I've read several books by Phillip Margolin and have enjoyed them all. This one was no exception. Fast paced and easy to read. Highly recommend this book.

This book, I read the synopsis and thought I was totally going to love it. I didn’t hate it but it wasn’t love. I feel like it just ended. I really hope there is a follow up to this book.

Author Phillip Margolin shows off his clever storytelling skills by packing action, multiple story lines and modern day felonies into a complicated plotline that leads to murder.

THE PERFECT ALIBI features Portland Oregon attorney Robin Lockwood facing a plethora of cases to try, everything from rape to murder. One of her courtroom adversaries is prosecutor Rex Kellerman, a man who is not above doctoring the evidence in order to guarantee victory.

With enough slimy characters to fill three books, this stirring and fiendishly deceptive story of twisted interests and buried secrets waiting to be discovered t illustrates just how far desperate people will go to protect themselves from discovery.

Thank you #Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review this book!! I am a huge Philip Margolin .fan ever since Gone But Not Forgotten (still the best), and was thrilled to receive the new one!! This did not disappoint. I like Robin Lockwood and look forward to more from her, but missed more from Regina Barrister.
Having said that, this was still great. It begins with a date-rape case and spins into several other cases before ending with something I never saw coming. I was so sure I knew what was going on with all of the characters. Hopefully this will be a continuing series!

Only Margolin can start a book with one story, start another and end up blending everything together into another sure-fire bestseller! The story will keep you riveted from page one to the end.

This book follows Atty Robin Lockwood into a new case after her last appearance. She is a believable character and this mystery was compelling and full of twists and turns. I’m a big Phillip Margolin fan and this is a great new series. I do think you need to read The Third Victim.....the book that introduces Robin, her background and some other characters before you read this one. I am excited to read the next one involving Robin! Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy for review.

Great read. lots of twists and turns. Just when you think you know what is going on and have the answer to the mystery the rug is pulled out from underneath you. Robyn is a tough girl ,and she gets in some really tight spots, which if you trade places with her are really scary and heart pounding. Very well written, definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this book! This is a continuation of the series with Robin, the Defense Attorney, who became a partner after her mentor, Regina Barrister, has some problems in The Third Victim, and leaves the practice to go on a World trip. Robin Lockwood, is a great character. She's tough and does a great job for her clients. She has a couple of different clients and without giving away anything, these are very tricky cases, and some moral decisions must be made. Robin with the help of her investigator, solve the cases. Sometimes she's way more than just a lawyer! Love her! Great book, highly recommend.

Robin Lockwood is a young attorney with an unusual claim to fame: she is an accomplished former MMA fighter. She is approached by a young college student who desires to sue her rapist in civil court. The young man is an accomplished college athlete and insists on his innocence, despite the strong DNA evidence against him. Robin Lockwood agrees to handle the suit and is present for the young man’s trial. She observes him get convicted and sentenced. Shortly thereafter, a second rape occurs and the evidence seems to prove the impossible: that the man just sent to prison committed both rapes. Of course, this is impossible and Robin knows she must find the truth.

A Perfect Alibi by Phillip Margolin is a thriller like few others. Margolin has once again written a novel that is sure to be a best seller. He has brought back the main character from The Third Victim and pits her against a privileged accused rapist and a district attorney who will do anything to win. Margolin draws from a wealth of real-world experience as both a trial and appellate attorney and the result is a novel that is as real as tomorrow’s headlines. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and give it 4/5 stars.

Three stars. Lots of twists and a satisfying conclusion to the mystery. However, the writing is basic and the story is told at warp speed - there’s absolutely no nuance or descriptive prose. A satisfying, if forgettable, beach read.

What a page turner! Easy to get sucked into this book. There were multiple stories intertwined into one, and it was easy to follow each of them, which is definitely a plus!

I was given this book from Netgalley for an honest review -
Once again Margolin writes a winner -
A college athlete is accused of rape which he swears he didn't do.
Then another rape happens and startling - it has the same DNA - how can that be when the rapist is in jail?

I was able to read an advanced copy of this novel thanks to Netgalley in exchange for an unbiased review.

I requested this book based on the fact that the description sounded very interesting.

This was a struggle to finish. The characters developed through the book, but some of them were hard to relate to and thoroughly just didn’t like them. The flow of each chapter seemed to drag. I expected more of a mystery, suspense plot but just didn’t get that. 2.5 stars

This is the 2nd book in the Robin Lockwood legal thriller series and I was lucky to have read the 1st book.
It thought this book was a smart, twisty, fast paced and entertaining read.
It kept me interested the entire book.
I hope the author continues this series.

I had a hard time getting into this book. It didn’t really pick up till almost halfway through, and the plot was super complicated and scattered. It was hard to make sense of everything that was happening. I did like the ending, but the first part almost deterred me from finishing it.

A young woman accuses a prominent local college athlete of rape. Convicted with the help of undisputable DNA evidence, the athlete swears his innocence and threatens both his lawyer and his accuser as he's sent to prison. Not long after, there's another rape and the DNA test shows that the same person committed both rapes which is seemingly impossible since the man convicted of the first rape was in prison at the time of the second one. Now, the convicted athlete, joined by a new lawyer, is granted a new trial and bail. Shortly thereafter, his original lawyer disappears and his law partner is murdered.

We follow the protagonist, Robin Lockwood, as she tries to uncover the truth behind these two similar cases she's working on. It focuses on the other characters surrounding this case as well. Which helped add to the story and thickened the plot. This was a well written book, with a great story line!

I look forward to every book from the author, and this one did not disappoint.. Lawyer Robin Lockwood returns in this novel, and she has plenty to do. With two, three, and even four interrelated cases and characters involving murder, rape, perjury, obstruction of justice, there is no shortage of action. A well-written novel with characters to cheer, boo, love, or hate.

If I had to choose one word to describe this book, it would be RELEVANT. It is SO SO relevant right now with the #MeToo movement. As a rape victim myself, this was a very accurate portrayal from my own experience.

The Perfect Alibi by Phillip Margolin is another Robin Lockwood . Robin is a devoted lawyer who always finds a way to help her clients and investigate their crimes. She is not swayed by any friendship she might have for someone she suspects might have committed a crime or even a murder. SHe doesn't give up once she feels she can solve a crime and protect her clients. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading the next chapter in Robin's life.
