I LOVE the Morgan Dane series by Melinda Leigh. Each book gets better and better as you grow to know Morgan, Lance, and Sharp and their families. While there is some romance as Morgan and Lance’s relationship develops, it’s clean and not over the top. The murder mystery has you guessing until the end. And you are in for a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns. I am anxiously waiting for the next installment.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I received this ebook as an ARC. Secrets Never Die opens with an extremely suspenseful, action-packed scene and I was immediately engrossed. This novel has tons of twists and turns and I found myself surprised on several occasions, especially about points I was sure I had figured out! My attention lagged a little bit through about 25-55% through the novel but I’m so glad I kept going! I think there was simply so many twists to build up to that some lengthy conversations and background was necessary before it got back to full speed.
This novel jumps between a few characters perspectives and circumstances throughout. Leigh did a masterful job choosing who to focus on (and who not to) to keep you guessing and interested. I only wish I realized this was part of a series first so I could have caught up! #secretsneverdie #netgalley

Another great riveting story from Melinda Leigh! Never a dull moment in the lives of Morgan Dane and Lance Kruger as they try to save a young boy from being thrown into prison.

Book 5 of the series, Secrets Never Die, sure attests to the fact that secrets truly never die, and a present or a future is can never be lived.

Another chilling suspense from Melinda Leigh

Despite the fact that i haven't read the other books in the series i was able to jump in and enjoy it. There were things that I was missing from the earlier books but I'm going to go back and check them all out. Overall a fast, enjoyable read.

Apparently this is book 5 of a series that follows defense attorney Morgan and her partner Lance a private investigator, but you wouldn’t know it. It reads well as a stand alone.

When a retired cop gets murdered, and his step son gets framed for his murder, Morgan and Lance work together to solve the mystery. This detective drama really drew me in. Loved the writing and the characters and maybe I’ll check out the rest of the Morgan Dane series.

Well, what can I say? As usual Melinda has given us a book that keeps the pages turning and the reader on the edge of their seat. I’m sure I was NOT alone there.

Morgan and Kruger are on a case, one not too far off from the others that they’ve been on. A son accused of killing his stepdad who happens to be a cop. The evidence and the guy feelings of the troubled twosome send them out to find he truth.

As they usually do, Morgan and Kruger find themselves in a tangled web of lies and secrets that not only put them in more danger but put a crunch on their timeline to find a killer before he strikes again.

SECRETS NEVER DIE (Morgan Dane Book 5) by Melinda Leigh is a romantic suspense/PI mystery. I cannot get enough of Morgan, Lance and the whole cadre of secondary characters. The only reason I put this book down was because I had to go to work.

Tina Knox comes home from work to find her husband, a retired sheriff shot dead in the den and her teenage son, Evan missing. Tina calls PI Lance Kruger for help because her son is on Lance’s hockey team for at risk teens. As the evidence begins to come together, Evan goes from being considered a missing person to the prime suspect.

Lance and Morgan work together to locate Evan and find evidence to prove him innocent. Just when the trail goes cold, another deputy goes missing. Is his disappearance connected?

Also, Lance and Morgan do not believe that Tina is telling them the whole truth. What is she hiding and is it connected?

Lance and Morgan fear Evan is the killer’s target. Will they be able to find Evan alive and unravel family secrets that put everyone in jeopardy?

Once again, Morgan and Lance go all out to prove the innocence of their client. It is difficult to not give away secrets because I want everyone to see how clever Ms. Leigh is with her plotting. She gives you a fast-paced, page-turning, intense read with plot twists that always surprise me. Morgan and Lance’s relationship continues to develop and they are a powerhouse couple at home and on the job. I always look forward to catching up with all the secondary characters, also.

This is my favorite series by Ms. Leigh and I am going to be very sorry to see it end. Until then, I highly recommend this book and the whole series for great reads!

Melinda Leigh can be counted on to give any reader a great mystery with well developed characters that lend a touch of romance but remain focus'd on solving the crime at hand. I've read many of her books and recommended them to family and friends. Her writing pulls you into the story without bogging everything down with politics or soapbox sermons that you find in so many writers today. As long as she keeps writing, I'll keep reading her books!

Another cracking read in the Morgan Dane series. Melinda Leigh never seems to disappoint! I was hooked from the word go, desperate to know what would happen to Evan and who the killer was. Great rapport between Morgan and Lance as always and good supporting characters too. Fast paced, with just the right amount of tension. Can't wait for the next one!

As a fan of the Morgan Dane series, I was so excited to read this book. Secrets Never Die is the 5th book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. This story begins with the murder of a former cop and stepfather to one of Lance's hockey players. As we delve into the whodunit, secrets held by the mother of the teen begin to surface and take shape as extremely dangerous for all those involved, especially the missing teen. This book also continues the love story between Morgan and Lance and trying to find their balance as a family. The mystery part of this story is so good I often forget it has a tinge of romance to it. We also see the return of Lance's partner, Lincoln Sharp and his romantic interest, reporter Olivia Cruz. The romance is light but honest and real. I also really like the story lines of the supporting characters. It helps to keep the story line fresh in a series more than 3 books. Melinda, the author, has a way of unraveling a mystery where it's kind of like a slow burn but you never feel like the story drags or is dull. I think that's why I love her books so much. They aren't too far out there and the story line has so many pieces and players it keeps you interested. Her books are often a quick read for me because they are so interesting I find myself engrossed in the story and less distracted. All in all this is a great story and whether you have read the others or not you can follow along just fine in this one.

Defence attorney Morgan Dane and her fiancée PI Lance Kruger tackle a new case in Secrets Never Die. Evan, a teenage boy with a troubled past is on the run after returning home and to find his step-father being murdered. By a man with a police badge. Now Evan is a fugitive with no one to turn to. In the meantime, Lance and Morgan are working on finding Evan and solving the case, especially when Evan becomes the number one and only suspect.

This is one of my favourite mystery series, each book manages to tick all my boxes. It has a great cast of characters with a strong leading heroine; it has a little romance and finally it has a mystery that keeps you hooked into the story. Secrets Never Die is no different and I quickly devoured this book.

Melinda Leigh knows exactly how to craft a good mystery and I enjoyed reading this on unravel. As the title of the books suggests there were secrets to expose that led the book in some interesting directions. Although I wouldn’t say it kept me guessing to the end, it didn’t mean this book wasn’t exciting. There were gripping and dangerous tense moments that had me glued to the page.

But, it isn’t just the mystery that has me addicted to this series, Leigh also incorporates the interpersonal relationships of all the characters. The family life and romance of Morgan, Lance and a few other characters are important and lends this series a sense of warmth. Although this book rates at about a zero on the heat level, love is very much present throughout this book, and series.

If you are looking for an mystery that’s easy to dive into and has a little romance, then you need to give this book and series a try.

An addition to her ‘Morgan Dane’ series, I really enjoyed reading "Secrets Never Die".

While this book is the fifth instalment of the series, it really worked as a stand-alone novel as the author did a brilliant job in providing enough contextual information to pick up the series without being at a disadvantage.

I found Melinda Leigh’s writing style very solid, as was the plot development. Her characters were all strong and dynamic and I particularly liked her talent in making her characters believable and likeable. Also admirable was her gift for revealing the subtleties of their personalities and relationships.

The plot itself was riveting and intriguing and I didn’t want to put down my e-reader once I had started reading this. It had me enthralled until the exciting and unexpected conclusion.

This book was so good that I will be adding Melinda Leigh to my list of newly discovered authors, for sure!

Jam-packed with tons of thrilling suspense, this was, most definitely, a very worthwhile read.

Thanks to NetGalley, Montlake Romance and the author, Melinda Leigh for my complimentary copy of Secrets Never Die. My honest review is entirely voluntary.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in return for review based upon my honest opinion.

This is the fifth book in the Morgan Dane series. Could easily be read as a standalone book as each book features a different case, although reading the other books would be a bonus because they’re really good. I really this series, Morgan Dean and Lance Krueger are great characters. Great story, lots of thrills and a surprises The third in their investigative company is Lincoln Sharp and although he was not prominent in this book, I wish there was more of him. Can’t wait for the next book.

this was my first Melinda Leigh novel, and I will definitely be reading the others. I was hooked form the start - Poor Evan, did he kill his Stepfather, where is he> and if he did then why!!!! Thoroughly gripping stuff!

Morgan Dane is a defense attorney. She works along with Lance Kruger who is a P.I. The two are newly engaged and were once in a relationship when they were in high school. When a teen boy is the primary suspect in the murder of a sheriff's deputy, Morgan and Lance investigate the death and try to prove the boy's innocence.

Morgan and Lance are finally settling into domestic life, and have just dealt with the difficult scenario of Morgan's three little girls dealing with the flu. Just as things settle down and they could possibly get a good night's sleep, they receive a phone call that throws them into a complicated case.

When they discover the shooting of the deputy and the fact that the stepson is missing, Lance is eager to help. He coaches Evan in hockey and is positive Evan couldn't be the killer. But Evan has disappeared and Lance and Morgan desperately try to discover his whereabouts.

Secrets Never Die is the fifth book in the Morgan Dane series. I haven't had the opportunity to read the previous novels, and I think this did great as a standalone. While the couple struggle to locate Evan, he is on the run for his life. There are a lot of clues, and sadly, a few point to his guilt. But, again, Lance knows Evan couldn't have been capable of such a brutal crime.

What a thrilling story! Much like a chase, from beginning to end. The thing is, the reader knows from the very outset that Evan isn't the killer. Now Morgan and Lance have to find him, and also discover the true killer. I found this story by Melinda Leigh to be captivating from the very first page and the tension, drama and danger never let up. I will most definitely continue the series. The next book is Save Your Breath, scheduled for release this September.

Many thanks to Montlake Romance and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Another one down in the Morgan Dane series! For me, this was the least gripping and climactic of the series thus far. I just wasn’t on the edge of my seat with a thrill like I have been in the previous books. That isn’t to say this wasn’t a good book, I thought the story was just fine and I blazed through this one quickly, per usual in this series. I was elated to see some of my favorite characters doing well, recovering, staying healthy. A couple of things I was pleasantly surprised to see change in this book verse the previous four: 1) The Characters storylines weren’t repeated heavily, in fact, they barely were refreshed and if they were, it was very light. 2) Morgan was not beaten up by any macho men this go around. I’ve gotta say, those were both a relief for me to see, personally. Overall, I enjoyed the story. It’s adorable to see Lance turn into a mushy softy for Morgan’s girls and Sharp lightening up and venturing into a personal life again. I received this copy early compliments of NetGalley and the Publisher for my honest review, and that’s it! I look forward to the next book in this series and am really curious to look further into another Melinda Leigh series.
