I generally love this author's writing but I couldn't really get into this book. I just didn't love either character all that much and wasn't really connecting to either of their motivation.

I’m a huge lover of the fake relationship trope, so reading “Love Is” was really fun.
The characters were likable and had great chemistry together.
If you’re in the mood for a quick and cute read, you should check this book out!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is my first book by this author and definitely will not be my last.
Avery is headed home for her dad's birthday but she is dreading it because her ex-fiances parents live next door and she knows he will be there. What better way than to prove to your family and his that you have moved on than to bring a fake boyfriend home with you. Now to find the prefect guy.
Jackson owes his brother a few favors and needs some time away from work. Avery is a perfect distraction.
Omg Avery was hilarious. I loved this book and can't wait to go read more.

S.E. Harmon is super talented when it came to Love Is.. Her writing is smooth and silky.

The passion in this book just rolls of the pages, I loved it so much more then I thought I would! Avery and Jackson have a story that must be read!

5 plus stars- This story was filled with passion, romance, fun and laughs. The interaction between Julian and Avery was fantastic then add one white lie, one birthday party, and one sexy best friends brother and what you have is a book that readers need to read. Do not let this book get away from you. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book and write about it for others to enjoy.

The blurb on this one immediately grabbed me and knowing I haven't read this author before and love finding new ones to read, decided to give this one a chance.

This one started off okay for me, being told in Avery's POV but as the story progressed her POV wasn't enough for me, I wasn't feeling the chemistry or connection between her and Jackson,. Not sure getting his POV would have changed that but I really struggled trying to stay engaged in their story

I found this one to be a bit insta love, there wasn't a ton of interaction, that we saw anyway, and for them to have such strong feelings so quickly, I just wasn't feeling it. I also found their history to be a bit contradicting, Jackson is her best friend's brother who at first seems to not really know him but then later on, their history seems to be all very different as to what was portrayed in the beginning of the story.

I really wanted to love this one, and is the reason I didn't DNF it, but I really struggled with the writing as well. There was way too much inner dialogue for Avery, dialogue that added absolutely nothing to the story. Then when we were in a scene with Avery and Jackson and they would be on a date, half of the date or scene wouldn't be there, it would just jump to the next scene leaving me feeling like we just lost a great part of the story where we would see more interaction and I might actually feel the connection happening between them

I really wanted to love this one but sadly, this one was a struggle to get through.

I really enjoyed this book, this is a new author for me and I did enjoy her writing so I am pretty sure that I will read more from her. So we meet Avery who was dumped by her fiance who was also her best friend, he is now engaged to his TA so Avery is pretty sure that he cheated on her. She is summoned to come home for her fathers birthday and she hasn't been home for a while, her mother had died and she couldn't understand how her father could just move on. So her sister badgers her and wants to set up blind dates so she makes up a boyfriend. To not be ridiculed and to show that she has indeed moved on her best Julian convinces her to take his brother Jackson, whom she has a had crush on for years but didn't even want to admit it to herself. That my friends is when the fun begins..I loved Jackson, did not care for Adam and enjoyed Avery's family. I hope we get more either on Julian or Avery's brother..Enjoy!

This was my first experience reading this author's work and I'm already looking forward to reading more. This is so much more than just a "fake boyfriend" or best friend's brother romance -- I loved the journey that Avery goes through in realizing what Love is. Her character is snarky and funny, sexy and confused and everything in between and Jackson complements her perfectly. The family dynamic was hysterical with some real heartbreaking and heartwarming moments thrown in. This is not your run of the mill contemporary romance. If you're looking for something a little different that will hold your interest, make you laugh and make you think, then definitely give "Love Is" a shot. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

The cover and title caught my attention. The blurb made me beyond excited. The actaul book itself, left me rather disappointed. I must say, this is a very well written book, and I think many may love this book. However, this one was not my absolute favorite. I just wasn't a fan of our heroine, Avery.

However, I do think that you should give this book a try.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for my review. I have never read anything by S.E.Harmon, but I can't wait to get my hands on more books by this author! This book is laugh-out-loud-funny! The characters-especially AJ-Avery Jane, speak my love language of sarcasm. The plot? Not original, but I didn't care a bit, because of how it was told. This story is one of the funniest I have read in a long time, as well as romantic and steamy-all the reasons we read-am I right? Check this one out-you will want all of your friends to read it when you are done!

First book I have read by this aothor and I loved it. Avery needs a fake date to take to a family celebration, and ther best friend Julian is tasked with fixing this up for her. So she ends up on a fake date with his brother, Jackson. But soon the lines between fiction and eailty are blurred as they start to fall for each other.

S.E. Harmon is one of my people. We've never met. I know nothing about them/her/him/it. Like nothing, except that our sense of humor were created for each other so clearly...S.E. Harmon is my person. 😉 All of my snark loving, inappropriate comments prepared me for this read. I am in my happy place.

Love Is...
Bitter lemonade
Swill peddling social media platforms
Murderers and serial killers
Truckloads of snark
Beer privileges to an enchanted brew
And selfish marshmallow hogs

It's also sweet, sexy, and full of love. It's about second chances and experiencing life. It's about growing as a person and facing fears. Whether you want to or not...It's also about having theme songs for the shower. Lol. I had an absolute blast reading this book and I look forward to learning more about the author while I begin my stalking campaign on everyone's favorite swill peddling social media platform...

3.5 Stars!

The pretty pink cover and the intriguing book blurb drew me into "Love Is" by new to me author S.E. Harmon. I am a huge fan of the fake romance trope, and this title executes it well. The characters are well-developed and genuine, and I could not get enough of Avery Jane, a tech guru and successful business owner, her best friend and business partner Julian, and his brother Jackson Sparks. Jackson is a hot, well-known divorce attorney and a womanizer. He agrees to be Avery's fake boyfriend when she returns home for a visit.

I enjoyed this book, however I found the pace to be a bit on the slow side and the book length a tad too long. Avery and Jackson are a steamy couple, and I liked how the author evolved their relationship into so much more than friendship. Julian is a hoot and the way he cares about the people in his life is quite meaningful. Avery's sister and brother are both humorous and entertaining. Overall, a solid read.

Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I confess I wasn't a big fan of this book. It read a lot like a Ya rather than mature adults. Did not feel much chemistry between the characters. I could not get into it.

Wow! Really liked this one!! I was thinking oh man another fake boyfriend book?! But no I was pleasantly surprised how good this was!! I highly recommend it! This is Avery and Jackson book, Avery is partner's in a tech company that started off small but now competes with the big guys! Her partner fixes her up with his brother when she accidentally let's it slide that she's dating someone to get her family off her back! Jackson actually wants to do this! So they go off to her family's home! What ensues after that is very entertaining! This book was really funny I loved Avery character! She is really a funny and quirky! They both have some childhood trama that leaves them not wanted love but the author doesn't harp on it! What you get is a funny, light drama, light hearted , very entertaining read! Definitely don't miss out on this one! Thank you Netgalley and inkspell publishing for sharing this book with me!

I received a copy of Love Is by S.E. Harmon from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Even with a predictable plot, this was a very entertaining read and the pages flew by until the end. I liked the main characters, Avery and Jackson, even with their flaws (made them more interesting, to be honest). Their banter and chemistry seemed realistic (not contrived) and really made me root for them.

It was a fun book to curl up by the fire on a cold winter day. I would read a future novel by S.E. Harmon without hesitation.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

After finding out her ex-fiance is newly engaged, Avery Jane's family suddenly becomes obsessed with fixing her up with a new man. Desperate to avoid awkward set-ups, she rallies her best friend and colleague, Julian, to find her a fake date to her dad's birthday party. Enter Jackson Sparks, Julian's attractive and successful older brother. Jackson is more than happy to accompany AJ to her family's home, and the two have no problem pretending they're a couple, but what happens when their feelings become a bit too real?

This is my third book by SE Harmon, and I'm so happy to find her books getting better and better! Once again, she has created a relatable and lovable main character, in addition to a ~swoony~ love interest. Every scene with AJ's family was just golden, and it was incredibly sweet watching all three siblings come to terms with their mother's death, as well as their father moving on with his new girlfriend. I loved the chemistry between AJ and Jackson, and was rooting for their happily ever after the entire book.

Overall, Love Is was a laugh-out-loud funny novel featuring two flawed and loveable main characters, as well as a hysterical supporting cast. I would easily recommend this novel to current fans of Harmon's work, as well as anyone looking for a fun romantic comedy. I truly look forward to reading future novels by the author.

4.5/5
