Rock Rebel was another amazing book by Tara Leigh! I love this series about rockers and I honestly couldn't get of this book!
I loved the instant attraction and banter, the conflict, the love, the angst, the (HOT) sex scenes, humor, all the characters (in this whole series).

This was a great ending to a fantastic series.

Rock Rebel is the third book in the 'Nothing But Trouble' series. After reading the first two books in the series I was seriously intrigued by Dax's character. I am loving this series. Each book is filled with not only romance but also suspense. There's always a secret laying in the path ahead. Which when uncovered, leads to some great angsty moments.

Rock Rebel was a great read but I sadly found this novel to be a tad bit predictable. I guessed the ending from the start. But with that in mind, I still somewhat enjoyed the content.

I love when Rock Star heroes mesh together with Rock Star Harlots. I love witnessing their careers blend together. With Rock Rebel, we are introduced to Verity Moore. Verity is a former child star who is trying to pave a new path in the music industry. Verity was an interesting character, I loved her backstory and the depths of fear and emotions she feels on a daily basis having gone through the shit she went through. It was eye opening.
So when mixing her story in with Dax's mysterious vibes, it results in some serious suspense and tension.

Overall, Rock Rebel by Tara Leigh was a great read but the downside was my ability to easily predict the ending. But on a positive note, I loved the characters, the chemistry, and the premise of this novel.

I love Tara Leigh's writing in general! It's the right balance of straight-forward and descriptive, steamy and dramatic, with well-built characters., and Rock Rebel is no different. Verity and Dax are both complex characters with relatable voices. Sure, they're rich and famous, but they're real people, too. Their friendship is believable and their chemistry jumps off the pages. Verity and Dax are easy to 'ship, and their story is made richer by the wealth of secondary characters (whether or not you've met them in other books in this series!)

My one (kinda ridiculous) complaint is that there were a few somewhat off-putting metaphors that threw me for the next few pages. They were always perfectly apt and very original, but I just get horribly sidetracked if you compare anything to an abused puppy.

Regardless, I recommend this book as well as the Nothing but Trouble series in general. It IS a standalone, but there are some minor "duh" type spoilers based on characters' relationships.

This rock star romance far exceeded my expectations. I honestly didn't plan to like this book, the rock/movie star romances just aren't my favorite. However, I found myself really rooting for the heroine in this novel and appreciated that it addressed the realities of the industry for women. There are two other books in Leigh's Nothing But Trouble series, and I'm planning on reading them all.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy for an honest review.

I have a new rock star addiction and I am not afraid to admit that I am a Nothing But Trouble groupie. Dax has an unexpected past. It was refreshing and stunning. Then there was the heartbreak of it that tugs on your heart strings! Verity broke me into pieces with her vulnerability.

Now in the present, Verity and Dax rekindle their chemistry and they cannot help but fall for each other. There are so many obstacles and a few more pages you will be gasping about. The emotions will all be there! I love Tara Leigh's rock start series!! I will forever be fan girling!

I’m not one that generally falls for rocker books but there’s been a few! Rock Rebel is a fantastic story! I seriously adored Verity Moore. She reminds me so much of myself as a teenager. I remember going hog wild with a bit of freedom. This is what happens for Verity. She’s been managed for years by her mom. Her mom has some short reigns on her. Now here we are, of age, and Verity is ready for a taste of freedom. She makes some mistake and has some good ol’ wild times. Now she’s on track… she’s getting her life back together… she’s ready to sign and have a manager that only manages her career, not her life.

Dax Hughes is fabulous! He’s totally a strong character. A child prodigy who’s the lead guitarist for a major band, Nothing But Trouble. Dax had his heart broken and so closed that part of himself off. He doesn’t love. He doesn’t trust. He doesn’t date women in the music industry. But… there’s Verity. Young and vibrant with insane chemistry. I fell head over heels watching Dax fall!

Tara Leigh shows us what it’s like to fall in love when you have closed yourself off… what it’s like to learn to trust and to open up again. Verity and Dax are like apples and cinnamon… fantastic and beautiful together but everything goes to another level when they combine. Leigh’s writing flows. It’s beautiful and warmed my heart. The steady build up of the story and the relationship. The sexual tension between these two was vibrant… was strong… real.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

I love rock stars romances! Is one of my favorites tropes, so I needed to get my hands on this one.
As I haven't read anything from Tara Leigh, I decided to start by this one, even being #3 in the series can be read as a standalone.

#metoo movement is an important element in this story, which gives us a very intense point of view from the victims.

Dax is just sexy and adorable. I loved his character and Verity is quite badass!
I loved how she did everything to prove herself she was able to stand tall! The way their slow burn relationship evolved drove me crazy!!

Since this was book #3 in the series and several characters from the other books were in this one, I will be reading books #1 and #2 because I feel like I have to know everything about them!

Rock Rebel was a great addition to Leigh's Nothing But Trouble series. I was really excited to read Dax's story and it didn't disappoint. I loved the chemistry between Verity and Dax. I loved the storyline as well. Mostly, I loved seeing past series characters. It was just a tiny bit hard for me to connect with Verity right off the bat, but I was able too eventually. Overall, this was a wonderful read!

I was waiting for Dax and Verity's story for a while, while reading Rock Legend you could tell there was something going on between the two of them and if there wasn't there should have been. Well, there was because this story takes place along side part of that book. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone but I feel you will enjoy each of the stories more if you read them in order, that being said I do not feel that you will be lost if you do not read the first two books in the series.

If you don't know the meaning behind the word Verity, here it is: TRUTH!

ver·i·ty /ˈverədē/
noun
a true principle or belief, especially one of fundamental importance. "the eternal verities"
truth. "irrefutable, objective verity"

Verity's truth is a hard one so please be aware if you have triggers, her truth follows along the lines of the #METOO movement and it might be hard for some to read about.

Dax and Verity are perfect for one another but please don't think it was an easy road for them because it really wasn't there was a lot going on but this is a spoiler free review so you'll just have to read the book to find out what happens. Just know that there is an HEA at the end of it all. While I have enjoyed and even loved the other two books in the Nothing But Trouble Series, Rock Rebel is my favorite. I love a good book boyfriend which Dax is but Verity is one strong, kicka$$ woman that really made the book for me. If you have been abused, or know someone who has, I know it's not an easy choice whether you choose to stay silent or come out the choice is always a difficult one - just know there is help out there. Your local place or worship, a police station, the hospital, the community center, there are even places online that can help even if you don't want to turn the person in, just to have someone to talk to about it can help a lot. Be Safe, Be Well, Be Loved.

Happy Reading!!!

I should have realized that this was a series! UGH. I feel like I lost something not knowing that in the first place.

This was an okay read. I feel like there was a lot left unanswered. I'm guessing it's because I haven't read the others. Hopefully the unanswered things got pulled together in the next book.

With „Rock Rebel” Tara Leigh wrote her bet Nothing But Trouble book. It’s another beautiful, emotional, rock star romance between two characters who are broken and misunderstood who find something truly amazing together. Believe me when I say. You will be instantly sucked in and you will fell in love in the rollercoaster ride that is Dax and Verity story.
Verity Moore is a former childhood TV star. She lived with her mum who was also her manager who controlled everything that concerned Verity, including who all of the money that she earned. Verity was expected to do everything to be a success. But as it often happens in show business after three seasons her show got canceled. And at this point she was of age so she was finally able to take off, cause she was finally free and she was finally able to figure out who she truly was. So as it often happens she made few mistakes and sometimes things got a little wild. Now she is in LA and is ready to start new. She finally has a chance to do what she wanted to do all her life and that would be singing. She has big chance to be managed by the same manager, Travis Taggert, who is also a manager of the famous band Nothing But Trouble.
Dax Hughes is the lead guitarist of said band who grew up as a child prodigy that could play any musical instrument that was put in his hands. He was raised to play classical music and studied at Juliard. But when person who he thought to be his one true love left him he decided to chase her to LA where he met the band and found totally new way to express his music. But Dax never recovered and he doesn’t trust anyone and definitely doesn’t get involved with female musicians. But it all changes when he meets Verity for the first time and the electricity and chemistry between them was crazy. Part of him wanted to run but the other part of him wanted to stay and figure out who this woman was.
For Verity is her chance to make it big to go on the tour with Nothing But Trouble as their opening act. At the same time she can’t get Dax off her mind. But if she gives in to this attraction, the world will think she was given this chance because she slept her way in. She can’t take that chance, no matter how badly she wants him. On the other hand Dax does everything he is able to stay away but he just can’t. He is just tired of fighting whatever it is between them yet still he doesn’t feel worthy of her. He sees everything good in her, both with her talent and what is on the inside. Whatever it is between them, he needs it to survive. Verity is so ashamed of her past. She has been used by every single person that has been in her life. But on a deep level, she knows that Dax is different. That he sees her as a woman, not a commodity. And that’s the moment when I stop. If you want to know if they will be together or not you need to read this book and believe me when I say it’s totally worth it and you definitely won’t regret it.
Tara Leigh has written her best Nothing But Trouble Book with Rock Rebel. Variety and Dax are perfection. The strength Variety musters up to endure and fight for her own HEA is inspiring, and Dax as her supporter and man is brilliant. These two are kind of couple goals for totally everyone.

I was patiently waiting for this one to come out. I was always curious of Dax’s story and what I got in this book, lord give me more!!!!

Verity Moore, strong, brave, and I couldn’t have loved this character more. This author made Verity one of my favorite heroines ever. Obviously this story has many controversial circumstances played out in it, but the way this amazing author ties it all up, brilliant, breathtaking, simply amazing. It was like seriously reading a real life story. It’s so damn real. To me, I couldn’t wait to see Verity get her HEA, so much deserved!!!

Dax Hughes, super sexy rock star, a super edgy man that doesn’t look for anything more than a one night stand if that. When he comes face to face with Verity Moore, his life changes on the spot. The coincidences of the crazy connections of these two, blew me away. Another reason I loved this story, it kept surprising me. This book wasn’t a story that was predictable to me, heck no, things kept happening that would make me swoon, make me laugh, make me tear up, and often shocked me with how easy it seemed so real life. Dax grew during this story, he became stronger and he finally followed his heart and let go of his past. I loved his growth, and I definitely loved his heart.

Thank you my dear, Tara Leigh, for this book, and for the chance to read it. This whole damn series, it’s been such a wonderful and lovable journey. I can not wait to read more books by you in the future ❤️

Rock Rebel just might be the best book in the Nothing But Trouble series. Dax and Verity are amazing characters with electrifying chemistry. Verity is a strong woman with a past that could have destroyed her. But Dax is just the person Verity needs in her life to support her in the next step moving forward. But will Dax’s secret destroy the trust between them?
Tara’s writing is wonderful and heartbreaking, that you will get sucked into this world and never want to leave it. All of her characters are really like a big family you want to be a part of. I am looking forward to Jett’s story next.

Oh wow! Another beautiful, emotional romance from Tara Leigh! A rockstar romance between two broken and misunderstood characters who find something amazing together. I was sucked right in and loved the rollercoaster ride of Dax and Verity’s story.

Dax is the quiet, more reserved member of rock band Nothing But Trouble - lead guitarist, musical prodigy and secret songwriter. He grew up in the world of classical music and up until a few years ago he was performing on stage with his family, until he gave it all up for a love which crashed and left him devastated when his girl proved she was more committed to a career in the industry than she was to him. But he picked himself up and found happiness and brotherhood with his bandmates, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Verity Moore is known as a “disgraced former pop star”. Forced into stardom by her fame-hungry mother, she was cast in a TV-show about a young singer which saw her reach epic levels of celebrity. But the sacrifices to get there have left her emotionally scarred and damaged. She left the show and struggled to find herself all in the eye of the gossip-hungry public who gloried in her downfall. Now 24, she has pulled her life back together and she is fighting for the future that she wants, as a singer. She has just landed herself a new agent, one that she shares with Nothing But Trouble, and she has landed a gig as their opening act on their upcoming tour.

Sparks fly from Dax and Verity’s first meeting, but he is initially clueless as to who she is. And once he finds out, he backs off, wanting nothing to do with anybody in the business after being burned so badly. Verity is also hesitant to start anything with Dax, not wanting anybody to believe that she is on the tour simply because she’s sleeping with one of the band members. It’s a tricky situation, complicated by Dax and Verity’s incredible pull to each other, and the chemistry and intensity is sizzling from the very beginning.

This man could swallow me whole. Consume me. Own me.
And I might just let him.

As much as they try to fight it, Dax and Verity’s attraction is irresistible. And as they get to know each other, they realise that there is so much more to the other than they originally thought, and they begin to genuinely feel something for each other, and OMG, their angsty longing is just delicious!

“I haven’t wanted anything but music in a long time.” A deep groan wrenched from me as I roughed fingers through my hair. “Never planned on wanting another woman – not any one in particular. But I want you, Verity. So fucking badly.”

They have ups and downs and there is a fair bit of back and forth as they fight the battle between the heads and their hearts (and their libidos), and I was glued to my kindle as it all unfolded. It’s sweet, emotional, dramatic and frustrating, but it’s so romantic and, hell yes, it’s sexy as they fall deeper and deeper for each other, unable to resist, and their passionate intensity practically leaps off the page!

Dax’s hands were everywhere. Mine were wrapped around his neck, my fingers threading into his scalp and holding on for dear life as he took my body on the ride of its life.

“Tell me, what exactly are your intentions?”
He dropped a gentle kiss on the tip of my nose, his hips moving again, his cock sliding back into place. “That’s simple, baby. I’m makin’ you mine.”

Of course there are dramas, they still have a lot from their pasts that they have to deal with, and there are some fantastic twists and turns to their story. I loved the way that Leigh brought relevance and reality to her story by tying in the #metoo movement, and I thought Verity’s story was a fantastic exploration of how easily a hopeful actor can be taken advantage of in such tragically devastating ways, and the emotional impact of that abuse. And the strength she shows to pick herself up and move on is really inspiring. I just loved her as a character, and Dax stole my heart as the broken man finding love again. They are absolutely beautiful together, and I was completely invested in them as a couple. I loved the way they opened up to each other, and the friend/lover/musical partner vibe that they shared.

“Tell me something true,” …
“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than right here with you, tonight.”

The timeframe of this book overlaps with the previous book in the series Rock Legend, and it contains spoilers for that one so I wouldn’t recommend reading this as a standalone. But I have loved each of the books in this series, so you wouldn’t want to miss out on those anyway!

I loved this book. It’s a beautifully emotional love story that stole my heart, and I can’t wait for final band member, Jet, to meet his match in the next book.

4.5 stars.

Rock Rebel was not your traditional rock star romance and I really loved the story that Tara Leigh delivers to bring Dax and Verity together.

Verity Moore was everything I love in a heroine. She is strong and determined; she knows the value of family, but she also knows that sometimes tough love is the only kind that can work; she has been knocked down but she isn’t afraid to get up and try again; and she us determined to make the best choices for herself, not the ones to please others.

Dax Hughes is so much more than a rock star. He’s been burned bad in love and he’s determined not to make the same mistakes again – mistakes that he still hasn’t cleaned up, but until he meets Verity he’s never had the motivation to set his life straight. He’s strong yet sensitive and even though he fights his feelings for Verity once he finds out who she is, once he’s in he’s committed.

Dax and Verity were a great couple. Their chemistry was instantaneous, but I loved the way their relationship took more time to develop into anything real. There was such a great push and pull between these two, which sometimes doesn’t work for me, but knowing what Verity needed to do and realizing that Dax needed to come to terms with his own issues, having these two orbit around each other before finally giving in to each other made sense.

There is some real sensitive content addressed, and I appreciated how the author was able to tell Verity’s story in a way to make her even stronger and not be a victim. And I was right there with Dax , standing with Verity as she faced her past…even knowing that Dax was also staring at a part of his.

This is my first book from this author and I enjoyed her writing style and dialogue. And even though this is book 3 in the series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. The extended band/friend group helped tell Dax and Verity’s story, and I need to go back and read the first two books to see what I missed.

This is definitely a book that should appeal to anyone, rock star lover or not. The only caution would be the potential trigger found in Verity’s past, but again, the author does a wonderful job telling her story to portray strength and not victimization – well done Tara Leigh!

I really love this book. Even though I haven't read the previous part I didn't think that I missed something. All the characters are introduced properly.
Verity is a lovely girl. She is strong and I really respect her. She had a s*itty past and she overcame it and became stronger in spite of the awful things that happened to her.
Dax is also an amazing man. He was burned in the past too. That is why his heart was so guarded and protective. He didn't want to promise her things that he couldn't have delivered. I think that was very considerate of him. He has a really amazing personality.
The book is intense and I even cried at times, because it made me really connected with characters and their feelings.
You have to read this book.

Another fabulous read from this author!

"The man was a song I didn't know the chorus to. A chord chart with missing notes. Frustrating. And so, so tempting."

Verity Moore desperately needs to give her career a facelift and also escape her mother's controlling clutches. When an opportunity of a lifetime comes along, she wants to grab it with both hands. However, a chance meeting with Dax Hughes throws things into something of a disarray for her.

"I was hungry. Hungry for everything Verity was willing to give. Hungrier still for all she was holding back."

Dax Hughes' number one rule is not to get involved with a woman in the industry. However, the mystery girl he meets in the elevator makes an indelible impression on him. When he later finds out that she's Verity Moore, he does his damnedest to keep her at arm's length. However, their electrifying connection is impossible to ignore. Unfortunately, both are harbouring secrets - secrets that could break them.

"This invisible thread between us - I knew it deep in my soul. It was universal, primal and powerful."

I loved this story. Verity and Dax were a compelling couple. Both, especially Dax, were fighting their mutual attraction hard but once they gave in to their desires, they were incandescent together! I loved the trust they built between them and how Verity gave Dax hope for future happiness. The plot was fantastic and I never saw the twist coming! Thoroughly recommend this series!

This was the first book I ever read from this author and it did not disappoint. In fact, I think I might go back and read the other titles in this series. It was a fast read filled with heartbreak, suffering and discovery. Although it seamed fast paced because I thought some connections were missing from the story line, but it did not change my overall opinion. I need to read the others, it got me wanting more.

I had only read one book by Tara Leigh—Rock King, which I unfortunately didn’t love—before reading this one and to be quite honest I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it more than I did Rock King. Surprisingly though, I enjoyed this book way more! Well, maybe not WAY more but more.

Rock Rebel is quite an intense story. I found it to be beautifully written and full of emotion. It not only broke my heart with topics like abuse but it also stitched it back together with the strength of the main characters and their powerful and beautiful love. It is heartbreakingly real and very relevant and I think that’s why I enjoyed it more.

I have to admit that while I enjoyed pretty much everything about the story along with the wonderful writing, I still found myself skim reading most of the story and that’s partly because it was a bit fast-paced for me and also due to Dax. Dax, the hero, is not my favorite character ever. If it weren’t for his POV I probably would have given this book four stars. I definitely could have done without reading everything going on inside his head and that’s very unlike me since I LOVE reading male POVs. I just felt like from the very beginning his mind always went straight to the physical and sexual things but hey, maybe that just me and I got it all wrong.

If you’re into rock star romances that are very romantic, emotional and fast-paced then consider adding this book to your TBR. BUT before you pick it up, definitely keep in mind that it deals with some triggering topics like abuse and the #metoo movement.
