Dorie delivers an action-packed fantastical adventure with a dash of romance that satisfies in under three hundred pages. These books are like watching a favourite television programme. You can easily picture the situations, you care deeply about the characters (even when they drive you mad), and you are left with a decent conclusion, but also could devour the entire series in one sitting if life gave you the time to do so.

This series is starting to turn into a love fest for the main character, which can be a bit frustrating for me. (We all know my deep hatred for a love triangle, but a love quadrilateral?!) Yet, Dorie handles it in a way that is more entertaining and often humorous than frustrating. I plan on getting my hands on the rest of this series to see how it all plays out.

Sarina Dorie writes as if you were reading some one's diary. She's telling the story including all of the bumps and bruises along the way. Her characters are lively and hilarious in their efforts to live and get ahead, no matter what they have to do. In a boarding school for witches...delinquent witches...anything could happen and usually does. Entertaining and well worth your reading time.

I received an ARC of this from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This installment in the series wasn't as good as the previous book only because I think it was a bridge to set up the next book. There weren't as many pivotal moments, though there were a few hasty decisions, but it didn't have the same depth as the last one. That being said, I understand why (I've already read the next one because I can't help myself). I am really enjoying learning about and seeing the vulnerability of certain characters; they seem to be evolving nicely. This novel also brings into question, the motives for some of the key players.

This novel was still good, and I think a necessary read to lead into the next one.

My girl Clarissa keeps living out situations that makes me want to enter the world Sarina Dorie created to go and save her and try to keep her bundled up and warm and safe. No magic? She really can't catch a break!

This world keeps getting bigger and bigger and I keep getting more and more hooked on Dorie's worlds. Another page turner fantasticly magical for my lists of amazing books of this year!

This is the first book in this series, and by this author that I have read. I was a little lost at first, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit and will read more!

This is the eight book in Sarina Dorie’s Womby's School for Wayward Witches series. The author has intended for the books to be read out of order but I prefer to see the story develop chronologically. I am in love with this series. I read all current books in this series back to back.

Clarissa is still trying to rekindle her affinity with limited results. She is still hoping to find a cure for Derrick but she finds herself torn when she begins to associate with Prince Elric of the Silver Court, the only fae who continued to produce offspring when other fae could not. He insists he has fallen in love with Clarissa but she is wary. Fae are known to be capricious in their attentions.

Once again I loved this book. Clarissa is still the dorky fantasy obsessed heroine trying to navigate through a world that carries so many risks. As the series progresses we learn more about the wide array of supporting characters and there is still plenty left to learn. I hated Prince Elric, there is something off about him. As each book progresses I find myself waiting for a relationship to develop between Clarissa and Thatch. Thatch is such a complex character modelled on the enigmatic Professor Snape from Harry Potter. Very little is revealed about him, whether he is a spy or on Clarissa’s side is still a mystery. This book like all books in the series is heavily influenced by Harry Potter. While it appears to be a young adult book the series features sexual scenarios that are not age appropriate.

Each book is a continuation of Clarissa’s journey and storylines flow through each one, while minor issues are resolved in each book they all end without total resolution so you need to stick with the series.

I was offered some of the books for review which is how I discovered this series but I did go back to the beginning, some are available on kindle unlimited and others I purchased.  I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't like this book as much as the others in the series. It starts out with a bang but gets bogged down in trying to get her affinity back, and fulfilling a fae promise to fall in love with the prince. Most of what follows is arguing with Mr Thatch about her love life and being wooed by the prince. Definitely feels like being the third wheel in some else's life. #MyCrazyHexBoyfriend #NetGalley
