A big thank you to NetGalley and Gallery/Threshold/Pocket books for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Wow was this a fun book. It has a little of everything, crazy in laws, good friends, a love interest, a crazy s and puppies! who could ask for more. A southern setting too. Well worth the read. Duffy is just a plain nice guy. This is not to say that he isn't gorgeous, but he is just a nice guy. A rare thing in the world today. There are Wayne's than Duffys unfortunately. Lucy is confused and I completely understand. I give this a 4.5. I think most romance readers will enjoy.

Gimme Some Sugar is the third book in Molly Harper’s Southern Eclectic series.

Duffy McCready has been in love with Lucy Brewer since high school. She is now back in Lake Sackett, Georgia as a widow and looking to start over by opening a bake shop. As they try to go from recently reconnected friends to lovers, they get a lot of interference and drama from his ex-wife and her mother-in-law.

Be forewarned…reading about Lucy’s bakery items will make you want to go out and binge on cupcakes!

I have read and enjoyed the previous books in this series. All the extended family members of the McCready Family Funeral Home & Bait Shop make appearances in this book and it is fun to catch up with them. This is a charming and entertaining series with lots of small town residents with backstories and baggage.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC

Another winner in the Southern Eclectic series! Lucy and Duffy have known and cared for each other since they were children but their timing has been off. Both are afraid to ruin their friendship so they haven't explored a romantic relationship but when they do it's magic. Sweet, funny, sexy, I loved this book!

This is book 6 in a series and I haven't read any of the others. I don't feel like you need to read the others, I never felt lost, however I felt that I might have appreciated the book more. And I do plan on reading the others in the series because these are really fun characters.

This is mostly about Lucy Brewer coming home after her husband, who she had stopped loving, died and using the opportunity to peruse her dreams. She has to deal with her bitter in-laws while juggling opening a bakery and being a single mother. With all of this conflict, the romance felt like an after thought. There wasn't much tension between Lucy and Duffy getting together. Them getting together and staying together felt very inevitable. However, all of the interesting characters in the book made this a fun, charming book to read.

Molly Harper’s entire Southern Eclectic series are comfort reads for my soul! I have ADORED every installment and Gimme Some Sugar could quite possibly be my favorite!!!

I love second chance romances and once you hear Lucy and Duffy’s backstory you will understand why these two are so deserving of a happily ever after! I enjoyed reading their journey while at the same time catching up with past favorites! Molly Harper has a talent in writing 5 star novels that are the perfect combination of heartstring-pulling moments, laugh-out-loud humor, swoon-filled sweetness and sassy one-liner awesomeness! If you haven’t started this series —now is a perfect time! You won’t want to miss it!!
