I have read Johnathan Kellerman for over 30 years so I can't even tell you how thrilled I was to receive an ARC!! A huge THANK YOU to NetGalley, Random House Publishing - Ballentine and Jonathan Kellerman for this opportunity to read and review! I loved this one! Fun premise and overall a fast-paced, good story Over the years, Mr. Kellerman has had his share of hits and misses (mostly hits), but this is a definite hit! Alex, Milo and Robin are like old friends.

What happens when you mix together an ingredients list of "saints and sinners" and an extravagant dress code, a beach and strangers? A murder of course. I'll admit this is the first of Jonathan Kellermans writing that I have read and I was pleasantly surprised!

I really enjoyed this Alex Delaware series book. A great story. This mystery was well paced and not obvious or predictable, which can sometimes happen in a long-running series. Two thumbs up for great writing

The whole gang is here in Kellerman’s newest psychological police procedural THE WEDDING GUEST.

The guest, BTW, is a twenty-something who turns up dead in a bathroom at a notorious nightclub cum strip joint cum wedding venue. None of the other wedding guests nor the bride and groom claim to know who she is, so it’s Det. Milo Sturgis and Dr. Delaware’s responsibility to give her a name and bring her killer to justice.

As with all Kellerman’s Delaware books, this one is filled with twists, characters who all would benefit strongly from some form of therapy (Not from Alex, tho!) and a plot that makes you pay attention while you read.

And as with all Kellerman’s books, this one is a goodie. From page one until the killer is revealed, and then even further on to the denouement, this story is woven so beautifully together and unfolds at just the right pace, that I may have to read it again to see if I missed any nuances.

I was given an ARC courtesy of Netgally and Random House for an honest opinion of this work and that opinion is that this is a good read!

Not my favorite Kellerman. I didn't love it or hate it, but the latest in this serious I've followed for years was not as satisfying.

Alex and Milo are back and better than ever! Big guy has a disturbing case and this one truly needs all our favorite characters to solve. Full of twists, I had to wait for the author reveal to figure this one out. I am never disappointed by this author or series. Even if you have never read any of the previous books, you can pick this one up and enjoy. Although, I highly recommend them all as they are great stories.

Thanks to NetGalley for a Kindle ARC of The Wedding Guest.

I've been a fan of Alex Delaware for nearly twenty years now, so I was excited to receive an early copy.

In the 34 installment (yes, the 34th book), Alex is called in to assist Milo in the strange case of a wedding crasher found dead at a reception.

The ever reliable, loyal and steadfast Milo pounds the pavement and with Alex at his side, the Hardy Boys interview truculent wedding guests, disgruntled relatives and discover a weird link to a serial killer in Poland.

I alway enjoy reading about Alex and Milo's adventures; they are a solid, dependable team and their banter and humor remain the same.

Robin and Blanche are doing well, and constant driving is part of Alex's skillset as he and Milo travel to meet and track down witnesses and potential suspects.

The mystery itself, the intrigue and suspense is lacking.

The victim's name is false and Milo spends a good deal of time verifying her identity. She is no one special except for the mother who mourns her and as a reader, I could not connect with her. Or anyone else.

After a lot of footwork and phone calls, Alex and Milo finally track down their murderer; another nobody whose link to the victims is weak and insubstantial.

I might be reading too many books about serial killers or mysteries in which the bad guy usually has a tie to the victim(s) but I found the villain's motives and behaviors flimsy and his ties to the wedding victim and other individuals weak, at best.

Oh, well, until next time, Alex and Milo.

It’s your wedding day and everyone is dressed to impress! The sky’s the limit. Even going so far as renting a swanky old burlesque bar for the high-end reception. Dress code for the evening? Dress hot!

It’s all booze and big laughs until a girl is found dead in a hidden-away staff bathroom. One thing’s for certain…she certainly had the dress requirements. Hot little red dress complimented by spiked six inch heels.
But who is she? No one claims to know her. Not the brides’ side nor the grooms. Who was this wedding crasher? And more bothersome…how did she end up dead?

Well here I go again down memory lane revisiting what could be my longest running series! This book is #34 in the series! Can you believe it? But not to worry or turn your back on it. You can easily pick this one up and read it on its own.

The main characters remain as steady as ever.
Alex Delaware is a child psychologist who also moonlights as a consultant to the Los Angeles police department. His long-time girlfriend Robin and their French bulldog Blanche also make their appearances.

And of course, we can’t forget about Detective Milo Sturgis. Yup…still making waves wherever he goes. But I’m getting the feeling he’s growing on those around him...maybe?

If you are a fan of the series don’t miss out!

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing - Ballentine and Jonathan Kellerman for an ARC to read and review.

Every February I look forward to the release of the next Alex Delaware mystery even more than Valentines Day!. So being able to read the ARC over the holidays was the best gift ever! And Kellerman did not let me down. Milo and Alex have another twisted, compelling murder to solve. As always, there are just enough turns to keep you riveted but not so many as to distract from the unfolding of a fascinating series of crimes. Kellerman weaves a tight plot and drops in a little backstory on both Milo and Alex so if you haven’t read any of the series you can pick right up and not feel lost. This book kept me guessing all the way to end. I have been reading this series since the first book came out....over 30 years ago I think and each one just gets better. It’s hard for characters who have been around for that long to stay interesting and fresh but Kellerman manages to do it every time. The only negative here is now having to wait until February 2020 to read the next one! Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy for review!

I'm a huge fan of Jonathan Kellerman's Alex Delaware series. Some series tend to get stale and formulaic over time but this one has stayed fresh, current and relevant . I loved the interplay between the characters and the intricate plot line. Highly recommended for any fans of detective fiction.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group, Ballantine, for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

Alex Delaware and Milo Sturgis are at it again, this time solving the murder of a lovely young woman at a wedding reception. The problem? She wasn't invited, and none of the guests knew who she was.

This book had plenty of friendly banter between our long running characters. Characterization is one of Kellerman's strongest writing points, but I felt like the villian was totally disconnected. I never felt the psychological pull, the urgency, the fear for the next target. The detectives seemed almost lackadaisical when the action finally happened, and the bad guy flopped out of the blue.

There are plenty of misdirections and wrong turns, although the detectives never had to get too frustrated.

Will you read it if you are a long time Kellerman fan like myself? Absolutely. Objectively, was it one of his best? No, but I would still recommend it to fans of his style. I enjoyed it as a quicker, easy read, but it is not the most gripping of his thrillers.

Thank you again, so much, to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the chance to review The Wedding Guest!

This book is #34 in Mr. Kellerman’s Alex Delaware series and I have been a fan of this series for many years.
I love the relationship that exists between the 2 main characters, Alex and Miles, and I love how all of the murder mysteries that they are involved in are very complex, original and well thought out.
This book had so many twists and turns that kept me very interested and entertained, that I couldn’t wait to find some free time everyday to be able to continue reading it.
I can’t wait for book #35.

thanks netgalley for the uncorrected proof in exchange for a honest review.
I have always enjoyed Alex and Milo as work partners. The beginning of this story kept my interest. But by the end I don't know if I wasn't paying attention but the connection between the killer and the murder victim was confusing to me.

Milo Sturgis and Dr. Alex Delaware are once again enmeshed in a murder mystery with many clues that can lead anywhere and nowhere at the same time.
A young lady is found dead of quite suspicious causes at a wedding. No one knows who she is or why she is there. Is there a tie to the groom? The bride? She obviously knows the local as she is found in the place the bridesmaids got ready.
This Alex Delaware book by Jonathan Kellerman is another in a series of engaging mysteries featuring the duo of the LAPD detective Sturgis and clinical child physiologist Dr. Delaware. At times they are about as yin and yang as it gets, all for the better. With each new book in the series, the characters become more engaging and enjoyable. I hope to see more soon.

When an uninvited guest turns up dead at a wedding reception in a club called Saints and Sinners in a seedy part of L.A.,, detective Milo Sturgis calls on his best friend and series hero Alex Delaware in Kellermans latest outing. The mystery of who the beautiful woman in the designer stress is - or was, before she was dispatched by her killer, takes up most of the narrative, before Alex ponders the motive and Milo the opportunity. It all wraps up in a tidy solution; nothing new or extraordinary about this, but a good airplane read .

I absolutely LOVE Alex Delaware and Milo Sturgis! I hope Jonathan Kellerman never quits writing books about them and that he continues to allow them to grow and change.

That said, The Wedding Guest was full of the usual twists and turns I've come to expect from this series. So many characters ~ some I really enjoyed, others I disliked but then came to like them and some were amusing. Pretty typical mix of the usual reactions I have to these books.

This story takes off immediately and is in a very odd setting and the crime happens at a wedding reception. And what a crime it is. Wow.

Quite honestly I suspected almost everyone and when the story wound up I was already wanting to go back and reread it.

Definitely check this book out! You'll be glad you did. Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and author for approving my request for an ARC. My thoughts are my own.

This is the type of story I know and love from Jonathan Kellerman. Alex Delaware is the perfect lead character and I love the way he thinks.

This story is a solid 4-4.25 stars as it’s something that could, or possibly has, happen in real life. It’s a much more stable story then his last and more Milo Sturgis, which was wonderful.

With an unexpected guest showing up murdered at a wedding, things sure took off on the excitement train. This story has you contemplating and guessing at every turn. Be warned! You will be wrong!!

Sit back, relax, and get ready for some nutty gritty detective work!

Lt. Milo Sturgis calls on his psychologist friend Dr. Alex Delaware to consult on his latest case. At a wedding reception, one of the bridesmaids discovers the dead body of an uninvited wedding guest in an upstairs restroom. It's up to Sturgis and Delaware to find out the identity of the young woman and who would have killed her at what was supposed to be a joyous occasion.

I think I've read all of the books in this long-running series. However, this book would be just as enjoyable for anyone who is new to the series. Kellerman somehow keeps each new book in this series fresh and as soon as I finish one of his new books, I am already looking forward to the next one. "The Wedding Guest" is no exception. I got caught up in the story from the very beginning and I remained interested to see how everything would tie together. The motive was a little confusing until the end, but I like how things unfolded building to an action-packed, dramatic ending to a puzzling case.

Milo and Alex are a dream team in solving murders. I like their friendship and how well they work together when investigating a case. I also liked how two of the side characters grew as the story progressed and I ended up liking a couple of characters that I was prepared to dislike. I enjoyed the book from the beginning to end and would rate it 4.5 stars.

I received this book from NetGalley through the courtesy of Random House-Ballantine Books. The book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

I've read all 34 of the Alex Delaware books. I love Alex, Milo, Robin, and the cadence of the stories. Always a solid series read.

I have always read Kellerman books so when Netgalley asked me to review his newest book for an honest opinion, I was looking forward to it. I love the stories with Alex and Milo and their cases of solving crimes, but this book had way too many adjectives.

Describing a room they were investigating took way too long and lost my interest from time to time. But, the story in itself was intriguing. Why wouldnt it be? A wedding of all places, and a guest goes into the upstairs bathroom (downstairs had too long a line) and finds a young girl sitting on the toilet apparently dead. Strangled. And so the case starts.

The questioning starts, no one seems to know her and the more you get into the book the more you realize there is more to the story than meets the eye. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it when it comes out February 5, 2019.
