I really enjoyed Rachel and Matt's story - however I feel like the read was to short for me- I would have liked more.

Rachel Pryce went to high school with genius Matt Harris. They meet up again 20 years later when Rachel is the architect on a community center design in their old neighborhood through a grant company called Re-up. Matt has agreed to be the intermediary to support the interest of the neighborhood. Something is not right with deal when people in the neighborhood abruptly pack up and leave without talking to anyone. Rachel and Matt work together to prove that Re-up is a mafia style company that will do anything for their own agenda.

Rachel is pretty darn boring me, she is taking the juice outta the story, but I have to say she has guts and a backbone. This is more like a mystery with a few veins of love mixed in. Max seems to be the stalwart of the community who respects cares and love his neighborhood and neighbors. To get themselves involved with a scam realtor business was something Rachel and Lily were not looking for, but thrust in with the worms they had to find a way out. These ladies are hardcore and full of integrity, a love story with a difference. I like the mix with the mystery truly makes this book interesting.

Short read set in the neighbourhood Rachel and Matt grew up in. Although I enjoyed reading this, it did feel like you didn't get to know the characters very well..

I was really drawn to this novel by the description and the creative cover. I love smart women who meet their match in an attractive genius. While this novel had potential, I was distracted by the awkward phrasing the author often used. Like "You get what you design for" or "gave her a smile of knowing". Poor sentence structure that took from the flow of the story.

The characters were interesting. I liked that Rachel pursued her interest in architecture and that Mat turned out to be a wealthy and generous man. I didn't care too much for the constant reminder that he was a "boy genius". We got that by seeing his success.
Not a bad story just needs revision and more sexual heat between the heroes.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
