Thoroughly enjoyable story! Three little girls form a friendship over a tea party ritual as five year olds, and that bond carries them through the pressures and pains of growing up as they go in different directions, find that life doesn’t always hand them what they are striving for. They remain connected, loyal, supportive even in the toughest of times. I couldn’t decide which character I liked best, but Jodi Thomas does a great job of drawing the reader into their lives, The further I got into the story, the more I wanted to keep reading. What a wonderful way to spend a cold winter evening—snuggled in blankets reading a great book.

I am a Jodie Thomas fan. I have read many, perhaps most of her books. That being said, I did not find as much pleasure as usual in this particular book. It proved to be a bit too bare bones for me. The story has a good plot line and holds a lot of promise, but leaves you wanting a bit more development before leaping forward in time at several points.
I would certainly recommend it for her fans, but I would probably suggest another starting point for a new reader of her work. I would rate it 3 1/2 if possible.
The three women’s life long friendship is worth the sharing and told from the fourth friend’s perspective is nicely done.

This story line tells the story of 3 friends from kindergarten through out their lives. How they deal with life problems, love, disappointments and finally personal tragedy.

A nice little story following four friends from grade school until adulthood. The three girls meet originally at aa tea party held so they could meet each other before they started kindergarten. k It was a chance to have a friend when they went to school Who knew that friendship would last throughout their lives. A boy was added to the mix early on - he was a bit older, but he became part of the grouip, but didn't attend their tea parties. A nice book.
