This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you

3.5 to 4 stars

I don't know why it took me so long to read this, but once I started I couldn't stop. Caitlin Crews is one of my favourite romance authors--I just love how she writes sexual intimacy and emotions. Lucinda and Jason literally knew each other for one night (just like Thor and Margot in Unleashed, Book 1 of the series) but the connection between them is so strong.

Love this!

Lucinda flies out to Jason's deserted island to try to convince him to develop its abandoned hotel, only to find that she gets much more than she bargained for. A quick, entertaining, sexy read.

As always, I appreciate the opportunity to read and review this title.

However, I was not able to finish this as I was not able to connect with the story and the way the characters were written.

I have chosen to mark this title as a "DNF" and I apologize for the delay in sending this response to this title.

Thank you!

Self-made businesswoman Lucinda Graves is determined to add a tropical hotel to her company’s empire. Devastatingly handsome owner Jason Kaoki is willing to negotiate—but only if Lucinda rises to the challenges he sets! Lucinda passes every test, but as each dare grows hotter and wilder than the last, will she be able to keep her eyes on the prize?
This was a pretty decent read. It was hawt and quick and promises to keep every woman’s love of Jason Momoa alive! I really liked Jason but was a little iffy on Lucinda. I look forward to reading more from this author.

UNTAMED - Caitlin Crews

#3 in the Hotel Temptation romance series

HOT! - 4 stars

Plot - 4 stars - Jason is the elusive owner of a remote Pacific island who is being courted for the land for a luxury hotel. Lucinda is determined to be the one to succeed, so she heads out there to have a surprise meeting in person. But who's the one who's actually surprised in this scenario?

Writing - 4 stars - Crews caught me up in the scenario right away, capturing my attention with the characters, the setting, and the sexual tension right away. She set the stage so descriptively that I was immediately drawn into the lush setting along with Lucinda. And Crews certainly can write a hot sexual scene with plenty of tension leading up to it.

Characters - 4.5 stars - This was the best part of the story for me. Lucinda was a poor kid from a rough Glasgow neighborhood who has clawed her way to a successful career in the luxury hotel industry. Although she shows a smooth veneer on the outside, inside we realize that she's determined and passionate. Jason, an admitted wild rich child, has a huge chip on his shoulder about his absent father. But he sees beneath Lucinda's cool exterior and realizes who she really is and that she matches his passion.

Title - 4 stars - The title works because it refers to the undeveloped Pacific island, as well as to the main characters who have untamed impulses.

Cover - 4 stars - Nothing wrong with a sexy male body on display. Although typical for this genre, it works better with this book because Jason is living on a tropical island and would naturally be dressed this way.

Overall - 4 stars - This book really worked for me. I loved the exotic setting of a deserted island, with the rich scenery of blue ocean, blue skies, and bright sun. And Lucinda's discomfort with this lush location put her at an initial disadvantage. But soon we see that she's able to meet Jason's challenges and mold herself into whatever situation she finds herself in. However, she also understands that she's not as in control as she had planned. Jason, thinking he holds home court advantage, soon finds that he is also careening out of control. I loved the challenge each of them offered the other, actually an even match in their personalities. This is a new-to-me author, and I very much enjoyed this escape book. I plan to go back to the beginning of this series to enjoy the rest of it.

A tropical island, a developer with a business proposal and the chance to act on desire.

This steamy read has a hero who will discover he's a man worthy of love and acceptance and perhaps, maybe, he isn't anything like the father he feels he's become.

Linda has met her match and the chemistry is off the charts. It's a fast paced story that leaves you absolutely satisfied from beginning to end.

Untamed by Caitlin Crews is the third novel in her Hotel Temptation series, a series I've been following from the outset, and this one is my favorite so far. The fact that the male lead in this novel, Jason Kaoki, might as well be the twin of handsome actor, Jason Momoa, certainly helped, from his Hawaiian heritage, to his looks, his tattoos, to his devil-may-care attitude. I can't argue with Ms. Crews' choice, but in this novel, although I would have preferred that it be a longer read, she added what I'd missed in the earlier ones, each character was given a backstory and some depth, which is why this novel gets a 4-star rating from this reader.

In the previous novels in this series, the sons of the late hotel magnate, real estate tycoon, and do 'em and forget 'em, Daniel St. George, left each of the sons he never even bothered to meet, property and one of his hotels, and in the case of Jason Kaoki, it's a run-down hotel on a small, idyllic island in the South Pacific, so small it doesn't even have a name, and it's hundreds of miles from the nearest island, Fiji. While the hotel may be a wreck, the mansion Jason has built near the top of this once volcanic island is magnificent, and he's lived there all alone (except for hidden staff), until one day, Lucinda Graves lands on his island, and he's not the last bit happy to see her.

Lucinda Graves, now a property developer for a prestigious London firm, hard-scrabbled her way up from the life she was born into in a seedy part of Glasgow, Scotland--a life that included a drunken, in-and-out-of jail father, and his much-abused wife. That wasn't what Lucinda wanted her life to be and she set a goal for herself after viewing a travel magazine featuring a luxury resort. Developing such properties became that goal, and to get to her current position near the top of the food chain in an otherwise male-dominated corporation, she insisted on trying to get Jason to agree to her development plan, although he'd already sent the other 5 males the company packing. Lucinda believes that she can change Jason's mind and get him to sign on the dotted line, and if she has to use to body to make that happen, she will. As heroines go, she's one of the most buttoned-up, tightly-laced and prickly heroines I've come across in years, and although I liked her take-no-prisoners attitude, she did grate on my nerves several times.

Jason takes one look at the feisty redhead, in her official black suited office attire and sees just another corporate shill, although even in her funeral garb which is so unsuited to this South Pacific paradise, he finds her sexy enough to allow her to hang around for a while, merely to mess with her, and mess with her he does. Next thing you know, Lucinda is in a string bikini belonging to one of Jason's previous women, and he's teaching her to surf, after a sexy interlude of applying her sunscreen. And so it begins, the battle between two very strong-willed characters, who have more in common than either of them realize at first. After one night of seriously hot sex (the cornerstone of every novel in the Dare imprint), Lucinda, who hasn't managed to get Jason to sign on the dotted line or agree to any of her property development proposals, leaves both his bed and his island before dawn, returning to London feeling like a failure, even though she did give it her best shot.

As romance readers we know this isn't the end of their story, and we also know there's a happily ever after ending for these two characters in the future, but given their backgrounds and previous life choices, it was hard to imagine how they were ever going to get to their HEA ending, and it was a stretch to accept a total personality shift for both characters, and the speed with which it happened. Again, while I've not been a huge fan of the short novels in the Dare imprint, I did enjoy this one more than many of the others I've read, and while it can be read as a standalone, I suggest reading these novels in the order they were written. As I stated earlier, I wish the Dare imprint would allow for deeper, more fully fleshed-out characters and plot, but if you're looking for a short, hot and sexy read, this one fits the bill quite nicely.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

Untamed by Caitlin Crews in the fourth book in the Hotel Temptations series. This book is hot and may burn you if you aren't paying attention. The atmosphere of this book is so amazing. The sexiness of the book makes it for a quick intense read. Lucinda and Jason are such a memorable read you won't put it down.

I like that the female lead has such confidence in herself to play his game. What he doesn't know is really it's his game by her rules. Because she chooses to take him on and that makes them both are equals. That 's where all the steam starts. This is a fun fast read enjoy can't wait till the next in the series.

Lucinda and Jason are a nuclear explosion waiting to happen. Jason comes across as ice cold, ruthless and intimidating but that is not going to stop Lucinda from buying him out of that tropical hotel. On accepting and fulfilling his challenges her resolve grows stronger. But what neither of them know is that there is as lot more at stake than just dollars in multiple figures.

This is the third book in the Hotel Series. It can definitely be read as a stand alone book. We get to know these characters well since it is told in both Lucinda's and Jason's point of view. They have so much in common and have instant chemistry even if they both want to deny it. This is a fun, sexy story that will leave your heart happy.

This is a quick read with plenty of steam. An unusual twist with a female lead willing to take on anything including using her wiles to get ahead. And a strong statement for life is what you make it, not what you came from...

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the third book in the series – and whilst you don't have to have read the others, I would recommend you do, as they will go a long way to explain Jason's attitude! They are really good reads too, and I am writing my review assuming you do know the backstory.

Jason was left a remote island with an empty, decrepit hotel on it, unlike his three half siblings... but he finds himself hiding out on the island after his mother suggested he was developing some of his father's bad habits. As he abhors that very notion, solitude and abstinence are his life for now. Until his peace is shattered by Lucinda. She may not be the first to the island, but definitely the first to penetrate his walls.

From the very first moment that the very pale, red headed Lucinda lands on the island, she has to wear her "fake it ‘til you make it" look. And her immediate attraction to Jason isn't helping, making her question her professional ethics. Little did she expect to love the place and it would seem, fall for the man. But all that is warm and beautiful is not always as it seems, and these two have some growing up to do, before they are really ready for each other.

This is another hot romance, which also brings more understanding and closure to the half-siblings.

Untamed by Caitlin Crews is the third story in her Hotel Temptation series. It's about a set of half-siblings who share the same father, a man they never knew who bequeathed them each property in his will. This time it's Hawaiian born Jason Kaoki and his private Pacific island that are too much for property developer Lucinda Graves to resist.

Lucinda is determined to be 'the one' – the one who can convince reclusive former football star and owner of this beautiful tropical island she's just arrived on to consider developing a luxury resort with her hotel consortium. She knows he's already rejected the last few suited gentleman who showed up without an invitation but she's hoping she'll be able to convince him that her company is the best bet. She needs this sale to prove herself to her bosses and she won't take no for an answer.

Jason isn't sure what to think of the beautiful pale skinned redhead in her black funereal suit who has broken his island solitude but he knows he'd like to get her into bed, if she's willing. First he'll have to get her to let down those tight curls and dress for island weather though. He's got no plans or desire to develop anything on his hideaway. Two strong willed people, under the sultry sun with a balmy breeze may not be able to resist temptation. But can they strike a better deal than a simple business acquisition?

I've been enjoying this steamy series by Caitlin Crews and Untamed is another easy, enjoyable read! Jason is half Hawaiian on his mother's side and takes after her in looks and attitude but when she'd accused him of following in his playboy father's ways he'd taken to hiding out on his newly inherited island, not wanting to have anything in common with his reprobate father. Developing a friendship of sorts with his two half brothers Thor and Charlie and half sister Angelique has been the one enjoyable result of finding out he's one of Daniel St. George's sons. Their weekly teleconferences have helped him come to terms with their new relationship. When Lucinda lands on his private island he's intrigued, attracted and ready to sweep her into bed if she'll have him, but that's it. Still, in very short order he finds himself thinking of what ifs, and wondering how easily he'll be able to go back to his peace and quiet without a feisty redhead to challenge him and turn him on.

Lucinda had a challenging upbringing, with a physically abusive alcoholic father and an enabling mother who never took her side. She's fought her way to the top of her profession and getting Jason to agree to work with her company would be a crowning achievement. But under his dark gaze, she tumbles headlong into a heated affair that threatens to disrupt all her plans. There is plenty of sexual tension from their first meeting that culminates in some steamy love scenes and panic for Lucinda when she realizes she might be falling in insta-lust/love with Jason. He's the one willing to go the distance and prove to her that what they have is more than a one night stand. While the story takes place in a very short span of time, there's an epilogue to prove they are getting their happy ever after. It's another entertaining and enjoyable chapter in the Hotel Temptation series!

Lucinda had a little less self-respect than I would have liked (the bikini nonsense was the icing on the cake) and Jason was even more of a jerk than often appears in a romance. It was ok, but unmemorable.

UNTAMED is a sexy, steamy romance between two extremely stubborn, determined people. Jason simply wants to be left alone on his tropical island refuge – just goes to prove that money can’t buy everything, like isolation. Lucinda is equally determined to crash his solitude, swoop in and grab the gold coin that the others, all men, have been denied – Jason’s island as the location to an exclusive hotel.

Neither expected the explosive heat between them. And neither will back down from a dare. Now it’s a matter of who will give in and give up first – and both are completely committed to that not being them.

There’s a lot I enjoyed about UNTAMED. It’s definitely sexy and steamy but then I expect that from any book out of Harlequin Dare. The chemistry between Lucinda and Jason was off the charts sexy. I kept waiting though to get deeper into their personalities, to what made them tick the way they did – and that was longer than I expected to wait.

In all, I enjoyed UNTAMED, I have not yet read the earlier books and wasn’t a bit lost. I will at some point go back to the beginning and get myself caught up. If you enjoy a steamy, sexy romance then you’ll want to check this one out.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Untamed is a short story that belongs to the Hotel Temptation series. If it weren't for the epilogue, I would have said that the book had no ties to another, but as it turns out it's book 3 in the series. Untamed delivered everything I am expecting from a short book. The characters fell quickly for each other, there wasn't much room for character development, but our couple had chemistry and I was amused by the way their relationship was working out. Due to the books nature, I didn't have high expectations and I am saying you should do the same. You will enjoy the book more that way. The story had a few stuff that weren't to my liking, but there were few and far between.

Untamed will keep you warm from the first page!
The third book in Caitlin Crews’s Hotel Temptation series, Untamed is set on a private Pacific island and is the story of hard-edged Lucinda, a hotelier, and playboy Hawaiian football star, Jason. Both Lucinda and Jason are determined to win at any cost but end up losing their carefully crafted personas within hours of meeting and their hearts within a day.
I’m not a huge fan of insta love but Crews’s approach here felt a bit more realistic and certainly created some swoony moments. As part of the Dare imprint from Harlequin it’s also got steamy moments galore! I’m very intrigued by the mentions and glimpses of Jason’s half-siblings and can’t wait to read the first two books in the series.

Quick, fun, and sexy! Very intriguing characters with Lucinda Graves being the focused businesswoman wanting to develop the private island currently owned by Jason Kaoki. A beautiful high end resort would have people flocking to the island. Jason inherited the island from an absent father and has intention of developing it. Who is he to argue when Lucinda proclaims she plans to change his mind. He'll listen to her pitch but she has to play by his rules!

Nice relaxing read and one I definitely recommend.
