This book it's really enjoyable and informative if you're curious about Broadway and how everything works in there. Every chapter tells a different section and the examples and details are really helpful.

2.5 stars - Tiffany Haas has had a successful career on Broadway and beyond and in this book aims to present the ins and outs of trying to follow in her footsteps. There's a lot of information here and plenty of caution that this is not an easy career choice to follow. This makes for an odd mix of tones to the book. It's both a pep talk for how hard work will make it happen for you and with lots of excitement (there are too many exclamation points to count) but also at times a tempt to persuade the reader against following the path. The biggest difficulty is that the book is neither narrative nor a handbook. The information that is presented is not always done so in an organized manner. This leads to occasional redundancy and also some gaps in explanation. Some things are explained from an assumption that the reader is unfamiliar with the industry and others that someone is already involved but without building on previous information as well as it might, All of which leads to a lack of clarity as to whether this book is trying to aim at an audience beyond people who are already quite familiar with the industry. Haas's personal anecdotes are by far the most interesting parts of the book. For the high school actor looking to make it as a working actor this will be an entertaining and instructional read, even if it could have been organized better.
