The first half of this book was a slog. As a British expat living abroad, the Brexit machinations have been somewhat remote to me, and this extrapolation of it is presented in a very dry manner for the initial chapters. The fun part comes toward the end as the character of the book changes from a Brexiteer essay to a spy/revolution thriller, with secret agents, hideouts in the countryside and a fun denouement which wraps various strings of the storyline together.
