I had never heard of this author but I am so glad I stumbled upon this truly lovely story. I really enjoyed the plot itself, as well as all the characters and found the authors writing to be mesmerizing. I really enjoyed how the author is able to take us from the setting of California, into the vast setting of Scotland effortlessly. I truly enjoyed reading this amazingly sweet love story and getting to read a new to me author.

Heart Full of Stars is a sweet warm romance story. A woman flees America because of a scandal. She goes to Scotland for a job. Enter hot guy, adorable daughter, and you know the rest. It's a fast entertaining read but nothing remarkable.

Heart Full Of Stars – Linda Govik

I received this book as an advance reader copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.
Darcy Clarke is a renowned marriage counselor to the stars, who’s world comes crashing down one morning, as her boss tosses a newspaper in her direction. On the front page, she sees herself locked in an embrace with one of her clients, Hollywood star Greg Cantrell. She is immediately fired, and soon begins the vile messages and death threats by fans, along with incessant hounding by the press. Greg will no longer take her calls and Darcy feels the need to get out of town for a while. While perusing job ads, Darcy’s friend finds a job listing for a personal trainer at Kinnamuir Castle, an Inn of sorts in Lochdarroch, Scotland. Intrigued, and with nothing to lose, Darcy interviews for and accepts the position.

Arriving in Scotland, Darcy takes the pseudonym of Daisy Collins, in the hopes that no one recognizes her from her internationally publicized mishap. She settles into the castle with its brooding and ornery owner, Aiden McAllister and his bubbly young daughter Poppy. As she gets to know the castle and its occupants, she quickly comes to realize that Aiden is perilously close to losing his castle, as he cannot compete with newer resorts that have opened nearby. As she and Aiden put their heads together in an effort to save his castle, they also begin to fall for one another, much to Poppy’s dismay.

As plans for a grand re-opening continue, Poppy has her own little surprise for opening night – she’s discovered just who Daisy really is, and invites none other than Greg Cantrell to the castle re-opening… Will Darcy return to the man she once loved? Or will she remain in Scotland, with the man and the love that she’s just discovered??

This was a super sweet and well written love story! As romance is not my typical genre, I think I loved it even more! A wonderful, tug-at-the-heartstrings story! I hope that we have the chance to re-visit Aiden and Darcy in another story!

Govic takes readers from beautiful, warm Southern California to the beautiful, but vastly different Scottish Highlands. Govic paints a beautiful backdrop for the story and the characters are well defined. Aiden has a mystery from the past that will not let him move forward with new romance. Darcy has moved from the United States to take a job because her life was in disarray after an affair with a client.

Will they be able to move forward together in love, or will the past prove too difficult to overcome? Will they be able to work together to save the family castle?

I enjoyed the emotional story and the cast of characters. I recommend this book to fans of the contemporary romance genre.

Darcy Clarke violated perhaps the most important ethical rule of her profession as a marriage counselor. She had an affair with the husband of a high profile couple she was counseling. Once it became public, she lost her job and home. It was time to start over. Letting her best friend apply for a job for her as a Bed and Breakfast yoga instructor, Darcy is surprised she is hired. This is not just any job. She leaves California and travels to Kinnamuir Castle in Lochdarroch, Scotland. What she finds upon arrival is that Kinnamuir Castle is on the verge of financial ruin and needs more than a yoga instructor. She tries to come up with a plan to save the castle, but its difficult and unwelcoming owner, Aidan McAllister proves to be problematic. In spite of not being initially impressed with one another, a physical attraction which they both try to ignore develops. Can Darcy and Aidan overcome their troubled pasts and contentious relationship and find a way to do what needs to be done?

This book is all about its characters and their setting. It is infused with descriptions of food, place and feelings. The well defined characters are vividly brought to life. There are no stereotypes here. They are appealing and sometimes frustrating. Their resilience is tested. This is an imaginative and surprise filled narrative in which the fictional world seems real. Well written and engrossing, this book is well worth reading. Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I really wanted to love this book based on its description, but the characters lacked depth and the story just did not hold my interest.

I picked this book because of the description. I thought it would be a quaint read by the "sweet romance" and good synopsis. However, it was not. The main characters had no depth. Darcy starts out with her integrity in taters. I found her boss had more depth and character than her. Threatening to sew her if she ever had a counseling position again. I felt that this book should relabeled, not a sweet romance. Romance or erotica would be better.

There was so much potential, but it really needs work.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

This book could have been good but it lacked any emotion. I didn't care what happens to the main characters because there was no substance to them.
