Initially, Star-Crossed” held a lot of promise. If only it had delivered. Unfortunately, I found the writing style to be sluggish and clunky and also felt that the storyline was a bit far-fetched. So much of my time was spent frustrated by the characters actions that I had a hard time connecting and while I so desperately wanted to love this rom com, it just didn’t happen.

The idea of this book was so cute, but it was so weighed down by all of the astrology. It felt very technical and was just not for me. It went from engaging to skim worthy way too often.

I wanted to love this book but I got about half way through and couldn't finish it. I couldn't connect with the characters and the overall plot wasn't connecting for me. It wasn't an enjoyable read and for me that's the main purpose of reading a book is for enjoyable entertainment. **DNF

I received an advance digital copy of this book from the author, publisher and Netgalley.com. Thanks to all for the opportunity to read and review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Ms. Darke has created a book that will delight romance fans and astrology buffs alike. Is our fate really impacted by our stars and signs?? Entertaining and light, a great read to escape through.

4 out of 5 stars. A good read.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this books. I was excited when I read the description but the characters and overall story fell a little flat.

A very interesting love story. I like the interweaving of the astrology as the story plays out, as if the zodiac determines events before people do.

This really wasn't my favorite book, but I think it was mostly because I'm not into astrology. That's not the fault of the author; It's just my own personal preferences. I thought the book was well-written and the characters were developed and interesting.

I had started this book but it seemed a little confusing to me with the way it was written. I love astrology but for me it was a little too much so I had to stop reading. Hoping to try it again one day. I think I just wasn't in the proper mindset. Thank you for the chance to read and review.

Oh, how I wanted to love Star-Crossed! I thought the synopsis sounded great and love the cover. Sadly, I did not enjoy it enough to finish. It really dragged on in the beginning and I did not feel like there was enough romance in the storyline. DNF at 48%

Star-Crossed is a fun, and light-hearted "summer read". It isn't realistic, but it is lovely!

Justine and Nick are reunited as adults years after there childhood romance fizzled. Nick is slightly obsessed with horoscopes and astrology. Justine, less so. However, Nick follows the horoscopes from the publication that Justine works for. What ensues is some hilarity as Justine tries to play with fate to get Nick to really fall for her.

What I enjoyed about this book was the way in which we as humans sometimes struggle with choices. Do we accept this job offer? Do I talk to this person? Do I take a vacation? Previously I never considered that the enjoyment of astrology and horoscopes is linked to that aspect of our human nature; indecision and the fear of making a choice.

This was a fun rom-com book. I really enjoyed how all of the characters wound up being connected in the end. While the astrology aspect was unique, it also led to frustration at times. All in all, this was an enjoyable read!

This is an adorably smart rom-com which infuses the fascinating topic of astrology. I found myself rooting for Justine and Nick. The prose was also lovely and very Shakespearean in theme.

I loved the side characters who all had their side stories and ended up connected in the end. It reminded me of Love, Actually.

Where things fell apart for me was the massively heavy reliance on astrology. It seemed a bit unrealistic and frustrating at times.

In any case, it was a fun read overall!

STAR-CROSSED by Minnie Darke is a YA Comedic Romance with an Astrological bent that will appeal to teen and young adult females. With the Australian slang used, there’s an attractive international thing going.

***Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

A fun romantic comedy that relies a little too heavily on astrological signs (obviously, because that's what the main plot is about), but luckily the characters are lovely and I enjoyed this immensely!

Really liked this book. I was captivated from the first paged and was able to finish it in two days. I love how strong and independent all the characters were while still depending on eachother.

A cute, if somewhat unrealistic book about astrology and love, Star-Crossed is the perfect light contemporary to read as summer is winding down.

This book is a classic case of how our choices, especially when they affect a distributed publication, can lead to many unexpected consequences. I really enjoyed reading how the author connected all of the subplots in the end. It was interesting to see how everyone was affected and in the end how they were all linked, in such a way that seemed to return things to how they were meant to be.

Justine honestly got on my nerves for the first half of the book. She knows exactly where Nick works and instead of just going to talk to him, she changes multiple horoscopes. Which incidentally push him back in to the arms of his ex and messes with the lives of many others. I just could not get over the fact that I just wanted her to step up and just tell him how she felt. Yet in comparison to this, I loved Nick. He came across as such a pure person, which had me really rooting for him to be happy regardless of who that meant being with.

I recommend this book to anyone that likes a good push and pull romance and has a soft spot for astronomy.

As much as I loved the concept of this book, the execution fell flat for me. I wish there had been more conflict/tension between the main characters to spice up the plot a bit more.
