We meet Ashley who is interning in a news radio I am thinking something like ESPN, she knows that there are not many woman in her field and she is anxious and hungry for this position. Her boss wants a story to put them on the map, she is also a female whose father and grandfather are the owner of this station but want her to prove herself. This boss wants a story proving that quaterback Evan Dawson is a virgin and Ashley sees this as her chance not only in getting recognized but also getting revenge on Evan. Years ago while she was in high school she had a crush on Evan and she thought he felt the same way, she wrote him a letter that he gave to his friends and she was mocked and bullied. While Ashley is working to get the nitty gritty on Evan he seems to be attracted to her and she ends up finding out what she thought all those years ago was not as is. Does the boss reaction seem normal? What will Evan do when he finds out? The story was ok but I didn't think that he would do what he did in the end after ignoring her for so long.

As both a football fan and a huge Sariah Wilson fan, I knew immediately I was going to love Awestruck. Evan is a sexy pro athlete who has a sensitive side and a depth of character that those who only know his public persona wouldn't guess was there. Ashton is a guarded and skeptical woman with a haunted past, trying to prove she's worth more than the naysayers believe. This is a story of redemption, regret, forgiveness and the past coming full circle to create a beautiful future. But most of all, it's a story about loving someone who isn't perfect and embracing them for who they are.
This book has it all. There are laugh out loud funny moments, there are sweet, tender moments. There are some fun twists on the classic romantic tropes of enemies to friends, friends to lovers and even some of my personal favorite guilty pleasure- fake romance becoming real love. The ending left me smiling, both sad to see the story end and completely satisfied at the same time. Definitely another win for Sariah Wilson!

Evan sometimes has to pacify his woman, “just . . . it’ll be okay. We’ll talk about it later. When you will promise me to never leave your front door unlocked again. I’ll be there soon. Everything’s going to be all right.” Evan sometimes wonders the way of the world, “there will be a tomorrow for us. And the tomorrow after that. Unless you have Black Friday plans. Which I never really understood. Celebrating and being grateful for everything you have and then literally one day later trampling other people to get the best sales.” I liked this book, I loved Evan.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book was unexpected. It's not every day you read about a celibate, good looking football player. Ashton is bend on getting revenge on the famous and well liked Evan who she used to know in high school. He had humiliated her when she revealed her feelings for him and this lead to years of childhood bullying from others. Now she works for her dream company and aspires to be an NFL announcer but she has to get the dirt on Evan to get her dream job. One thing leads to another and they are mistakenly thought to be engaged. You can imagine how the rest goes.
As a character, Ashton is sarcastic, ambitious and real. She doesn't give in to Evans charms nor is she quick to forgive him for what happened in the past. Through funny banter and time spent together they get to know each other and gradually fall in love. I liked her as a strong and honest female lead.
I didn't love Evan. Although he was a perfect gentleman and I admired his resolve to wait till he was married to have sex, his personality and comebacks just felt forced and cheesey. He seemed too perfect and his determination not to give in to anything sexual with Ashton took the heat from their connection. Although there was plenty of sexual tension, he just didn't make me feel a lot of anticipation.
Other than that this is a decent, clean romance.

Sariah Wilson's stories have never disappointed me. I read this series in 2 days! While they could be read as stand alone, I've always like to start at the beginning. #Awestruck is a sweet romance about how people can grow and change as they mature, and maybe revenge isn't so sweet....

This was a wonderfully fun and devious book! Once I started reading it, I could not put it down! I loved every minute of it!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Misunderstandings and broken hearts are taken to a new level in this football story of a Quarterback and a want to be sports announcer. Rejecting Ashton Bailey's crush in high school leads Evan Dawson to apologize which leads to other page turning events. Feel good HEA romance by excellent author Sariah Wilson. "A copy of this book was provided by Montlake Romance via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for giving me an ARC of this book. The review below is entirely my own.

I was excited to read this book bec sports romances are one of my favorite tropes and because Sariah Wilson is one of my favorite authors. I really liked this book. I couldn't put it down!

I loved how Evan has chosen to be celibate till marriage. I loved how in this book it's the hero and not the stereotypical heroine. I loved how this topic was dealt with in a simple, straightforward and non-preachy manner.

And although I knew from the start that Ashton and Evan were going to have trouble given how the story unfolds, I really really liked how they work things out.

Lastly, that ending? All. The. Feels.

My only wish is that this book had an epilogue. I would've wanted a peek into how this couple is doing a few years down the road.

I loved this book! The sparks between the two was off the charts but still stayed clean. I loved the fun dialogue. I started reading and could not put it down. I highly recommend this book!

I was really curious to read how Wilson would write a Tim Tebow type character. This is the third book in a series and each one has a character that is very intent on saving themselves until marriage (these are the only books of hers I have read so I am not sure if this runs true for every book she has written). In the past two books it was the heroine, and I did not always love the way they explained their views, so I was interested to see how she would write about it from the male perspective.

Ashton and Evan have a history and not a good one. Ashton has very valid reasons for hating Evan in the beginning of the book and being tempted by revenge. What I did not like was how far she goes. She faces a lot of pressure trying to make it in a male dominated profession, which I understand, but I found it difficult watching her delve into morally murky waters.

Evan is a bit too perfect for me. I did not believe he deserved complete absolution for past events but otherwise he is the paragon of perfection. It was a little much for me.

Still this was an easy read that kept me turning the pages. I genuinely wanted the happy ever after which certainly means the book worked on many levels.

Another excellent installment from Sariah Wilson! The plot was great, the characters were fantastic, everything was a homerun, er, touchdown. #Awestruck is told all from Ashton's POV, which I know some reviewers have had a complaint about, but honestly, I'm here for books that buck current trends in YA/NA literature (multiple POVs, heavy sex scenes) and just stick to good storytelling to sell them. An oddly sweet story given the revenge aspect. I love, love, LOVE the male MC being a virgin and wanting to wait until marriage. Did I mention I loved it? All of Wilson's other #Lovestruck books have had the girl playing that role and the change up was not only refreshing, but done really well. I wished the characters had respected it a little more in the sense that it was kind of a big part of the plot, everyone talking about it. The storytelling was on point with the transition from hate to forgiveness to love. The minor characters and the family dynamic was so unbelievably darling. This book was easily and decidedly a 5 Star novel. I would recommend it to my girlfriends, my students, to everyone. Pick it up. Especially during fall.
Personal complaints:
Again with no epilogue!! Ughhhhhhh! I just wanted more.
Like the other #Lovestruck books, when the drama comes in to derail the couple, it happens at the very end. Like, 90%. Meaning that each of our heroines wallows in their self-pity or feelings or whatever before our reconciliation, but it feels so rushed and empty and just unfulfilling for the reader. I love a happy ending, but I want to believe it. A lot of the issues in this series are ones that are totally worth exploring with the characters for like, 5 more percent of the book. It's almost becoming forumulaic for Ms. Wilson at this point: something tears them apart, our heroine cries and wallows, then POOF our hero returns because they miss each other. WHAT ABOUT THE BIG HURT THAT TORE THEM APART? Even just a big, long conversation about it would suffice.
For this plot, because there's so much backstory, I wish there had a been a little more when it came to Ashton truly deeling with her feelings from her teen years. Finding out it wasn't what you thought it was doesn't just erase a decade of nasty feelings for someone. I wish it had been a little more than just "Okay, I forgive you." BUT I also recognize the story for what it is: a sweet, super well done, contemporary romance.
This book, and more importantly this author, should definitely be at the top of your To Read List.

I was so excited to receive this book and it did not disappoint! Sariah Wilson is a master story teller and she has a way of making you feel like you know these characters. This book has it all, revenge, forgiveness, self discovery and of course MANY swoony moments. The story of Ashton and Evan will have you staying up too late to finish but not regret it at all. This the 3rd book in this series but can be read alone. Read it. Now.

I absolutely love this book!!! It had just enough suspense to make me not want to put it down but I knew it was a HEA so everything would be ok. I love her family a lot and how the niece called Evan Uncle Satan. I loved the proposal and even how the proposal started. Everything was just out of control for the control freak....it was awesome. The only thing I wanted was more at the end!!! I wanted to smile just a little bit longer thru their HEA. I felt like they just made it back together and then it ended. Otherwise, great book!

I've loved all of your lovestruck books so far and listen/read them frequently. They are my happy place! I'm so glad to have another book to add to my lovestruck rotation.

Thanks again for another great book.

It is sometimes hard to do the right thing. We all have a tendency to postpone something whenever it's unpleasant, and sometimes way too long. Even though we all know very well that it won't just "go away".

Ashton suffers from this behavior more than most, but she is neither stupid nor spineless. Quite the opposite actually, she has had some very traumatic and painful past experiences, that more than explains it.
Thank god she gave an amazing family to help her get through! Everyone should have a family like that.

This was a very nice romance between someone with past history, and it was one of the VERY few exceptions to me not liking epilogues. I actually wouldn't have minded one here. 😃

As a side note, I don't think Evans celibacy thing makes sense to anyone not American. I mean, it's just sex?!? But except for my eye rolling, I didn't find it all that important.

This was a very charming and sweet read, that I enjoyed immensely. I LOVE this series.

Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book via Netgalley

It was my first book from this author, and I will look for more of her books, I did like this author's style, and this plot.
I liked strong determination of the heroine to become sport broadcaster. This job is pretty difficult to get for women, because this world is full of mysoginistic pigs!
It was painful to read about her teens years and the way she was bullied! Poor child!
And the reason she was bullied was this"awesome" hero!! His closest best friends did it to her!! And he didn't stand for her!! He was a coward, he was afraid the team will cut him out!! What a pig!!!
He was sweet, tender, caring... But, but ,but, not good enough!
And no redemption will heal bullied teen girl!!
And he was virgin!! At his late twenties!!
We don't get if our heroine was a virgin.

This book is heroine's POV. I wish, how I wish there was a hero's POV!!!

There were not sex scenes. No OP scenes. No cheating.

This is a one sided awesome story. It features two characters that knew each other when they were young but because of some bullying Ashton hated Evan with a passion. At one time the two were very good friends but then Ash had a crush on Evan. He was very popular and he and his friends humiliated Ashton, so much that now she is a media intern and her boss wants to get the dirt on Evan.

Evan is a quarterback of the towns football team and he is also a VIRGIN but Ash's boss thinks he isn't and so Ashton decides to try and prove he is a big faker. Evan meanwhile hated how he treated Ashton in high school and wants to make things right and apologise.

Along the way they fall for the other but Ashton is there to get the dirt and her boss is not about to let it go. So things get VERY complicated between the two. This was well written and I LOVED the characters and storyline.

Thank you to #NetGalley for this ARC

I was unable to comparatively review this novel to any previous of Sariah Wilson as it was my first read of hers. This is the third book in the #Lovestruck series and is a stand-alone.

This was a light read focused on an angsty, love to hate relationship with some satirical comedy thrown in. The plot, itself, was going in the right direction, but somewhere along the line it fell apart. The characters did not lend to strengthen the storyline. While they were relatable and the reader was given a synopsis on character backgrounds, a deeper exploration was never offered. Works in this genre should make an deep emotional connection with the reader, this felt like it was just scratching the surface. It was a cute, easy read. 3 stars

This was actully really good, well written. At first I was little unsure about the whole virgin thing since most of the romance I read don't have virgins. I will definitely be checking out more of her work.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance read
