great start to this new series!
I dont usually read sports romances, but when I do, I always seem to enjoy them. This one was without a doubt amazing. I loved the characters and plot.
I cannot wait to read more!

Such a refreshing, fun, romantic read. Sometimes you just need a book that makes you feel good and believe in love- and this fun adventure is absolutely that. At times witty and humorous, at times more serious, this book had me hooked from page one. Watching Mackenzie and Slade fall for each other and learn to trust as they overcame past relationships and life strife was at times sweet, at times frustrating (in a fantastic way) and all of the time swoon worthy. I loved this book and had such a fun time reading it. I can't wait for more from Van Dyken!

Oh my gosh! This book has it all! It made me laugh out loud (seriously, don't try to read it in a public place....!), made me cry and swoon and angry and....did I mention that it made me swoon? And I might have cheered Slade on once in a while, like, let's say - when he ...discussed... something with Mack's ex for example.

Slade and Mack are so amazing together! Never perfect, but perfectly imperfect and simply amazing. Their chemistry is off the charts and I just love the bumpy road that leads them to each other. It's not easy when you live in the spotlight and when both partners have been hurt before. Despite that, they manage to overcome every (and everyone) standing in their way, separating them. When worst comes to worst, they jump together as true partners should.

"Risky Play" is once again a wonderful story, beautifully written and with amazing characters, that'll draw you in from the first páge on and won't let you go till you 've read the very last word.
I really loved this book and can't wait, once again, for the next book by this amazing, talented author!

**4.5 Stars**

This story was 100% entertaining. I could not put it down. It evoked just about every kind of emotion out of me. It was sad, funny, thoughtful, sexy, angsty, and just overalp engaging. It had a wild fling/ enemies to lovers/ second chances vibe, and definitely a happily ever after. It was also chock full of some serious drama.

I enjoyed both Mack and Slade as the main characters. They both seemed realistic and I thought they had great chemistry. Slade was a bit of a jerk, but also seriously alpha hot. I am intrigued by some of the other characters in the book and wonder if Jagger will have his own book in the series. I definitely look forward to reading more in this series.

Risky Play is a great start to this new series by Rachel Van Dyken. She has begun an adventure in the world of soccer and could not be more excited about it. Slade and Mackenzie are a match made in heaven and fill the pages with amazing sarcasm as the both are grieving and trying to find themselves after huge life altering events. Sports and romance are paired perfectly and will be enjoyed through the last page.

Two people find themselves on a plane with engine failure. 6 months ago, Mackenzie was left at the alter, without much explanation. Slade is still mending after his fiancee gets knocked up by his best friend. So, when the oxygen masks drop in the plan and Slade asks Mack "What one thing do you regret?" she kisses him. This begins the dramatic, and quite hilarious, romance of Mack and Slade. Slade is a professional soccer player, with a chip on his shoulder, and Mack is a wine taster/debutante with a mouth that could make a sailor blush and wit faster than an F1 racecar. They are a brilliant couple- and there's plenty of dramedy to keep your interest.

The only negative things I have to say about this book is that sometimes the dialogue seems a bit juvenile, like when Slade and Jagger are bantering back and forth, they never miss a "ball" joke. And, sometimes I got annoyed with how Mack allowed Slade to treat her. I understood why he was a douchebag, but sometimes it was over the top and she would just run back to him like a puppy. I would have kicked him in his damn balls!

Overall, I would give this book a solid 3 stars. It kept me entertained and I finished it rather quickly.
