As always, Carson's scholarship of the New Testament serves to demonstrate just how unsearchable are the depths of wisdom to be found in Scripture. His insights are profound, consistent with the overarching biblical narrative, and speak powerfully into how I live my life as a faithful disciple in the kingdom of Jesus Christ. I particularly love whenever Carson speaks to how the New Testament draws on the Old; bringing fuller meaning and revealing things that were hidden, but now revealed and fulfilled in the person of Jesus. This book is immensely practical, and will not simply inform, but excite the Christian reader into just how amazing grace is, and precisely what our response to that grace looks like today.

Word of warning: this book is not to be read if you don’t want to be challenged, if you’re not opened for self evaluation.
The author beautiful brings to light Jesus’ authority and genuine love, which is just, not naive. When confronted with this truth, what can we do but surrender to the only Holy One who we are called to imitate but from who we fall very short.
Blessed are those who live by grace!
