I love a good psychological thriller and this is GOOD. When reading books of this genre I always challenge myself to try and guess who the perpetrator is. Well i got it wrong yet again. I love a book that keeps you guessing and this one ticks all the boxes.
A date gone horribly wrong and eight witnesses. I was hooked, flipping through the pages. I just had to know. Loved loved this book, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and a MUST READ for all readers of this genre.

Remember Me by D E White was an interesting read, a book that I read quite quickly and enjoyed. There is a lot going on in this story, a lot of characters - all with their own secrets and lies.

This story is set in a small Welsh Village, where 15 years ago teenager Ellen disappeared without a trace. Her best friend Ava is returning to the village from her new home in LA where she is works with the LAPD. The reason for her coming back is that her ex-husband is dying of cancer and wants to see her. Her return has people asking the questions again about what happened to Ellen. Ava starts to get cryptic messages and terrible things are starting to happen to those who were in the woods 15 years ago.

Thanks to HQ Digital and Netgalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased.

Remember me is a thriller that is set out like an Agatha Christie scenario as in you are given alll the characters it is merely siphoning through the characters stories for clues that leads you to the perpetrator.
LA police detective Ava Cole is back in her childhood village in wales, she has returned to see her ex husband before he dies of cancer. Coming home is bringing with it a few issues as in she’s not seen or spoken to her teenage son since she left him when he was two years old and also the death of her best friend which she feels is her fault but is it? Ava receives some disturbing texts and pictures shortly after returning, a murder takes place and strange goings on occur. Ava puts her detective side of her to some use as she tries to find out who the murderer is before they strike again.
This was an ok thriller, I did enjoy it I just found it needed to be harder hitting for me to remember it.
I would like to thank Netgalley and H Q Digital for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Remember Me is a fast paced gripping psychological thriller. I was pulled immediately into the plot and couldn’t put this book down. The plot has many twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. I highly recommend this book. I received an arc from Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.

Ava Cole, an LAPD dectective returns to her childhood town in Wales to visit her ex-husband who is terminally ill, Ava ran off to LA back to her parents when her son Stephen was only a toddler, this will also be the first time she has seen Stephen since so Ava has a lot of personal issues to deal with. Along with that, her best friend Ellen died in an accident in the woods 15 years ago, 8 friends were in the woods that night doing what teenagers do (which is quite scary when you read what they got up to!) following a date, Ava believes Ellen died and the 7 remaining friends for some mad reason bury her as they were drunk and on drugs and didn’t want her death being a blight on their lives!

Returning to Wales, Ava has to deal with someone taunting her… Remember Me Ava Cole, someone is playing with her, who can she trust? What did happen to Ellen that night in the woods, was it actually an accident or something more sinister? Ava has to play the game to get to the bottom of it but can she escape intact?

A great psychological thriller, I love a who dunnit scenario and this was definitely that, making ask more questions than are answered as the web of deceit unfolds, with a twist that will shock!! Definitely will be recommending this.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was given an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review

This book did not have narrative flow and made no sense. The characters switch personalities throughout the book, and while I assume that’s to give it a twisty feel, it just reads like bad writing. Not even worth a few hours of scapism on a cold day.

When detective Ava Cole returns to her childhood town, she doesn't expect it to be easy. She also isn't expecting the awful reality that is about to hit her. Fifteen years ago, her best friend Ellen disappeared in the middle of the woods. There were 8 of them there that night, 8 of them that know the truth. As Ava is hit by years worth of pent up emotions, something strange is going on. Someone is determined to make her remember, determined not to let her forget what happened on that night in the woods fifteen years ago.

Okay, so I hate writing negative reviews but honestly I really didn't enjoy reading this. It felt like an incredibly ambitious plot, with so many characters and storylines that it felt a bit all over the place. I was often left confused and overwhelmed. I think this would have been a much better read if the number of characters was reduced, which would allow a deeper connection to each. I really struggled to get to the end of this one and was unsatisfied with the big reveal.

Catches you from the beginning and never lets you go! A thriller that keeps you on your toes and guessing up until the very end. Great mix of characters, interestingly set in Wales, and well written. Highly recommend and would love to read another of her books!!

I received a copy of Remember Me from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley! The description of this book caught my attention as I love psychological thriller type books. This one took me a little longer to read than normal as I thought it moved a little slow in parts. For me this wasn't one of those, "I can't wait to get home and keep reading so I can find out what happens!" type of books. I will say that for me personally the main villain wasn't obvious for quite some time so I did like that aspect that kept me guessing. I think overall it's a good read, just maybe not as quick moving as I would have hoped.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this book. This reminded by of Agatha Christie novels where you have a whole cast of characters, any one of whom could have committed the crime. Where did Ellen go?? Detective Ava Cole returns to her hometown to see her ex-husband, who is terminally ill, and of course all her old friends who were there the night Ellen disappeared. We follow her as she searches for an answer to the question, "what happened?"

4 stars/ 5 ☆☆☆☆

The killer kept sending her texts , in Welsh..and the killer knew she had come home...

I hardly had to think to translate it: ‘Sut byddwch chi’n cofio fi, Ava Cole?’‘
How will you remember me, Ava Cole?’
Ava an LAPD detective , has secrets from her childhood that are coming to a surface, whoever killed her best friend Ellen is watching her movements, knows she has arrived to see her exhusband, who is dying of cancer, her teenage sons girlfriend goes missing on the set of a reality tv show, and the clock is ticking. Ava keeps getting pictures sent to her cell phone of Bethan..and she wonders as she investigates.. is it one of her old friends who were there the night of Ellens murder,?

The suspense keeps pulling you to the next chapter with page after page of the killer taunting, and trophies showing up so Ava can find them. Fans of Criminal Minds will enjoy the spine tingling psychological torture, the author gives clues with journal like entries that is a mindseye journey into the mind of the killer, you think you know which of the eight friends killed Ellen and is killing others inthe sleepy Welsh town, But even those you suspect are dropping in the snare of the killer.
I loved the pace of this story, the characters were well developed, and atmosphere was rich with noire feel..and the desolate rural town adds a tension to the story ..the cold seeps into the bones of the reader and you are there shaking with Ava . Wonderful debut novel for DE White..we hope she continues a few more stories with Ava ...we will be watching for them

Wow what a brilliant book from D.E. White, I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Struggling to get to grips with this book. There’s too many characters and I find it rather confusing! May try again after reading something else.

This book is a thriller that was missing something to take It to the next level. It had it's moments of engagement and thrill, but midway I found myself a bit bored. The characters were developed well. I was invested in the main character Ava and genuinely wanted to solve the mystery at the end. Despite this I felt the story was repetitive and I just checked out for a good portion. This made the ending not entertaining or exciting. The big reveal was unexpected but it took so long for the "villain" to reveal their true plan and motivations that by the end I didn't care, and wanted the story to end. Everything just moved slowly. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher HQ digital for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I began this book very excited. I liked the idea that a current officer had done wrong in her youth and now that bad thing was being brought to light. However about 10% into this book I was still so uninterested in anything that was going on I felt forced to try and finish the story. None of the characters were interesting and truthfully I didn’t care anymore about what was trying to be exposed.

Detective Ava Cole has a history. Long ago, Ava(along with her group of friends) witnessed the death of her best friend. They then decided to cover it up. After many years away, Ava must return to her hometown, where her ex husband is dying of cancer, to take care of her son. During her stay, strange things start happening. Someone knows about that horrific night and is playing games with Ava. Is it one of her own friends out to get her? Is it someone else that was there that night that saw the whole thing? Ava should be scared for her life!

There were far too many characters in this story for me to keep track off, the pace was too slow, sadly this book wasn't for me.

"An absolutely gripping psychological thriller with a brilliant twist." This line from the cover is a very accurate description of this book. However, the yellow umbrella has absolutely nothing to do with the story. They should have used a chain of daisies. Or something related to the story.

The narration alternates between the main character and the killer. Hearing the killer's voice from the beginning is very gripping and of course serves to throw some red herrings at the reader. From that viewpoint the reader also learns the killer's identity before the final reveal but that enhances the story instead of the typical quick reveal without an in-depth look at the killer's background, motives, and mindset.

D.E. White did a superb job of crafting the story and developing his characters. The Welsh countryside provided a great backdrop for the story. I hated to finish the story and say goodbye to the cast.

Read it!

Thanks Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC of the novel in an exchange for an honest review.

This is an interesting thriller with engaging plot and characters.
Dealing with old buried secrets getting into the light and a villain lurking in the the dark with a game of his own.

Pretty good writing, although it took me sometime to keep the various characters and storylines straight. I predicted the ending, but this didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the novel.

This was a pretty decent thriller. I enjoyed the overall storyline, but I had quite a bit of a problem with the pacing of the story. It was really slow for me, and I had trouble pushing through it. It was also full of way too many characters to keep track of. It just got way too confusing. Writing was good but just an okay read for me overall.
