There was a time I was totally into gothic romances. This book brings me back to those days.

Molly Todd and Cooper Middleton wake up in Vegas after some wild days (college reunion of Cooper and his friends and they met Molly the first day) and they find they are married. Cooper brings Molly to his hometown McClellanville near Charleston, where they will figure out how to annul their marriage. When they arrive at Cooper's home where he lives with his father and sister, Molly is intrigued with Cooper's first wife who just up and left years before.

The story is told from Molly's point of view. It is written very beautifully. I was immediately sucked in to the story. However, I have read so many gothics I could predict how the story would turn out. It is not really original in that way. But I loved the setting and the writing style of this author.

I look forward to her next book.

This is romantic suspense at its best. Creepy location in South Carolina. Murder, lost memories and secrets. Molly and Cooper wake up married in Vegas. Cooper takes Molly home to South Carolina to sort out their marriage. Molly has secrets she is keeping and Cooper has lots of family drama going on. Can they make it as husband and wife?

Molly Todd wakes up in a Vegas parking lot with a headache, a virtual stranger, and a wedding ring. She's left with no other option but to go home with new husband Cooper Middleton to the Lowcountry of South Carolina to straighten out the mess they've made. The more Molly gets to know Cooper and his family, the more she wonders if she and Cooper might have a real chance together. Molly's unusual life experiences allow her to spot the skeletons in the Middleton family closet: ones Cooper's never suspected, ones that are hidden in plain sight. What Molly discovers will shake Cooper's foundations and could threaten both their lives.

Lying Beneath the Oaks by Kristin Wright is an intense romantic suspense thriller. The author doesn't add any extra fluff to try and describe the setting or characters, which can ruin a book, but just enough detail to give the reader a vivid picture of the setting. I've never been to the Lowcountry, but with the description of if, I feel like I've been there through the book. I loved this book!

An interesting suspense/romance type book. Molly wakes up after a long night in Vegas and realizes she has gotten married to Cooper. While they try and figure out what to do Cooper bring her back to his family home. There is a lot of suspense as Molly tries to keep the secret that she was in prison for killing her abusive mother. Cooper's dad turns out not to be the great man he wants people to think he is. Will there be a happy ending for Molly or does she have to go on the run again to hide from her horrible past.

I have a weakness for books set in the low country and this novel was no exception. After a few wild days in Vegas Molly wakes up in a car next to a stranger and discovers she’s now married to him. With Cooper’s vacation over, he talks Molly into going home with him to Charleston for thanksgiving where he has a lawyer pal who can arrange an annulment.
Molly is already smitten with Cooper as she realizes how kind he is, something she hasn’t been shown in life. She quickly adores his sister, and eccentric neighbor Aurelia, but his father, Ted is another story. As Molly and Cooper discover each other they realize
maybe they are right for each other, but will their pasts stand in the way of their future.
An interesting plot and a romantic suspense novel you won’t want to put down.
