Frances and Davids story in The Duke of Kisses by Darcy Burke was inspiring and had an 'umpfh" that I loved! I highly recommend this romance story to any and all readers of the romance genre!

Franny Snowden seems to be an afterthought to her family, but then again they threw her sister, Ivy, out of their house. Now Ivy is a Duchess and invited Franny to stay with her and her family. While they are at their country home, Franny meets a stranger, David Langley, the new Earl of St. Ives. As strangers, they share a kiss. They meet again in London, to discover the attraction for each other is still present. However, there are some issues. For one, David made a deathbed promise to his father to marry the woman he chose for David when David was a mere child. Second, unknown to them both, their families hate each for an incident that happened a generation ago. As their affection (after a few more kisses) grows, will they be able to overcome the one to their being together. It doesn't help when there is his biddy of a mother, his sinister uncle, and her uncaring family. This story started a little slow, but the last one third of the tale makes up for it. Though not my favorite of the Untouchable series, but a very nice read with great characters. We get a little taste of the next book in the series featuring Ware and Sarah. Looking forward to reading it.

This was a sweet book that I enjoyed reading. I really liked both main characters. The story was well written. I read through it pretty quickly. I recommend.

Darcy Burke is great at creating swoonworthy heroes and fabulous heroines! Great blend of romance and history with that beloved historical romance witty banter and quirks. Excellent job!

This book is about Frances (Fanny) and David, the Earl of St. Ives. They meet and had chemistry from the beginning - they kiss. They both thought they were different people then who they really are - an Earl and Sister to a Duchess. One of the things I liked about them is their honesty with each other when there was a problem. Darcy Burke is a great writer and I enjoy all her books.

Darcy Burke has plenty of great books and this is another amazing addition to her collection. Her books are always full of passion and love. I can't get enough of historical romances.

Another fabulous read by the great author Darcy Burke, who always manages to get it just quite right. There’s always just the right amount of intrigue love and passion in every single book that you cannot fail to love this writer. The cover is amassing array of colours and makes you want to open the book, and your hooked right from opening up the book, the publishers have this book just right, i was dawn in right from the start and cannot rate this book highly enough. I loved this book. I could not put it down from page one till the end. I loved Fanny and David. The characters were well done and lovable. It was a fantastic Regency romance. I highly recommend this and any by Darcy Burke. I was gifted this book and am voluntarily reviewing.

Lighthearted and sweet regency about a birdwatching Duke and his deathbed promise to his father to wed one woman, which he regrets once he falls in love with another.

David, Duke of St Ives is grieving his father, and attempting to come to terms with his ducal responsibilities. He and his childhood friend Graham have both stepped up sooner than expected to their respective responsibilities of Duke and Steward. When David ‘s father was dying he extracted a promise that David would marry Miss Stoke. David is planning to go to London for the season to meet her and decide if he can marry.

Before he gets to London he is walking the countryside near his estate birdwatching, and he comes across Fanny, who has become a little loat while chasing a rabbit. They are instantly attracted to each other, however, they part ways without truly introducing themselves to each other.

Fanny Snowden lives at Stour Edge with her sister Ivy, now married to a Duke. The youngest daughter of a carpenter, she has thankfully escaped his judgmental house, to reunite with her older sister who had been thrown out of her father’s house ten years ago for falling pregnant. She is lo9king forward to the season with her sister and brother in law. She often thinks wistfully of David the Steward’s kisses, but thinks she will never see him again.

A few months later they are surprised to meet each other again in London, and the attraction is still there, clumsy Fanny enlivens their meetings by causing a spectacle at the park, or on the dance floor, and David becomes ever more drawn to her. However, his mother and uncle, and Miss Stokes and her mother bring a lot of pressure to bear on him to marry as per his promise to his father. Fanny is devastated that he hasn’t told her about this promise, but believes he should honour his father, and she retreats to her sisters country estate.

How will David resolve the conflict between his heart and his duty, and how will his remaining family feel about David following his heart. Will Fanny accept him, or will her family succeed in marrying her off to the dull and lecherous Mr Duckworth.

This romance was pleasant and the main characters were kind and honourable, and their romance was perfectly pleasant for the first 2/3 of the book, but it all fell a little flat for me. However, when the action moved to Fanny’s Parents home, and then to Huntswell, the action heated up a bit and the book really got going.

I loved Frances' propensity for being clumsy, and David's faithfulness to go after what he wanted. I'd definitely recommend this book to friends and family.

Yet another great read from Darcy Burke. In the Duke of Kisses Frances Snowden can thank her lucky stars that she has been able to take up residence with her sister. An opportunity that opens up so many more doors then she ever believed. However while visiting in the country with her sister she meets and kisses an extremely attractive man that she meets while walking through the hills. Totally inappropriate, but so totally worth it, only now she cant get her dream man out of her mind, and really, how could she ever consider looking for a husband when she is always picturing her mystery stranger?
David Langley, Earl of St. Ives is going to marry a woman that he has no interest in, all because he agreed to it while under duress, so why not kiss the beautiful woman he meets in the woods? After finding out that she works for the Duke, he knows he will never see her again, so its just a kiss right. Only problem is he cant stop thinking of that kiss, and picturing the mystery woman. So what is a man to do when he sees her in a ballroom, and discovers that she is not as she seemed at all.
Great story that shows love overcoming obstacles. I have loved every book in this series so far, and this one is no different. Definitely recommend it as a buy.

The Duke of Kisses is a wonderful read, I loved Fanny and David. They’re both good and loyal people.Their attraction to each other is palpable but there are many obstacles in their way to a happy future together. Right from the first page to last, I absolutely loved reading this one!Overall this book was well written and the characters well developed!

I could not put this down. Once I started, i was addicted. The heroine sweet, clumsy and has absolutely no filter. She speaks her mind, loves fiercely and is loyal to those she cares for. The hero is charming and funny as well kid and devoted. She wants to be free and to help others. But at the same time she wants to fall in love and to be loved unconditionally. Hes adjusting to his new identity and is struggling to keep a deathbed promise. Separate, they are determined to be who they want to be. Together they could be any thing. The story is full of secrets and half truths. It takes you on a journey from chance encounters to threats and secrets and ends exactly as it should. I cant nott wait to read Ware and Sarah's story next because I'm sure it will be just as fabulous as this one and all the rest

This is an amazing story about 2 people who were supposed to marry the boring people their families wanted them match with.... yet they come across each other and life becomes so much better. Will they be able to overcome their family objections to find their happy ever after? Definitely worth the read to find out.

If you like classic English romance than you will really enjoy The.Duke of Kisses. They overcome family drama and a crazy madman in order to have each other. I liked how headstrong the heroine is.

I will definitely look into more by this author! Well done.

I want to preface this review by saying I have loved every second of The Untouchables series. The stories are unique, the characters are darling, and the overall world building is flawless.

That being said, this book thrilled my soul less than the others. I'm not exactly sure why.

I loved Fanny and David. They had amazing chemistry, they were excellent characters, their story was adorable. For me, it was a bit lackluster. I HATE saying that because I do love this series! The dialog felt a bit stilted. I had a hard time getting into it. I am going to chalk this one up to just me being in a funk and look forward to the next.

This was absolutely the kind of story that made me think that if I read the whole series over from the beginning, I would like it more. I had a hard time recalling the details of the Duchess of Clare's (fanny's sister) story, and that threw me.

Overall, I still highly recommend this book. The Untouchables are ALWAYS a good idea.

I don’t know about you dear readers, but for me I feel I have been waiting ages to read Fanny and David’s book. So dear readers the wait is finally over, and can I just say that Ms Burke has done Fanny and David proud.

Right from the first page to last, I absolutely loved reading about Fanny and David, it all started at Christmas Eve 1817, while Fanny is out walking, when quite by chance she meets David, and according to Fanny is unbelievably handsome. Normally when you meet a gentleman you want to make a good impression…but poor Fanny is a little clumsy and lets just say David comes to her rescue and offers to walk her home. Now normally they would introduce themselves to each other and lets just say they both tell a little white lie about who they really are…but there is one thing that they feel for each and that’s the chemistry and becomes even stronger when they have a kiss.

Now dear readers that is not the end oh no, because David leaves a lasting impression on Fanny, not just the kiss but her liking of Ornithology and she is constantly reading all of West’s books on the subject in his library…but its at a ball the following April that Fanny and David meet again, and from here its a bit of a roller coaster of a ride, because it turns out there is a family feud with David’s and Fanny’s family. I hope dear readers that you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Overall this book was well written and as I’ve said before for me this book was definitely worth the wait and I’m so looking forward to book twelve.

I wanted to love it but for me the characters were rather annoying. I want a bit more passion, more alpha in both the hero and heroine to really get my interest. I liked the writing but for me the characters just didnt satisfy at all. I'll always read Darcy Burke because I usually love her books but this one just fell a tad short.
