After a traumatic experience of being captured and tortured by an evil group calling themselves the Knights of the Dragon bent of capturing drakons for their power, Abigail takes herself for a vacation travelling in Europe needing to feel independent after constantly relying on, and being taken care of by her elder sister, Constance.
When Abigail finds herself being called to by a powerful gem crafted into a bracelet, she unwittingly becomes a pawn of the Knights yet again, in trapping a drakon. But this time the drakon that it pulled to Abigail, Vasili is more powerful and craftier that they anticipated.
. I’d not read the previous books in the series, but this one worked well as a standalone. The book was fast faced and exciting and the relationship between Abigail and Vasili absorbing. Vasili is the perfect hero, strong, intelligent and totally protective of Abigail. Abigail is slightly vulnerable, after her experience of being tortured but strong in her own way and resilient. Vasili’s dragon is quite miffed by how she thinks to push him away to protect him!
A totally enjoyable book!

Drakon’s Tear by N.J. Walters is book six in the fast paced paranormal series, Blood of the Drakon. Abigail Owens is acquainted with the drakons, thanks to her sister mating with one. She also has a rare gift that the Knights of the Dragons will do anything to possess, which means they want her. If a new reader to the series there is enough background knowledge given for the reader to completely understand that the Knights are not good guys in any sense that the word “knight” implies. Still I have glad that I have been reading the books in order.

Vasili Zima is the drakon that comes to Abigail’s aid. Together they are on the run, trying to avoid the threat and danger that is close behind. I have come to accept the instant lust/love that is part of these stories. I think paranormal romance gets a free ticket with this. Usually it doesn’t work for me, but it does in these stories. Still I like how in the story there is balance between the romance and the action of the story; neither is shortchanged. I especially like the romantic history of the beautiful gemstones. This is a lovely addition to the entire overarching theme. This series keeps getting better and better. Now if only the Knights could be destroyed for good.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book started off really good -- we have Abigail learning to be independent and even out maneuvering someone following her. Then there is Vasili who I thought would be more academically minded and would be more than just a powerful and dominating guy. I had such high hopes... until they met each other. After that first meeting the book went downhill for me.

They do the insta-love thing and after them only knowing each other 10 hours with Abigail SLEEPING for most of it, she thinks:
<i>"Vasili was a part of her now. No matter what happened, he owned a piece of her heart."</i>
Are you SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?!

And yet they continue to bear around the bush of liking each other and them somehow not getting together.

Abigail ends up just being there and not doing anything while Vasili becomes macho man who takes down everyone for her... because he loves her... without knowing anything about her... *sigh*

Look, I do generally like the soulmates trope -- I do, I swear, but I prefer if it starts with that pull and they "just know" and then come to learn more about each other and build a deeper bond, proving the soulmate bond correct. We just don't get that here.

So I won't be going back and reading more of this series. If you like dragon shifter romances then you might want to give this one a try, you might be more lenient with the romance than I.

Good read. Kind of predictable but the writing is so good you don’t mind. Ms Walters’ stories are most always unique and keep you interested. Vasili was very unique compared to the other Drakons. He also was uber alpha even more than Nic. He seemed more up on the magic and spells. He left the others in the dark.

Good read. Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Abigail Owens is supposed to be enjoying a tour of Europe, but instead she is convinced she is being followed. She has always been sensitive to when danger is near, but since she was kidnapped recently it causes panic attacks. However her other gift is calling and she just can't resist it.

Vasili Zima is a Drakon minding his own business and looking for anything interesting in Moscow. The insistent pull he suddenly feels could prove to be big trouble.

There is a lot of danger and excitement in this sexy story. The characters are both strong and loveable.

You could read this book on it's own but it's much better when you read the series in order. That way you will understand the back story and the villains that are after our sexy Drakons.

I have read and loved each one.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I happen to really love dragon shifter romance, there aren't many good ones out there. This particular one is decent. This is an insta love tale between a Drakon and a human girl with the ability to sense precious gems. Drakon is drawn to her sapphire bracelet and to her. Although it was well written I couldn't get into the plot because I was distracted by the heros infatuation with Abigail. I was also hoping she would be more kick ass.
All in all this was a decent shifter romance.

This is book 6 in the Blood of the Drakon series and you should read the books before this one as this one builds on the bigger story ARC set up in those. This one is about Abigail Owens, the sister who was kidnapped by the Knights in book 4, and Vasili Zima. Abigail had decided at the end of book 4 that she needed to get away and was going to do research on where she wanted to travel. This book starts by her traveling and heading to Moscow after believing she has been followed again. Once in Moscow she is taking in the sights and finds a little shop, and is drawn in by her gift. She purchases her find never knowing that it will change her path even more than it has been already. Vasili is drawn to not only what she found but by Abigail herself. And he doesn't know if he can trust her but he does know that he can do nothing else but keep her safe. They are both drawn to each other, but now they have to learn how to truly trust each other.

I really liked this one! There were little drawbacks for me and it had more to do with Abigail's attitude towards he own self worth than anything else. The side characters are great, especially the priest. I love how she and Vasili gravitate towards each other from the start, and I especially liked how he had such a dry sense of humor! This one was action packed from the start and, as per most of this author's books, left me not wanting it to end! It pushed the bigger story ARC further as was needed but didn't skimp on the story line for this book on it's own. Another great read and I can't wait for the next in this series!

Loved this book could not put it down really hoping that there are more in the series. I think that this book was my favorite so far as the new Drakon had learned so much more about what his powers could do

"Drakon's Tear" was a fast-paced and steamy romance/fantasy. Abigail, Constance's sister, is traveling Europe after the events of the past, which included her kidnapping by the Knights and her sister mating with Nic. Abigail is afraid of encountering the Knights again and is watching her back at every turn. The Knights, for people who are new to the series (and this can be read as a stand-alone), are a group of evil businessmen who capture drakons (the semi-immortal sons of dragons) to drink their blood and live forever. They care little for the drakons they capture and will do anything to get their prize (drakon blood).

Abigail has a special skill, where she can sense whether a gemstone is real simply by touching it. Sometimes there are also pieces that call to her. One such piece she finds in Moscow, tucked into the back of a drawer. This gem is even more special, because it feels like the drakon tears her sister now wears. She feels compelled to wear the bracelet inlaid with a blue (water drakon) tear. Drakons only cry for love and very rarely, so each tear is precious. Most often, their mates wear them in jewelry, for the drakon had cried for them at some point in the past.

While she is wearing the bracelet, Vasili is drawn to her and immediately attracted to her. As we soon learn, the bracelet is a Knight tool, spelled to draw in and trap a drakon. However, Vasili is strong and wise and has taken precautions against such things. The feelings he has for Abigail are not induced by the bracelet. However, now the Knights are hot on their tails and they are on the run in Russia.

This was a very fast-paced and insta-love story, but I really enjoyed it! Vasili has some new information about drakons which was really fascinating to learn. He and Abigail make an unbeatable team. Their romance was really fast, but this is the way of the drakons and their mates, so it worked overall. There was also a heavy feeling of suspense with the Knights, who are constantly causing problems. They are an easy enemy to hate for their cruelty and abusive nature. The story was wrapped up nicely at the end, and I really enjoyed it. Overall, I definitely recommend this book and series- they are definitely a wonderful guilty pleasure!

Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

A well written addition to the Blood of the Drakon, Drakon’s Tear was a fabulous read. Abigail and Vasili are great characters and their interaction and the storyline extremely engaging. This is definitely one I will be recommending this book and series.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I hadn't read any of the other books in the series prior to this one, and had no problem following along with the story or the characters.

I really like the characters of Abigail and Vasili. Individually and together, they were good people, nice people, and decided to take a chance on the other. The side characters, good and bad, were well written as well, and pretty interesting overall. The story was good, with a good balance of action, emotion, and attraction. It was fast paced and easy to read.

I liked the take on the dragon/drakon legend and history, and that Vasili didn't follow the path apparently set in previous books. It made it interesting and different from other dragon books. Completely enjoyed this read!

Fast paced!

I couldn’t read this book fast enough. Suspense, action, drama, emotion, steamy and sweet.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

Yes! So loving where the story is taking us. Love meeting more Drakon's.

This is Abigail's story. We met her when her sister and Nic got together. She experienced her own trauma and in order to heal, head to Europe for awhile. She is gifted like her sister and that gets her into some trouble with the Knights and with an ancient Drakon.

Lots of action in this one. Vasili is unique and I loved how he took his time to get to know Abigail, sensing her trauma. Things went at her speed and that worked for them.

Looking forward to more in this world.

I loved this book. So much in fact I need to read the rest of the series. The world of the Drakon is cleverly constructed. The world building is very good. Abigail has an ability that puts her in danger but brings Vasili into her life. Father Petrov and his network was great. His wanting to perform the ceremony was sweet. I had a good laugh with the "kiss boo boos" scene. A very enjoyable read.

Drakon’s Tear by N.J. Walters is book 6 in the Blood of the Drakon Series. This is the story of Vasili Zima and Abigail Owens. I have read (and loved!) the previous book in this series but feel this can be a standalone book if you wish to do so. Abigail we met in the 'Drakon's Past' book, as the sister to Constance Owens...but again this can be a standalone book.
Abigail is getting away from the past and being kidnapped by the Knights of the Dragon. But her travels has put her in just as much danger. Abigail meets Vasili who she is immediately attracted too but is leery of him at first. Vasili immediately sense the bracelet that Abigail has but it her as a person that draws him to her. Unsure is she is a trap but he sure that he can't stay away from her. The two go forward to work together to take down the person after them both.
I am crazy about this series...just love it. Big fan of Ms. Walter's writing!

Vasili doesn't like when others upset his woman, “you do not speak to Abigail in that tone,” Vasili interjected. He glared at the phone as though he wanted to smash it with his fist..." Vasili enjoys his woman's touch, "she started to reach out but then pulled her hand back. He caught it and brought it to his chest, desperate to feel the brush of her fingers against him. “Touch me.” I liked this book, I love Vasili.

This is the second book in the series for me and 6th in the actual series. This one is about Abigail and Vasili. Hes been alone for thousands of years and has quite a few tricks up his sleeve. However nothing will prepare him for meeting Abigail. Shes unique in her own way. She has a special gift that lures her towards gemstones. She can also tell when they are real or fake....so for her Drakon tears are her drug.

There's danger, great love story, action and cant put down the book writing style. Abigail was kidnapped by the Knights of Dragon and is on a trip to find herself again. Meeting Vasili is something she never expected and the bracelet is only a small step. There is magic and legends and artifacts and hidden homes. You cant help but love it.

Liked this one. Abigail is traveling around Russia, by herself, and ends up finding an artifact in Moscow. Infused with magic, it grabs her attention, and she buys it. When Vasili approaches her, she thinks he is a bodyguard, not a drakon. When a hit-man tries to kill her, Vasili saves her and rushes her out of the city. Good story and good chemistry between them. The only thing I didn't like was the creepy Knights, and their persistence. Otherwise, liked and would recommend.
