A good rom-com, not my kind of funny through.

The start of the book was dull and slow. The characters were all over the place. Jen was not compelling enough and I did not like the fact that she cheated. Lydia was the standout character and I wish this were her love story rather then Jen's. I did like the fact that Jen did not give up on her passion and the in the end she got her HEA.

This book was sent by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review and all opinions are my own.

I thought this was going to be along the same lines as a lot of other rom-coms. I was pleasantly surprised by the differences.

Jen has been responsible for the care of her younger sister since a horrific accident had left them without their parents. Because of this Jen has become a chronic over planner and is stuck in a rut with her ‘nice’ yet predictable boyfriend Robert.

While on her hens do Jen falls into a canal and is rescued by a tall blonde stranger who she feels an instant connection to. Can Jen break free of the micro managed world she has created for herself and open her heart to follow her passion?

I absolutely loved the cover of this book and that’s why I picked it up and it didn’t disappoint AT ALL.

I love coming across authors I have never read before. Pernille Huges pulled me in with Probably the Best Kiss in the World. This was a fun feel good rom com.

Jen is raising her little sister after a tragic accident took their parents and left her sister disabled. Her boyfriend Robert helps keep her stable. She is stuck in a rut. She doesn’t know what to do when he proposes.

Jen needs to find out what will make her happy. Is it the dependable Robert the one for her? This was a relatable fun rom com and I can’t wait to read more form this author.

A cute RomCom with quirky characters. A bit slow at the beginning, but eventually it grows on you. The book is every bit charming as it promised.

This book was received as an ARC from Harper Impulse and Killer Reads - One More Chapter in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

When I first looked into this book, I thought it was going to be your typical teen romance novel where the guy ends up with the girl at the end. This book was that but it went a different path than your average teen romance novel. First off a night with the girls turned into a life or death situation. Falling in love with the guy who rescues you and almost stay out of touch, then your boyfriend proposes to you sets up a brand new life for you in his mind and all you want is to be happy and have you write the ending to your life and make new memories and not live by what happens in the past.

We will consider adding this title to our Romance collection in our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Just like Tiffanie in "Sweatpants at Tiffanie's", who inherits a boxing gym, the heroine in Pernille Hughes next book is exploring a rather male-dominated field of activity. Her hobby, no, her passion, is brewing craft beer. On a small scale, but still. Although I'm interested in neither brewing nor even drinking any beer, home-made or not, I liked this plotline a lot. Maybe also because I liked Jen so much. And her sister Lydia. And of course Yakub, too!

I was totally on Lydias side from the very beginning and wanted Jen to see what everyone else is seeing: Robert is not right for her! He is not a bad guy, not even when he wants to make a housewife and mother out of Jen with a more 'womanly' hobby like playing Bridge with his Mumsie. He is just not right for her because she doesn't love him one bit!

But unlike all the readers, Jen cannot accept this fact so easily, not even when handsome Yakub enters the scene. Not even when she experiences the 'probably best kiss in the world' with said 'boat hottie'!

On the other hand: the book would have been over way too soon if she would have 'followed the passion' right away. So instead we get 400 pages of an awesome story with happy and also melancholy moments, with a wonderful meet cute, a gorgeous guy and even a trip to Copenhagen (where I would have liked to 'see' more than only the beer museum)!

A somewhat typical Rom-Com that was full of fun and quirky characters.

Quite enjoyed this RomCom. It wasn't as laugh-out-loud as promised on the cover as there were a lot of instances when I just wanted to slap the MC with the book. She was so stubborn and obnoxious sometimes. My personal favourite character was the MC's sister Lydia.

Just fabulous. For once, the link to other authors isn’t a lie - there is something very Mhairi MacFarlane about the writing here.

Moments of humour and a storyline I couldn’t put down. The characters are all very believable. I will be definitely keeping an eye out for more from this author.

Sweet and fun but a bit difficult to get into in the beginning but as the story progressed it grew on me. Had a wonderful and enjoyable time while reading this.

Special thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for this review copy.

Jen is a list-maker that hasn't got time for romance films, holiday flings, and people who tell her to relax. So when she ends up engaged (she never did technically say yes) and on a make-shift hen-do in Copenhagen, the last thing she expects after every beer brewster's dream come true trip to a beer museum, is to end up over the side of a boat and onto the boat of a smokin' hot Dane...and to have probably the best kiss in the world from said Dane...whilst engaged, you will remember.

So begins the story of Jen reconciling her position in her sister Lydia's life and reconciling what she's actually feeling verses what her lists are telling her to do.

This was so sweet. While Jen can be annoyingly thick have a martyr complex without even realising it, she's real. There are women exactly like her, so she's very believable. She's supported by a wonderful squad who have got her back and can also give it to her straight. Everyone needs a squad like that. There was some quality character development in Jen. The romance was absolutely present but took a side seat to Jen discovering her purpose, discovering the proper place in her relationship with her sister, and learning that trusting your heart and relinquishing control and the ability to plan is okay for real life just as much as it's okay in the films. Not having the romance front and centre made it all the more sweet when we got to have Jakob back on the pages.

Probably the Best Kiss in the World is probably the sweetest romance and self-discovery story I've read in a long time. Thank you NetGalley, Pernille Hughes, and Harper Impulse publishers for the opportunity to read and review.

What the heck is a brewster? Read Probably The Best Kiss In The World for an answer. It's a story about the struggle to not be a control freak. Let it go! Let it go! Jen, the heroine, does the letting go of a job, a guy. Jen is a puzzling character. One on hand, I'm sympathetic about her situation and what she's trying to do. But, on the other hand--actually, if I'm being honest, I want to use this hand to slap her. Jen has annoying tendencies to say the least. The brewing and beer part of the story of Jen's life is really interesting and totally unique. Denmark is a spectacular setting, and I loved everything about it. As romcoms go, this one is in the middle. It's a cute fun story with unique aspects. But, it's not my favorite either, although I did enjoy it. I'm just saying I have read some I liked better, and I think it's simply a matter of personal preference. Overall, I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys romcoms. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn't make it to the end of this one. I tried to at least make it to the event of the title, but I didn't make it that far. The main character was grating and the pace was plodding.

Such a good story! Definitely one to read on the beach, by the pool or anywhere. Such a sweet story of growing up and finding yourself.

A very good read and one I can highly recommend to others.
I could not put this down.
Thoroughly enjoyable with an amazing cast of characters that you cannot help but engage with.

This is a super cute book about Jen letting go – letting go of her odd-ball-really-not-that-into-you fiancé, letting go of her weird but salary-paying job to do what she really loves, and letting go of the enormous responsibility she feels towards her sister. During this process, she finds love and a shared passion in a most unexpected place: a canal in Copenhagen.

The only thing that nagged me throughout the book was that Jen came across as having fights to pick with everybody. Rightly so, maybe, as she had been put through the wringer of life, but I sometimes wished she would back off. I loved the settings and the beer-making and how Jen slowly but surely became true to herself. The romance is thinly scattered through the book – the hero, I think, presents himself only three or four times – but it works out very happy in the end.

A fun read to enjoy with a pint or two, obviously. Thank you Netgalley and HarperImpulse for this great read. Loved the cover!!!

I enjoyed this book very much. I really liked the characters and the story line. It was obvious the author did a great deal of research regarding making craft beers, but maybe all of that did not need to be included. It kind of slowed the story down at times, but overall, this was a good read.

Despite finding Jen incredibly annoying at times, I loved this book. Jen is a super practical control freak but after meeting a charismatic Dane while on her hen-do in Copenhagen, she begins to see there is more to life than her lists and making the sensible choice.

Funny, quirky and uplifting, Probably the Best Kiss in the World is a perfect Summer read.
