her boss, she decides to buy a decrepit chicken farm in Lackaduck, Wyoming.

Luke Rawlins, the cowboy neighbor, tries to smoothly catch her eye, but he has competition from the local sheriff, Cash McIntyre.

I don’t know. I didn’t much care for this one. I have enjoyed some of Author Joanne Kennedy’s previous books, but this one, unfortunately not-so-much. It had potential… an “ok” plotline (new chic moves into town, decides she needs to solve an unsolved murder), and I liked the description of the setting. However, I always felt like Libby was disconnected and annoying. Luke was an ok character, but for the most part, all the rest of the characters were meh. I don’t know…I finished reading it, but it wasn’t really easy. I felt like Libby never trusted any of the people in town, was always suspicious, and then all of a sudden her and Luke were kind of an item. I wish I could have liked it more, but for me it was a 3 star rating.

A great mystery with lovely characters and a lot of animals. Libby starts her life all over in Wyoming with chicken farm and by writing for a local newspaper. There is an old unsolved crime and Libby is decided to solve it because hey she is a reporter. Of course, there isn't missing hot cowboys, crazy town member, ex-junkie, motorbikers, sheriff and extravagant females all wrapped in a solving cold case. The story is funny and tragic and I liked how it develops. I just got the feeling that Libby was a little bit naive, or the writer wanted us to lead on the false track. I liked that it was unexpected and that end with HEA.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Cowboy Trouble by Joanne Kennedy was an entertaining story, yet not your typical cowboy gets the girl love story. There is plenty of humor, wit, romance, fun, and mystery packed into this read along with adorable rescue dogs and a wild, crazy chicken named Wild Thing to add to your enjoyment. The characters are likeable and the storyline is well-paced and easily holds your attention. Overall, a great read!

Cowboy Trouble by Joanne Kennedy was an enjoyable story. It was a different kind of love story that had humor, intrigue, suspense, and of course romance through out the story and moved at a steady pace. The author's writing style works for me as she grabs me with her stories and makes it hard to put the book down. Luke and Libby's characters were well developed and worked well together. I loved the location and all the other characters in this story. I recommend the story and the author.

Lackaduck, Wyoming has been a hopping place since Libby moved to town. She bought the old Lackaduck farm, uh sorry, ranch! Now she’s decided to raise chickens and maybe other four -legged animals. Darn but she had to go and meet her good-looking neighbor and then the handsome sheriff and the two crazy men started fighting over her! Speaking of crazy, how about the three Mikes in town, add a bundle of other town folk and you have the recipe for lots of fun! This book has it all! Mystery, murder, love, a herd of pups and lots of zany fun make this book a four star winner for me!

I read this book years ago and forgot, just read it again as it was offered by Netgalley. I just don't like the characters, maybe Luke but even he was pushy at first. I guessed who the bad guy was, but thought maybe it was too obvious and the author is setting me up for a surprise..nope. Parts of the story were entertaining and I still completed the book.

I was looking forward to this book, since it was a new author for me, and lately , I have read a few cowboy stories which I loved.
Sadly, this one did not measure up to my expectations.
Was it entertaining , sort of, but was it memorable, no.
It was easy to determined who the villain was and at times I just skipped pages to get through the book.
The main female Libby, was exhausting while Luke, the neighbor was the one that saved the story.
All that said , I will give the book a 3 stars rating, since I realize authors spend a grea deal of time, and effort in a very lonely trade.
Also know that this is a re-issue.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This book had a lot of stories going on at one time. Libby Brown is escaping a bad romance by settling down in a small Wyoming town. She isn't looking for a new romance, but her neighbor just might change her mind. Overall this story was ok. It felt like there were a lot of loose ends that weren't quite answered. The romance in this book between Libby and Luke was lacking and seemed to be rushed at the very end of the book.

Overall I really enjoyed this one. A little snarky, a little scary, a little funny, a little romantic all rolled into one. Libby has left the big city to move to the middle of no-where Wyoming. Hunky Luke is her neighbor, and is always around to help protect her. Hard to put this one down, and gave me plenty of chuckles. Highly recommend, just wish a bit more on the why there was a romance, more on the sparks would help. Would give 4.5.

3.5 stars - I really liked the way Ms. Kennedy writes. The storyline was okay, the plot moves steadily forward & the narrative was at times witty, funny & sarcastic. The suspense added another dimension. Even though you could probably figure out “who dun it”, you weren’t sure how the author was going to get there. The characters were well developed & fit their place in the drama. Overall, this was a pleasant story to read.

Luke comes off as an overly good guy. Meaning, too good to be true. Libby has a lot of choices to make in this book. She doesn't always choose wisely. I enjoyed, Cowboy Trouble.

I was bored, bored couldn't get past annoying Libby, I liked Luke but what the heck did he see in Libby?.I personally did not understand, and I like Cowboys and love mysteries but this one was ridiculous and she was idiotic, I did try I picked up and put down and picked up again, but atleast there was nothing that was going to hold my interest..

This book was really good. It had humor, romance and suspense.

The suspense of the book was told in a way that at different times EVERYONE seemed like the guilty party. That part was really fun to read. The "who done it" aspect. I was amazed at how strong Libby was. Alone on her farm and with everything going on, I would have found a hotel in town I think.

I really liked the character of Luke. He really was a good guy. He was loyal and really seemed to care about Libby from day one.

My only real issue with this book and why I rated this book 4 stars had to do with the parts concerning Luke and Cash. The writing in this book was done very well. However when it got to the parts concerning the guys, it felt like their age almost decreased. I know the author was going for neither of the guys trying to put that much pressure on Libby and wondering where she stood with the other male, but it seems almost juvenile.

Otherwise, I really liked this book.

Luke is quite the charmer, “got it.” Luke straightened up and gave her a long look. “So are you gay or heartbroke?” Luke appreciates that his girl is unique, “see? You’re definitely not like other girls.” He stepped inside. “You get excited about farming and murder.” The man doesnt like being away from his girl too long, “okay,” he said. “How’bout an hour? I miss you like crazy.” I liked this book, I liked Luke.

Libby moves from Atlanta to Wyoming after her boyfriend dumps her for her boss. She is hurting and eager to start her life over. She finds a job as a reporter for a small newspaper and gets involved in investigating a missing person’s case that law enforcement has failed to solve. There is romance and drama in this book with quirky characters. I read this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. When Libby decides to pack up and move out West little did she know she would stumble upon a cold murder case. The journalist in her could not let that go and she started to investigate.

While she starts her investigation she also two men vying for her attention. One of those men may not be who he seems but can she figure out which one she should trust before time is up?

Great suspense in this book however I knew who Was behind the murder a quarter of the way in. Libby also seemed a bit flighty for me. I finished the book because I enjoyed Luke’s character. He seemed a bit more mature than some of the other men.

Her latest love-life disaster behind her, Libby Brown flees to the Wyoming countryside to fulfill a childhood dream by starting her own chicken farm from scratch. Having a sturdy and sexy cowboy next door is sure to stir trouble and sparks fly when Luke Rawlins helps the down in the dumps heroine move into her new ranch. Just when Libby thought her life couldn't be more complicated, a mystery from the past soon threatens their new bond and tests their love in ways Luke and Libby never could have imagined.

With that being said, I have read my fair share of Western Romance stories but this wasn't even on par with them. The story was lacking, the writing style seems off to me and the characters were dull and boring. As this is the first series I have read from Joanne Kennedy, I am terribly disappointed. There just wasn't any driving me to finished this series and it was quickly dropped by chapter 5 at 20%.
