HarperCollins and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Schoolgirl Missing. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

Neve has become a mother to her 14 year old stepdaughter Poppy, but she yearns to have a baby of her own. Despite the fact that her husband Kit has been adamant about bringing another child into the world, will Neve take steps to ensure the future that she wants?

I had a hard time writing this review, as I felt no connection to the characters or their story. Neve's convoluted past does not mesh with the woman that the author serves up at the beginning of the book, making the plot twist seem there mainly to move the story along. The marriage between Kit and Neve is strained from the start. The author does not offer up a family that readers can either relate to or have strong positive feelings for, which results in a book that just meanders along. The story of a missing child usually brings about feelings of anxiety and dread, but the lack of an emotional connection to any of the characters gave me none of those aforementioned feelings. For these reasons, I would not recommend Schoolgirl Missing to other readers.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book by Sue Fortin - my first by the author. I will definitely be reading more too. I found it to be interesting, with characters that you will love to hate. I love when you get characters that evoke a reaction whether its of adoration or disdain..
I thought I would be able to predict what would happen but I found myself pleasantly surprised as I was not always right at all , the twists and turns of the book kept me intrigued throughout.
It's a gripping, suspense filled read that I recommend for fans of the genre.

What a great cover. Plenty of twists and turns in this book. however, in all honesty, I wasn't overwhelmed with the characters. I also found the pace a little slow. Still a good read and Sue .Fortin is a fabulous writer.

A great read, although I initially struggle to empathise with the characters, finding them a little 2 dimensional, however it is worth carrying on - a thoroughly enjoyable, yet disturbing read.

I have been wanting to read this book for a while and the cover definitely caught my attention. It is a story full of twists, turns and definitely unexpected, shocking outcomes. I would never have guessed at all. Very cruel and devious. Full of secrets, lies and deceit.

An easy to read, fast paced thriller and mystery. Kit and Neve are as bad as each other! I actually loved Jake and Lucies characters. Jake didn’t deserve what happened to him. A real page turner of a read… I found myself getting very angry towards the end and outcome I just don’t understand how someone could do that to Poppy for their own sake… Poor Poppy my heart was with her the whole time.

I awarded four stars and would highly recommend.

This book was a little predictable in my opinion. That being said I did like it. The perspective of what the "outside" sees and the image portrayed - vs - what is really going on inside a family was great. It unfolded well if a little obvious.

Another cracking and suspenseful book from Sue Fortin, who kept me guessing throughout.

Initially I thought I could predict everything, but then realised the set up would be too predictable if I was correct and I'm delighted to say that it became really hard to guess the truth the whole way through.

The more I got to know Neve and Kit the less I liked them, I felt fro them that Phoebe had gone missing, but I much preferred Phoebe to her parents.

She is a rather vulnerable young adult, with learning difficulties, so the fact she disappeared was rather worrying.

Oddly I was more eager to work out how / why than actual concern for her.

This was a story with many layers to it, all sorts of unsavoury seemingly normal people, and it became rather addictive towards the end.

Another incredibly gripping story from one of my favourite suspense authors,

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Neve and Kit have been married for a long time and she is a stepmom to 14 year old Poppy who has special needs. She loves Poppy like her own but longs for her own child, though Kit who lost Poppy’s mom at childbirth is not keen . In order to get over their differences they decide to spend a weekend on their boat but Poppy goes missing in the night and neither of them can remember what happened . While Kit is trying to find Poppy he comes across Neve’s past and he realizes that her past mistakes may have finally come back to haunt them.

Schoolgirl missing by Sue Fortin is a fast paced psychological thriller .A little predictable with unlikable characters and though I have enjoyed the authors other books this one was a little too unrealistic for me

I would like to thank Harper Collins , HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

This is the first novel I have ever read by Sue Fortin and I really enjoyed it. It was fast paced and kept me interested right to the very end. The main character Neve has had a traumatic past and unfortunately this is overshadowing her future with her husband Kit. I will definitely be reading more books by this author in the future!

Sue Fortin has become one of my favorite authors as of recent. Her writing style flows along easily, even with broken up time lines and/or character view points. Her description of the characters in SGM are clear and even if you don’t like them it’s still easy to have a connection with them. The parents are quite unlike able and that makes the reader feel all the more for Poppy. Loved the plot and although it gets off to a somewhat slow start I just had to keep reading to see how it ended. Looking forward to reading more by this author. Thank you to Netgalley for my ARC.

Few authors are brave enough to write a story where the main characters are irritating and not very likable. But they fit this story perfectly. Sue Fortin has taken the readers inside a troubled marriage then set the scene for them to have to work together to solve the mystery. Great story line with great character development.

I absolutely loved this book. It is the first book that I have read by this author, but it certainly won’t . It had me hooked from page 1. The book is split into three parts and I found myself eagerly racing through each part to try and find out what happened to Poppy. I found the characters likeable and easy to connect with. The book was gripping and was a great psychological thriller, I cannot recommend this book enough,

Thank you to net galley for my ARC in exchange for an honest review

This is my first Sue Fortin book and it certainly won’t be my last

Neve and Kit are the main characters and you will love to hate them they are just awful selfish self-indulgent idiots to be honest

Their daughter Poppy gets kidnapped - Neve is more dodgy than any politician and Kit is just a horrible moron if I were their daughter I would be praying to never get rescued

It does have a twist however I did guess it as it’s slightly predictable

I am interested in reading more of this author to see what else she can do

It’s a good book for a horrible rainy day to curl up with

Holy Smokes. That's all I can say to start this review off with. Sue Fortin is a new-to-me author. I was browsing for some thriller novels to review and saw the cover of this one. It caught my eye. So, I proceeded to do something I don't often do. That's read the blurb. I read the blurb, dropped my jaw, sent it to my Kindle and devoured it. I don't mean I devoured it in one sitting. It was through a few sittings. Because with this book, I had to keep stopping to process all that I read, to pick the bones, so to speak.

This isn't your normal psych thriller. This is so much more. Poppy, Neve, Kit, and all the other characters that come to light in this story will have your heart pounding, your hands sweaty and your seat tipping from being on the edge of it for so long through the story. This is a story about a family. Not an ordinary family. A family full of secrets. A family that takes a trip, and has the unexpected happen, and only one person in this book, knows the absolute truth of what happened to Poppy.....and why.

Just when I thought I had it figured out, just when I thought I knew who was getting their way in the story, Fortin through another twist and left me back pedaling to figure it out all over again. That's the kind of writing that makes a phenomenal thriller novel. So many peaks, only to have so many twists thrown at you to leave you wondering just what exactly is going on and who did it.

By the end of this 5 star thriller, I was ready for another. This book is filled with intensity like I haven't read in a while. It is, by far, one of the best books I've read this year. If you are looking for a novel that will make you sweat, make you mad, make you turn the pages long into the night, then I highly recommend this novel. This is an author who has quickly made me a fan and I absolutely can not wait until another intricately written novel is released by her. Well done, Fortin!

*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Harper Collins, NetGalley and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.*

I enjoyed Schoolgirl Missing. I liked the characters but found the plot to be slow at points. Overall it was a decent read but not one that I will remember.

I received an ARC from Netgalley of Schoolgirl Missing. I tried really hard to love this book. I give it three stars because the beginning captured my interest, but it waned after Poppy went missing. Things got a little confusing after that. There were very few likable characters in this book. Neve and Kit became less likable as the story went on. Kit doesn't want to have more children and Neve's focus is on changing his mind. Poppy is a 14 year old girl with special needs who goes missing. Neve's dark past comes back to haunt her. The second half of the book was disappointing. I felt like the story never really came together all of the way.
