An interesting book that gives insight into the background and physiological and psychological benefits of yoga. Some information that was new to me, a good read.

I have been practicing yoga for several years, but my exploration of the literature about the philosophy is more recent. However, I have read a good number of books on the subject and found this one to be an excellent addition to the field. There were certainly some aspects of yoga that are well covered elsewhere, I learned about several new-to-me aspects ( such as the gunas). I also always enjoy a fresh perspective on the various practices and this book provides that.
