A huge thank you to NetGalley and St. Martins Press for giving me an Arc of this book in exchange for my honest review. Lately all the books in this genre, that I have read, have fallen flat for me and thankfully this one was written to get me out of that cycle.

Toxic Relationships
Lies to Mislead
Lies to Protect

Those are a few phrases that cover this book. You don’t really know who to trust or what really happened because the man character, Chloe has lost all of her memories in an accident and slowly recovers them through out the book. Of course, this concept has been done before but this time it is done very well and in a logical way. You can feel the frustration of Chloe as she fights to learn what happened to her. The more she finds out, the more confused she becomes. She has no way of knowing who is lying to her and who is telling the truth.

This was written is such as way that I had a movie of it playing in my head as I read. I finished it in 3 hours because I could not put it down. Even though I did figure out what was going on long before the end I really enjoyed reading this book and definitely recommend it.

Chloe wakes up in hospital following a serious car accident. She cannot remember anything - even her name. When you have no history, who do you trust? Who is lying to you and why? Fascinating and fast paced suspense novel with plenty of twists and turns.

Between the Lies # NetGally
Michelle Adams

Well, your second book, in my eyes, is a great read. To say I enjoyed it is obvious. I loved the main character, Chloe. She had such courage throughout all her hardships. To figure out that all those closest to you were lying to you, makes you want to protect her. She is a very insecure, vulnerable young woman who loses her memory and struggles to recover it.

“Now I see everything through different eyes. Back then I thought there was no hope of remembering who I was. Who I am. But now, I know that hope resides in the darkest of places. You just have to be prepared to search in the shadows, because alongside them, you will always find the light.”

This to me sums up the message of Between the Lies. A resounding 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGally, the author and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read an advanced copy in return of an honest review.

Incredible book, wonderful story, excellent characters. I can't say enough good things about this book. From page one I was hooked. Riveting and suspenseful, but all good things must come to an end. Going to check to see if this author rote any other novels, hope so, Ten star rating from me!

I know there have been so many amnesia books on the market over the last several years but this is one that shouldn't be missed!
It's one thing to wake up and not have any idea what's going on but it's another to wonder if your family is actually trying to keep you from remembering who you were before your accident.
When Chloe begins to catch her family in lie after lie she struggles to find someone who can help her realized exactly what happened and what part she played in the accident that took her memory. As the past slowly starts to come back to her in pieces she beings seeking out the help of others and is shocked at what she discovers.

Fast pace read, left you wondering what was truth and what wasn't. Good read, if you are looking for a mystery/thriller Ending was bit rushed.

Thanks to Netgalley/Author/Publisher for ARC of the book.

Well written Suspense book. Hats off the the author. I wont call this a thriller since i found the middle of the book repetitive and slow moving. The happily ever after ending was gives a feel good feeling, does not fit in well with the tone of the plot. I liked the book for the twist in the end with what constitutes to the car crash and events after. Look forward to other books by this author.

Between the Lies is a riveting story about a woman who wakes up after an accident with no memory of her past. She really doesn't trust anyone and she instinctively feels that her parents are lying to her about some very serious issues that have something to do with her predicament. The characters are perplexing, gloomy and well developed with suspicious undercurrents. This is one of those novels you don’t want to put down. The author hooked me in from the very first page and held my interest throughout the entire story. I think this is an excellent book. I highly recommend it. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow what a suspenseful read... at first I had no idea how this book was going to turn out but after the first chapter I was hooked. I loved the different characters perspectives. You truly did not know what kind of lies these characters were telling to others and even to themselves. A must read! Kept me guessing until the very end.

Thanks Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a creepy/dark thriller that had me turning pages to reach the end as fast as possible.

The main character woke up in hospital with no memory and all those around her paint her life as picture perfect, only problem is that she soon has glimpses into her past and it has nothing to do with the lies she has been told.

The plot is pacey with plenty of twists and turns and a satisfactory ending, recommended read.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this book was excellent. It is about a woman who has awakened after a bad car accident with no memory of her previous life or the details of the accident. She is staying with her parents and younger sister and no one is telling her the truth about her past life or what happened. She starts piecing things together and the story unfolds.

This was a real page turner. I couldn't put it down. There were so many twists and turns and new information kept being discovered. It definitely held my interest throughout. I am now planning to read this author's first book and looking forward to her next.

When Chloe awakens from the lengthy coma she's been in since the accident that killed her young son and left her with a traumatic brain injury, she has almost total amnesia.. Not only can she not, at first, 'remember that she had one., or a husband or career , much less the accident itself. But her father, an eminent psychiatrist whose specialty is the reconciliation of memory, with drugs and hypnosis to erase past traumas, thinks this is an opportunity to help his daughter forget the past and move on with her life. Because there are secrets that he - and everyone else in Chloe' s immediate circle - prefer she never remembers.
Entirely predictable and not especially original in terms of plot and characters.

Between the Lies is my 1st Michelle Adams book I've read, thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an ARC of Between the Lies in exchange for a fair, honest review.

Chloe has just survived a near death experience and does not remember who she is, or what caused her accident that left her with a brain bleed and severe brain injury. She doesn't know who she can trust but she feels instinctively that her parents are lying to her about some very serious truths that led to her current state. Her father giving her a type of therapy that leaves her confused and foggy is very concerning for multiple reasons. Relatives should never treat family as patients. Ever. Why doesn't Chloe have any way into the outside world? No mobile phone? There are still payphones? I'm picturing iconic red phone boxes like London is famous for, although most of this book takes place near Brighton in UK. As Chloe sees familiar faces and places, snippets of memories trickle in to her mind. It was startling the lies her father told her in the pretense of protecting her. Chloe remembers the 1st time she had with Andrew, and how her father found them together, he struck her, called her a slut and threatened Andrew. I suppose most dads of teenage girls would feel the same way, my dad certainly would have, but not actually done what Chloe's father did, his poor judgment put Chloe more in danger from his colleague who became obsessed with her. There were certainly a few red herrings but I was still surprised at the ending, it was impossible to predict. The writing was crisp, descriptive and clear. I would definitely read another of Adams' books in the future.

ONE WORD: Creepy

Chloe has no memory of her life before the accident. She doesn’t remember her parents or sister. Her psychiatrist father is using his experimental treatment to help her, or so he says. Chloe feels like a prisoner in her childhood home and everyone seems to be lying to her.

The hairs on the back of my neck rose in horror as I muddled through the first few chapters of BETWEEN THE LIES. Chloe’s controlling father treats her with an emotional incestuous closeness that made me hate him and feel anger toward her mother and sister for allowing him to manipulate her. I wouldn’t have been surprised if the father had or was still molesting her.

Poor Chloe is fed so many lies she had no one to trust. As a reader neither did I. Michelle Adams never let up in tension, though paced the story slower in the beginning that I would have liked, but once the lies were uncovered one by one, I couldn’t put the book down.

BETWEEN THE LIES in a tension-filled, compelling, unputdownable thriller.

What would you do if you woke up and didn't know who you were?
Chloe Daniels regains consciousness in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
She doesn't recognise the strangers who call themselves family. She can't even remember her own name.

What if your past remained a mystery?
As she slowly recovers, her parents and sister begin to share details of her life.
The successful career. The seaside home. The near-fatal car crash. But Chloe senses they're keeping dark secrets—and her determination to uncover the truth will have devastating consequences.

What if the people you should be able to trust are lying to you? This one reminded me of the book Before I Go To Sleep, and just as well as I liked that one, I liked Between The Lies. Quick read with a satisfactory ending.

I was given this book from NetGalley for an honest review - Chloe wakes up with no memory of her accident or who she is - What happened to her? Why won't anyone tell her? why does it seem like lies or different stories each time she asks?
Even when I thought I had figured out this book I was wrong.
Grab this book for a thrilling read. This was a very exciting book!

Every facet of Chole Daniels life is a complete mystery to her, she can't even remember her own name, let alone the people standing in front of her claiming to be her family. The doctors tell her she has amnesia, so it may take some time to remember all the details of her life, but with time and healing it all may return to her... or not. In the meantime they are sending her home with the strangers that are claiming to be her family, hoping the return home will be just enough familiarity to spawn some missing memories. But the minute she walks into their home, a foreign feeling settles over her, one that has her feeling as though someone is lying to her... and she may not be as safe with these people as they claim. She just needs one little memory to hit and point her in the right direction...

Between the Lies will have you scooting to the edge of your seat and taking notice, this thrilling little tale is riddled with unsettling secrets and lies. And as they pile up, the more confusing things will become for not only the heroine, but also the reader, this one is certain to twist the thoughts and have you second guessing things at every turn. I must say this newest offering from Ms. Adams made for an impressive introduction, the dramatically thrilling story line kept me flying through the pages and teetering nervously on the edge of my seat throughout. If you enjoy thrillers I highly recommend you check this one out, it promises to rattle you to your core!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Although the mystery was very good and kept me guessing to the end, I felt it was a little drawn out and I felt like I wanted to give a push to get moving. Why didn't the loss of her son effect her more than just a mention now and then. She seemed to find her soulmate a few times. The ending seemed a little rushed.
