Cam and Nic are doing their best to make their relationship work. But life keeps getting in the way. So close to nailing the bad guy and his mole(s). Discovering that the two of them together make things happen and that with their trusted friends and colleagues they are unstoppable.

Nic and Cam finally get their happy ending. Not without bad guys, intrigue, a little blood, a dead father, and a family found. Cam creates the perfect brew for his man in what I’m assuming is the final book of this series. The two of them together work, although I felt that their relationship was secondary in this book. I’m not against action at all, I just would of liked more one on one time with them. I did enjoy their story.

“Noble Hops” is the finale to the “Trouble Brewing” series and here the fairly dormant villain introduced at the start of the trilogy finally made a move. As the case against the villain and his cohort had been developing - albeit slowly - since “Trouble Brewing” and our heroes had suspects in mind, it’s safe to say this entry served as the ultimate closure and tying up some loose ends. Which naturally was done, with a twist.

The action-packed, fast-moving pace tale was told alternately from Cam and Nic’s POV. It started at a sprint and didn’t let up until the end. As I mentioned earlier, Cam and Nic actually had predicted the culprit of the crime - it was the matter of gathering evidence and proved they were the guilty parties. Which bring me to part that rather frustrated me. Without being too spoilery, while the majority of time the good guys intentionally did/said things to trap the mole(s), they were (also) taken off-guard once too many by the villains in this book. I also thought - although they were illustrated as ruthless crime lord - the thorn in Nic’s backside weren’t portrayed that cruel and cold-blooded here. One could say what started the whole thing had been a misguided romantic sense..

On the romance front, much as Cam and Nic’s relationship developing into an open and IMPROVED one, that uncertainty still struck our MCs in unfortunate times had me gritted my teeth. In all fairness, with the past they had, it lent a credible situation in a fairly new relationship. And they were rather adorable when they had their moments. But I swear these duo could be ridiculously over the top with their insecurity at times - I mean, they were practically the top honchos of their respective office! Have more confidence, why doncha!!

Rants aside, I quite liked “Noble Hops,” especially the extended side characters on the good people camp. There were two characters that particularly intrigued me (both were people from Nic’s “past lives”) and I dearly wish they’d get their own stories sometimes. Here’s hoping.

Advanced copy of this book is given by the author/publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Loved it just like the other two in this series. I adore both Nic and Cameron equally, I could never pick a favorite between the two. Both men have come so far and their relationship just keeps getting better and better.
I was worried for a quick minute over something I'm not going to spoil for everyone else. Then it hit me and I thought "oh yeah, I get it now"
The ending, ugh... LOVED IT and can't wait for more!!
Great HEA/HFN

Layla new series keep getting better and better. I’m really enjoying this as much as her previous series. Cam was in the shadows before and I’m so. Happy to see him getting his own series. There are secondary characters that are so good and you are rooting for hopefully getting a more in depth look to their life. This books left me feeling like the characters were real and you are definitely sad when it comes to an end and you have to wait for the next one.

This is my first book by Layla Reyne, and let me tell you this. Reyne was excellent with creating Nic and Cam's characters. Sadly, this is book 3 in a series, and I've missed some things with these phenomenally chiseled characters, but that didn't deter me from reading. I pushed on, and despite a bit of confusion here and there, these men captured my heart and didn't let it go til the end. Definitely worthy of 4 stars for sure! This reader is excited to get back to this series and grabbing books 1 and 2. Great job, Layla Reyne!

NOBLE HOPS is the third instalment of Cam and Nic, and we spend this book focusing on Nic's problems, and also finding out more about Vaughan, and who his moles are.

Cam and Nic are so good, even when they're not together, they are still working for the same end. They are both professionals, and are not open to PDA's whilst at work. I loved that about them. In private moments, the love and passion are there to see, but they don't allow it to rule over every aspect of their lives.

A fantastic finale, this book finishes the overall story arc in a way that completely satisfies. Do I still want more of Cam and Nic? Absolutely!! Do I love the cameos by Mel and Danny, Aiden and Jamie? You betcha!

There is nothing about this series that I do not like, and I have no hesitation in highly recommending it.

Best of the series...

This book was fun to read. Seriously, so fun for me. I can't wait to listen to it because I think that will make it even better. Knowing that the narrator is Tristan James again, and how he can bring these characters to life in a whole new way, I'm really excited for that listen.

In this edition, I loved how we finally got resolution to the storyline that started in book one. Nic and his family issues come to a head and the resolution, as well as the revolutions, equaled good time reading. Adding in Cam and his devotion to not only his job, but to Nic, it put a smile on my face.

The "family" that is included made this all the more fun. Plus, the new family member! Nic and Cam both have a great family, a great connection, and the ending that leads to their HEA was sweet. I wanted more at the end, and I'm confident that the little piece of happy I want to read about will come... eventually.

Noble Hops is mostly focused on Nic's fight against Vaughn (an enemy introduced in book 1). We get to see both Nic and Cam in action as they work together to bring down Vaughn once and for all. Vaughn also has a mole in the DOJ as well as the FBI, but we find out pretty early who they are so there isn't a lot of mystery.
On the romance front, the reappearance of a figure from Nic's past leads to some conflict. I was glad that Cam and Nic handled the situation very maturely and with minimal drama. Nic has a lot of personal issues to deal with in this book and Cam remains supportive throughout.
Overall, this book is fast-paced and a quick read. I really enjoyed it and it serves as a satisfying conclusion to Cam and Nic's story.

Gahhhhhd! I love Nick and Cam so much. This author is just outstanding with romantic suspense. The pace of the book was perfect, great banter, delicious tension . A wonderful end to a great series.

I need more stars! Lordy but this book was good and it perfectly wrapped up the Trouble Brewing series with a comprehensively tight and fast paced plot.

So many times while reading this my heart was in my mouth wondering just where it was going to go next and how our merry band of suits was going to take the bad guy down.

I won't be spoilering anything, but suffice it to say, the pay off is well worth the efforts expended to reach it and Cam and Nic are as solid as the rock of Gibraltar when it comes to their love and commitment to each other.

There are some surprises on the way, I'd guessed one of them but not necessarily the same circumstances it arose in, but other than that, I was biting my metaphorical nails right to the end.

I'm hoping the next foray will be a sideways shuffle across to the Coast Guard where I'd like to see someone get the better of Eddie and humble him with love!

I love this series! I can't get enough of Dominic and Cameron. The book is exciting, intense, romantic, and with a little angst. Dominic and Cameron have been through so much but the love that they have for another prevail throughout the book. Layla Rayne never disappoints with any of her books.
NIc finding his family is the perfect ending for the series. Looking forward to any other books for Ms. Reyne.

I almost didn't request this one because I was so let down by the previous book in the series, Craft Brew. Noble Hops has a fairly well thought through plot and not a page is wasted. Craft Brew was just a bit all over both setting up this book and following it's own action. I did still have the problem where Cam and Nic are a bit too similarly written and I have a hard time remembering who is who in the narrative. Still I liked the ending of Nic's family drama and how the action and legal thriller sides came together. The police work is a little suspect (I"m pretty sure Nic should have recused himself but I'm also not an expert so maybe it was fine) in places, but ugh I didn't come into this series looking for precision.

This book had everything I could have wanted. The connection between Nic and Cam is evident on every page. Whether they are enjoying down time together or caught up in a case they always are there for each other. So much is thrown at them this time around. New family, old lovers, enemies! They need to dig deep and count on their friends to move through it all.

I love how much their relationship has evolved. They are true partners, in every sense of the word. This series has been such a joy to read. I'm hoping we catch snippets of their lives going forward, I'm not ready to let them go!

"Hand on his shoulder, Cam spun him around, cutting off his words with a thief of a kiss - stealing his breath, his heart, his whole world. He could take it all, as long as Nic got to spend the rest of his life tasting his beer on Cam's lips."

I have to be honest, I'm a wee bit bummed. I absolutely ADORE Cam and Nic, but the suspense element completely overshadowed everything. Don't get me wrong, the suspense element was really good...but I'm a romance reader first and foremost, and there really wasn't as much of it here as I would have liked.

This was more of a suspense novel that happened to have a couple in love as its main characters.

But still, even with that, Cam and Nic owned my heart! ♥ ♥ ♥

4* Layla Reyne saved the best for last. Satisfying ending to this series.

I didn't think this series was as a much of a romance as AIW was; it felt more like a lot of mixed stuff happening without anyone having enough time to prioritise anything. I didn't quite know what it was - law enforcement procedural, sort-of romance, extension of sorts of the AIW series, but overall it read quite well, just not in enough depth to satisfy me as a reader of romance, primarily. But, the author can write and yes, she does weave a tale that has to be followed over several books, so no, they can't be read as standalones.

This last one was pretty well done - sister lost-found (previous book, but it sort of follows on), sister found, ex-lover turned family, case solved and a HEA for Cam and Nic, and demons slayed, buried and forgotten, and personal success. And, there's the usual appearances from the Talleys (and their wealth *eye-roll*, lol!).

I was hoping that the baddie who's haunted Nic would get his comeuppance, and said baddie's... minion, too, but that part was actually rather anticlimactic. Still, there was enough action in the tale to keep my interest throughout. It does tie up ends and is surprisingly romantic, right at the very end.

And, I suspect we've been introduced to a future lead of another MM tale, and possibly a MF one.

This was intense as hell. There was pain, loss, and danger as Cam becomes the rock Nic needs this time around. The storyline was just a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end and I was drawn in from the first page. Layla Reyne has once again given readers complex characters who stick around long after the last page is read. This was a great ending to Cam and Nic's story and I loved every minute of it.

I am so sad that this series is done. Maybe we will get G's story. There was a lot that went on in this book. Nic struggled so much in this one, especially when he is starting to feel happy with his life with Cam and is excited for his future. Then his father mysteriously dies, he finds out that he has a sister and an old love comes back. He is now drowning in more guilt and wants to keep everyone safe because the treats are real & there is no guarantee that everyone is going to survive. The case against Vaughn comes to a head & Cam is confident that Nic will win the case & everything will go back to normal. But then the old love comes back into Nic's life & Cam is so scared that he will lose Nic & he is uncertain about their future. But it all boils down that their love for each other is strong and they are there to keep each other strong. When his sister is taken, it's Cam's turn to step up and keep Nic from losing it, just like Nic did for him in the last book. We find out who the mole is in both the FBI & the AUSA's office, I knew all along who the one was because I hated him from the moment he step on page long ago & I wanted it to be him. The other I didn't figure out. I actually thought it was someone else but I was wrong. It was great seeing everyone from both series and hope we are not leaving this world just yet.

Wow this one was very good!

It kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole thing, especially there at the end!

The story continues with Nic and Cam living together and everything finally looking better for them. But the sudden death of Nic’s father brings everything to a halt and from then on things get dangerous.

Nic wants to be happy but with Vaughn still free and the people closer to him in danger, he can’t have that yet. His father’s death brings another issue to his life. More surprises and people and a family getting bigger. The danger escalates but he is willing to do anything for them.

Cam feels secure with Nic until a person from Nic’s past comes and makes him question everything. But Cam cares a lot about Nic and he will do anything for him.

They want Vaughn behind bars but there is a mole or two between them, stopping them at every turn. And with Bowers acting weird which we saw very clearly in the previous books, they keep things between them and with people they know.

The action and the case building against Vaughn is for sure going to keep you on the edge of your seat and turning page after page without wanting to stop. It sure did that to me!

I loved this story so much. I wanted more and I really hope to see certain characters from the book get their own story and their happy ending!

A solid 4.5 star!!!

I never did manage to write the reviews for either the Irish and Whiskey trilogy or the first two books of this one, despite these couples being some of my favorites of this year. And I couldn’t contain my excitement when I got approved for this advance copy immediately after I requested, because I really have been waiting to know the conclusion for Nic and Cam’s story. All the intrigue that has been slowly building up for two books finally comes to a head here and I had such fun reading this in a single sitting.

It was difficult to see Nic struggle so much in this book, especially when he just starts feeling happy in his life with Cam and is excited for his future. With his father’s mysterious death and the existence of a sibling revealed along with some of his painful past coming back, he is drowning more in his guilt and wants to keep everyone in his new found family safe. Cam is confident that Nic will succeed in his case and everything will finally go back to normal, but seeing ghosts of Nic’s past leaves him feeling uncertain about their future. He also has to use all his K&R expertise to as well as his love for Nic to keep him from floundering.

It was great to see their relationship grow into such a strong one that even extreme circumstances can’t really separate them. And I finally got what I was waiting for – seeing Nic in his full AUSA mode, building his case, both in and out of the courtroom, outmaneuvering his opponents and never losing sight of his goal even in the direst of circumstances. He is expertly supported by Cam every step of the way – as a partner on the case, a sounding board keeping him tethered to reality and doing the one thing Nic needs most, keeping their family safe. Though the individual mysteries in this series have been interesting, I was quite sure that the mystery related to Vaughn would be predictable, but the author succeeds in pleasantly surprising us there too. Despite seeing the excellent support system this group of friends make in Barrel Proof, it is even more evident in this book where there is more danger and the professional lives of Nic and Cam are at stake. It was such fun to see Aidan, Jamie, Mel, Lauren and all other new additions like AD Moore, Eddie and Garrett play significant roles in finally bringing the truth out and get justice for Nic.

This is a great ending to the amazing love story of Nic and Cam, with a very adorable final chapter that had me grinning all the way through. This book had all the elements I have come to expect from this series – love, friendship, suspense and action – all in good doses, keeping us readers on our toes every step of the way. I’m also sad that the series is over but hope we’ll get a wedding novella, just like we got one for Irish and Whiskey. And do I detect a possible couple for a new series… let’s wait and watch.
