I was so excited to read this, but I ending up not finishing it. I couldn't find a character worth reading about. There just wasn't anything to draw me in.

For fear of sounding judgmental, I have raked my brains trying to describe this book in the nicest way. But, I'm going to be honest. I did not enjoy reading The Duke and the Deadbeat. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't connect with the characters, or because I found some scenes to be deeply uncomfortable to read. I had an issue with the story with how it didn't really delve into anything. Seamus and Duke's stories felt very shallow and the solutions to their conflicts very predictable and not at all convincing.

I love rock star romances and I was intrigued by the blurb, but I just cannot read this. In the bit I read, Duke masturbated on stage during a show in an attempt to leave fame and so many mentions of casual sexual encounters and ejaculating during concerts and it running down his leg, or something. It was really awkward to read.

The little bit of Seamus I saw he seems to have an interesting background, but again it’s several mentions of masturbation and genitalia. This is not something I’m really comfortable reading and will have to pass.
