3 1/2 Star Review.....

Untamed is a quick, hot and sexy read that definitely gets the blood pressure rising and ensures the need for a nice cool drink too! I’m sorry that I have somehow missed the first two books in the series, but this story stood well on its own and certainly kept the readers interest from start to finish. I’ll be looking for more of this series and also checking out Caitlin Crews backlist.

Untamed

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and a change of pace with a hot & sexy romance. I enjoyed it a lot and time flew by much too quickly when I read it. I’ll be checking out more by this writer for sure. The male character in this book was patterned after Jason Momoa and that’s all you picture after the start in that part, very steamy. Lucinda Graves is the London-based businesswoman who has traveled 40 hours to Jason Kaoki’s unnamed island in the Pacific to try to get him to allow them to build a hotel there. Others had already tried and failed, but Lucinda was sure she would not fail, she just couldn’t. My thanks for the advance electronic copy that was provided by NetGalley, author Caitlin Crews, and the publisher for my fair review.

Five separate emissaries had already been sent from competing hotel conglomerates to convince the notably impossible Jason Kaoki to develop the unspoiled private island in the Pacific he’d inherited from his late father, international playboy and real estate tycoon Daniel St. George. Lucinda Graves had no intention of making herself the sixth and just when she thinks she has this in the bag, she finally crosses paths Jason who is distinctly and inarguably more male than any man she’d ever encountered before.

Oddly, disregarding the previous reviews, I liked this a lot more than I was expecting. The relationship between Lucinda and Jason didn't fall into a romantic relationship straight away, it purely started as sexual attraction and gradually built over time, ultimately leading to their happily ever after. Throughout the series, the storyline did not see rushed and it was well paced. The characters were realistic and relatable, and the sex scenes were scorching hot. A fun read with overall good content and characters.

While I generally enjoy the Harlequin DARE series, this book didn't catch my interest. The characters were very one note and the story not particularly fun.

Woowah! This was a very addictive read. I enjoyed the character dynamics and pace of the book. It of course was a steamy read but one that kept you interested in the story as well.

Lucinda and Jason are both loners of a different stripe. She, because she's had to fight her way tot the top in a male dominated business environment despite her very humble beginnings, and he, because he's spent his whole life proving himself and rising above being an unrecognized, illegitimate son of a notorious cad. This story starts off rather explosively once the two meet. The slow burn comes afterwards, but I was genuinely surprised and impressed at the growth of both characters at the end of the story arc. I was prepared not to like either character very much. Based on the first few chapters I thought they would simply be one dimensional vehicles for an 'insert tab A into slot B' based romance novel, but they were more than that, and I ended up enjoying the book.

When I first began reading this book about the male lead, I thought I was reading a description of Jason Momoa (at least that was the image I had in my head).

HOWEVER, Lucinda and Jason of THIS story are quite unlike any characters I've read before. The work-driven Lucinda who will bot accept defeat and the closed up Jason meet on his island that Lucinda's company wants to develop. Jason has refused all previous offers but is amused by Lucinda and puts her through her paces. I don't think either of them realized how much their little back and forth was changing them, so subtly, but the reader gets to watch as their story unfolds and these two loners discover that they need each other.

The best part of this book was the final arc and I won't give anything away but i wasn't expecting it. Lovely Lovely Lovely.

Lucinda Graves is a woman on a mission. And, she will do anything to get what she wants. Lucinda’s mission is to convince Jason Kaoki to agree on opening a resort on the private island he inherited from his estranged father.

Lucinda and Jason’s business meeting is anything but formal. In fact, it eventually leads to the bedroom and becomes a one night affair that changes both of their lives.

This is one steamy book set on a tropical private island in the Pacific Ocean. Both characters are incredibly strong willed and used to getting their way. They clash at first, but when they both give in to each other’s desires, the story really heats up. And, I’m talking very hot scenes, not for the faint of heart. There are also some funny parts like when Jason refers to Lucinda’s suit as funeral clothes and there are serious moments as well when they open up about their pasts. It is a well-rounded book and a great story. I won’t forget these characters for a long time.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Untamed is quite an intense story compared to other Caitlin Crews novels. Most of the story takes place on an island in the space of a couple of days. There were steamy scenes and some back and forth banter however most of the revealing dialogue came towards the end of the book. I was satisfied with the epilogue and how the characters grew to love, and that it didn't happen after the first meeting.

"Untamed," tells the story of Lucinda Graves, who wants to develop an exclusive resort at a small island that belongs to Jason Kaoki. She flies out to convince the ornery owner but what happens next is not something Lucinda could have dreamed about. You will have to read the book to see how it ends.
I would say that this was an okay book. Nothing bad but nothing very exciting or good too. The story was short so we were not able to get to know the characters as well as I would have liked. Both main characters had an interesting backstory that would have made the story even more interesting if they were explored more. I would recommend this book to people who want to read something quick and steamy in one go.

This is only the second book I’ve read by Caitlin Crews, but I can already tell that I will read whatever she writes. The first book that I read of hers was a book called A True Cowboy Christmas, and it was a little bit of a slow burn. Untamed is anything but. The flames between Lucinda and Jason flare up from the minute they meet.

I couldn’t help but picture Jason Mamoa when I was reading this book. Jason has that kind of wild abandon, do-what-I-want-without-being-a-jerk kind of vibe. He also seems like the kinda guy to hang out on his private island, surfing waves and strumming on a guitar. :)

I wanted more from these two when the book was done. And then I realized that this book is just one in a series. :) So, there’s more where this came from.

The steamy scenes, stood out. The male main character resembled a famous person so closely, I kept thinking there was a fanfic tie-in somewhere. The woman main character was hard to love, even as her motives got explanation and her past was used to further her growth. I just never rooted for her, at all. My first book in the series, but looks like previous stories are briefly referenced here (current book stood alone).

Lucinda has had to work twice as any of the men she works with to get ahead in business. But hard work is not a problem as along as it gets her where she wants to be. Escaping a terrible childhood, Lucinda has come a long way and is on the brink of realizing her dreams. The only problem is Jason, a rich man who inherited the island that Lucinda needs to turn into a world class resort. No one else can get him to agree to develop the island but she's going to give it her best shot. Jason hasn't had any problem saying no to all the other developers but there's something about Lucinda that captivates him. As they learn more about each other they find they have a lot in common. Sweet, sexy, romance.

Untamed by Caitlin Crews is a delightful romance full of sexual tension. It is a very detailed book. The whole novel shows the events of one day except for some memories. Two point of views made it better to understand the characters, especially since there was more monologue than dialogue. Character development was incredible. At first both Jason and Lucinda look like opposites, but as their personalities unravel, they are more alike than I thought. Both trying to fit in the world in a manner so no one thinks any less of them, even going to the length of changing their accents. Fighting for what they want, placing masks and armours so no one sees the real them. Jason and Lucinda are UNTAMED.

The story of Lucinda and Jason. Neither of them are looking for love or anything long term, but at their first meeting something changes for both of them, as they play a game to get what they want from the other.

Loved these characters, the strong successful female trying to prove herself, and Jason the island man. There chemistry was good together the back and forth of challenging each other was fun. Look forward to reading more by Caitlin Crews

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was an electrifying, sensual romance. The author does an incredible job building up the sexual tension between Lucinda and Jason on the island. Lucinda arrives on the island determined to change Jason's mind and convince him to build a hotel with her company. What she doesn't expect is a feral, cunning man determined to live off the island in a desperate attempt to get revenge on his dead father. A man who has no intentions of building anything that would remotely remind him of his selfish father.
I loved Lucinda's drive to succeed. She comes from a poor and broken past and her determination to make something out of herself at any cost is admirable if not a little sad. I understand her will to do things on her terms and not allow anyone to stand in her way. This is what makes this novel so delicious because Jason is just as ruthless and determined. The scene where her forces her to dress down into a bikini and surf even though she's not the type is true to his very alpha, take control personality. And who can't appreciate that in a man? I was clapping with glee when she agrees and practically has him swallowing his tongue. Score one for Lucinda.
But in this game of cat and mouse someone has to burn and Lucinda had the most to lose. So I understood her decision to leave. she's worked to hard and sacrificed too much to just give it all up for a night of hot sex. And I'm glad that Jason saw that in her and made a proposition that met her goals and desires.
My only discontent with this novel and is typical whenever an alpha male is involved is that I felt that she had to play by his rules to get what she wanted. Even when they had sex it was all about his pleasure and when she asked him for some control he said he doesn't do that. So I'm glad that in the end she left on her terms and he had to do a bit of groveling to get her back.

Lucinda needs to be in control of her life. She needs to be in control of the direction that it's taking. Jason makes her question everything. It's easy to imagine him as an island god.
The setting of this book sounds beautiful and very relaxing. I would not mind visiting the island.

Lucinda has no problem challenging her man, “are we surfing?” she asked, with a lilt in her voice that he knew was yet another challenge. “Or are we just going to stare?” Jason just loves to egg his woman on, “is bait a fancy British word for eff, Scotland?” I liked this book, I loved Jason.
