I enjoyed reading this novel. Martin has taken a reporting job along the coast of England, He takes a room in a local boarding house. After a shipwreck the lone survivor also stays in a room in the house. As the two become friends Martin uncovers many secrets inside the house and in the town. I liked the characters and the setting. The author does a good job with creating a backstory from the Ibsen play The Lady From the Sea. It is not necessary to have read the play to enjoy this book. Enjoy

I can see where this book might appeal to people but it wasn't for me. I had a very hard time getting into the story, though I liked many of the characters. The story was a little all over the place for me.
