I thought this book provided a good quick read. The storyline was well written and deliciously creepy with well developed characters. 3.5 stars.

It is a War horror story, the plot being set in the small town, Old Hollow. First I was drawn by the cover, but then I really enjoyed the story.
Thank you Netgalley for this spooky book.

As a lover of historical fiction and horror, I had a good time with this book. I usually read galleys in the order I receive them, but I did cheat and bump this one up to the top of the list because it's so short. If you want a nice thrill that doesn't take hours to read, then this is definitely not a bad choice. It's more of a novella than a novel, which sometimes plays against it rather than help it. I would've loved more background information on the characters so that I could have cared about what happened to them. At the back of the book, there was a list of prominent characters that included brief biographies of each of them, and a bunch of information that was on it wasn't included in the actual story, though I wish it had been.

Overall, the book is a bit predictable in its big twist, and the ending certainly wasn't a surprise, either. However, it's a quick read and is definitely enjoyable for lovers of horror and historical fiction.
