I seriously enjoyed this book! I loved the New Orleans setting, loved all the characters and their interactions. It was fun and sexy - my favorite elements for a modern romance. I couldn't put it down! However, this was one of the most poorly edited advance copies I've ever received. I hope the print edition makes all the needed corrections, since I'd so love to be able to recommend this one to friends.

Soul mates. Love is not easy for Avery and Declan but with time and a little help from friends, it happens. Hot sex.

ARC received for review

I read curvy girl and thought about Alexa Riley heroines, but Avery is nothing like them. Declan is all kinds of yummy and the two of them together are HOT! But then they both have to get all angsty. Drama ensues and heartbreak, then best friend to the rescue and HEA. I hope Ms. Lynne has another book planned for Matthais.

I love finding new author's! I am so stoked to have found Moonlight and Whiskey, just waiting on me to devour in a DAY!
This is just the book I was looking for and a new author, which I have been craving. The writing is really fantastic! I am a super smart mouth so I related so much to Avery on so many levels. I am also a curvy girl who loves my curves and have a man who loves them as well. This story is a lesson in self acceptance and loving one's self for exactly who you are. Even the "beautiful people" have self doubt and are always finding some flaw, we all do. When Avery and Declan meet, it is fireworks instantly and I was 100% in. The verbiage used to describe our leads, was spot on, I had a clear mental picture of what Avery and Declan looked like and my imagination went wild.

Avery, is everything we want in a leading lady. She doesn't hold back on much of anything, she says whatever comes to mind and sometimes that gets her into trouble... or asked out.
Declan , is a super hot guy who has no business being attracted to Avery (according to Avery) but oh is he. One touch and the electricity shoots through both of them and there is no denying something is going to happen. Declan, is a super sexy rock singer and so much more.
Explosive does not even begin to cover the fireworks that Avery and Declan share when they decide to give into their shared passion. What is suppose to be a vacation fling is setting up to be something that is so much more. Both are harboring secrets that are eating them up inside. Avery, is afraid to let herself go and just living her best life, free of judgement and consequence. While Declan, has some serious issues with his past and is steadfast in believing, if he falls for someone he will end up just hurting them, so why bother. He never counted on Avery coming into his life.
It is a very interesting story as we see Avery, come into her own and accept herself for the fabulous person she is. She realizes that she is worthy of a good man and respect from her job. NO more is she willing to be the doormat to be walked on, by anyone.
Declan, on the other had is having a tough time figuring out how to come to terms with his feelings for Avery. He feels like he will never measure up to the people in Avery's life. Little does he know, he is far beyond better than the narrow minded people Avery works with.
The author went deep with the supporting cast. Avery's best friend is the best kind of friend. Kat, calls Avery to the mat when she is too hard on herself, she is supportive and hilarious! Kat and Avery, could easily have a series of books written about their adventures. Jamie, Shaun and Mattie are the band members, but each of them play a part in this story that leaves us wanting to know more about them. I want their stories as well. The cast is rich and wonderfully developed.
The Avery and Declan, story gives you angst, humor, sexiness and resolution. It is a fantastic read.
I connected with Avery, in a way I have NEVER connected with another leading lady.

"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."

Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

For a debut novel this was well written. I found a few spelling errors in the advance copy (engineer spelled wrong) but I can imagine it will be corrected.

The story is really good. It's set in New Orleans and the experiences of sights, sounds, tastes, and smells is truly as the author portrays.
The characters are fun. On vacation they meet some guys and have vacation romance. Getting feelings hurt as they get to know each other was special because they kept learning more about themselves and their lover.

The intimate scenes we're very hot. Declan was very loving. Something special was created in each scene so it seemed real and not merely plugged in.

Nice work. Can't wait for more from this author.

Hmm I wasn't crazy about Avery she kept saying she was this badass b*tch but was constantly whining, her first meeting with Declan was ridiculous she didn't have to go all Rambo to him, I honestly didn't know why he liked her. These two drove me crazy with there back and forth, with holding walls up not making decisions. Please there comes a time in your life that you need to man up and make a firm decision., yes they eventually got back together after both flipping out of two misunderstandings.. I personally liked the secondary characters better. But I doubt I will read the rest..

Originally, I wasn’t going to give feedback but I was so irritated that I wanted to warn other readers. I’m all for equal rights between men and women on all fronts, but I have a hard time reading about women that feel the need to cuss, drink, swagger, yell and fight like a man. We are smarter and better than that. Just because we can doesn’t mean we should. I was excited to finally read about a legit plus size character who loved herself, but Avery seemed more damaged than happy.

I was provided an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a new author to me and I was absolutely blown away by her book and writing. I loved this book so much I couldn't put it down.

This book had everything a great romance should have. The main couple were two people you just liked. When they were were falling in love, you were falling right with them, when they laughed, you did too and when they fought, your heart hurt.

There was so much passion between these two that when things were good, they were sexy good!! However, when they fought their fighting usually hit below the belt. You wanted them to get together and be happy. They both had baggage that they are working through but in order to go threw it, sometimes they lashed out.

I would highly recommend this book!!

Holy shit. I was instantly hooked in by Avery's sass! I absolutely loved this book.

From the well developed characters to the detailed setting of New Orleans, this book was so raw and emotional. It was perfect in every way I could have hoped for.

Avery and Declan, both have personal demons that made their HEA journey a bit rough, but totally worth it.

Avery is one hell of a character, I love her sass, cleverness, and her struggles. She's such a real and complicated character. Declan is the lead singer of BlackSmith. He's literally the male version of Avery, he's sexy, has his issues, and has a mouth on him! But when he meets Avery, one night turns into several he suddenly realizes he doesn't want her to go back to Dallas, and she secretly doesn't want to either... but certain events occur... which make her question things.

Ahh the ending was heartwarming, it was beautiful. If you like Contemporary Romance novels, then I highly recommend it! I cannot wait to read more from this author!

Holy hotness Ms. Lynne! *fans self*

What a way to debut! Moonlight & Whiskey is a sizzling romance set in New Orleans that incorporates Avery, a sassy, headstrong female with a wicked tongue, and the tattooed lead singer, Declan, her sexy Irish male counterpart in a wonderfully solid world with engaging characters that come-to-life before your very eyes.

Looking forward to what comes next...bring it Ms. Lynne, bring it!

Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

Drowning in details. I enjoyed the storyline, but, I became so bogged down in minute details that I began to feel weighted down in all the unnecessary dialogue. It was detail over kill for me. I didn't like that Avery thought she had to make up for her plus size with her snarky shrewish verbiage. That detracted from my full enjoyment of the story. I loved Declan's character and frequently felt empathy for him, especially when Avery's mouth ran wild.

Loved this story of a curvy girl Avery and her walk on the wild side in New Orleans. She is determined to ignore the haters and enjoy her life. When she meets rocker Declan her sassy mouth and beauty is what attracts him. He loves girls with attitude and Avery has it in spades. Sweet hot romance!

**I received a copy of Moonlight and Whiskey from Loveswept and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. The opinions are mine and not solicited**

Avery, even with her lack of confidence, due to her weight and body image, was such a strong female character. I like that the author made her a successful woman in a male-dominated field. Her smart-alec , sarcastic attitude cracked me up!
Declan seem to be the typical hard rock band member. But I loved the two of them together. The undeniable chemistry that they had jumped off the pages.
This is the first book I have read by this author, but it won’t be the last!

Wow, what a great book that was not what I expected. Avery and Declan are amazing characters and have so much more depth than I imagined. Their personalities are strong and never cease to amaze. A good read that's full of chemistry, passion and surprises. I read an arc via Net Galley and voluntarily chose to write a review. They both have so many demons in their past and it's amazing how they bring each other out.

Moonlight and Whiskey by Tricia Lynne is her debut book and I have three words for you Oh. My. God. What a book filled with a hot Irish hard rock singer and a badass not afraid to speak her mind chick. When is Jamie and Kat's book out? Please say soon, please? Then we need to find a lady for Matt because he's a big lovable fella. You won't be disappointed with this book it's filled with self doubt, angst, tears, a fantastic former model turned photographer who's Avery's best friend Kat who can out snark whatever Avery throws her way.

Avery Barrows is not only a successful engineer is Dallas who's well know for her building designs but with self esteem issues she's ready to let lose in New Orleans. But when she sees the interest in BlackSmith's lead singer can she settle for just a one-night stand and will Declan look beyond her curves? When a one night turns into several both Dec and Avery will have to deal with abandonment by parents, old flames who used her but didn't want a permanent relationship before they can finally admit that love was always there they just had to find each other.

Declan McGinn who's the lead singer of BlackSmith doesn't want anything beyond one night and he knows from watching his father that love only hurts. But when he meets Avery and one night turns into several he suddenly realizes he doesn't want her to go home to Dallas. He hopes their chemistry together can last forever but both of them are going to have to work hard to overcome their fears to find forever ever after.

I can't finish this. I got through twenty percent. I can't get into a storyline where the female protagonist acts like a raging insult monster to a nice man and he STICKS around. When men fall for women who are "challenges", it's not romantic; instead, Declan is pathetic for seeing Avery for anything other than the foul mouthed beast she is. Avery is so brash, so rude, so un-ladylike that I simply couldn't read this. The dialogue is bad, too. Who says "you have perky sweater puppies" to friend? Women don't speak like that. We say "you have great tits", if anything.

Wow!!!

This book. I needed to read this book. I was drawn from the very first page. The passion and the steam Avery Barrows and Declan McGinn have jumps right off every page. You cannot deny the chemistry that these two have. Avery is a plus size, career woman, with a strong sense of self. Though she hides who she really is and wants to be in her male dominated field of work, Declan, the notorious playboy who doesn’t do the “relationship thing” falls head over heels for Avery. And Avery isn’t far behind him. He encourages her to be who she truly is, both in the bedroom and in everyday life. Overall it is well written and very enjoyable to read. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars!!

Thank you for this book. I’m excited to read more from Tricia Lynne and see what she has in store for future books.
