I always look forward to a Katy Evans book. The blurb had me intrigued and ready to get my hands on Boss. This office romance was perfect. This is a fast paced swoon worthy read.

Kit is being left his father’s company Cupid’s Arrow. Kit is a playboy with a reputation.

Alexandra is a workaholic and doesn’t know how to let loose. She is asked to mentor Kit and help him.

Boss was a sexy office romance that I really enjoyed. I can’t wait for the next book Desire.

Let me start off by saying that I’m a big fan of Katy Evans and I couldn’t wait to read this novel. So it pains me to have to write this review.

I honestly couldn’t stand Alexandra at all. Her character was too self righteous, uptight and judgemental. I get that she’s supposed to be a strong woman but she came across as rude and insulting at times with the way she treated her staff. Plus, I didn’t like the way she judged the other women for drooling over Kit. Pot meet kettle.

I did like Kit but I didn’t feel like I really got to know him as a person. Especially with his backstory I would have liked to read more about him and get a feel for him character wise. I felt like I was told about him and not able to see it for myself.

I also felt that their relationship moved way too fast and I didn’t feel the connection between the characters. One minute they didn’t like each other, the next minute it’s lust, then they are in love. Way to make my head spin.

I have enjoyed several books by Katy Evans and it pains me this one didn’t work out in my favor.

I'm a long time Harlequin reader and a huge fan of Katy Evans' work. BOSS represents my ideal Desire read. It's a sassy, empowered heroine and a sexy, arrogant hero going head to head in a fast-paced and engaging office romance.

Kit is the black sheep son of the Cupid's Arrow founder. His father is retiring, and Kit is the heir apparent to the dating app empire. He's perceived as a lazy playboy, but there's more to his character than what's on the surface.
Alexandra has been the secret weapon of Cupid's Arrow for years. She's smart and innovative, and she doesn't have time to babysit the boss's son. But she soon realizes that Kit is not only the most attractive man she's ever seen, he's nothing like the image he presents.

I loved the flow of their story, the bite of drama, the passion they shared. This book is a credit to the Desire brand and to Katy Evans' versatile talent. 4.5 stars.

This one was an easy office romance read. Kit is everything Alex should avoid but can’t seem to help wanting. Plenty of office banter and chemistry meant things eventually boiled over. A dash of angst to round it out & you've got a recipe for romance. It’s a sweeter read than I am used to from this author but I did enjoy it.

I received an arc of this book.

No matter what Katy Evans decides to write about I am always going to stop what I’m doing and read it, because each and every book she creates is pure magic. Boss tells the story of Chicago native Alexandra Croft: a successful worker at Cupid’s Arrow, a popular dating app. She is very hard working and clearly is heavily invested in her work, an attribute I find very attractive in regards to a leading lady of any book regardless of genre. However Alexandra runs into trouble when the sexy, irritating, trust fund son of the owner of Cupid’s Arrow, Kit steps into leading the company.

The chemistry between Alexandra and Kit snaps and sizzles, but Alexandra is trying to focus on her career and isn’t trying to jump into bed with the new owner of her company. Trying to ignore the attraction between them Alexandra cannot deny her growing infatuation and feelings for Kit even when he irritates her most. Boss is a perfect office romance story and is one of Katy Evans classic swoon worthy, romance books. Another great addition to Evans growing list of romance novels!

I am a long time fan of anything Katy Evans and I was excited to see this story pop up. Hot and British, what more could you ask for?!
This story follows Alex who is used to being the go to head person for her Boss, but when her boss wants to teach his some "how to work for a living" she is soon faced with a new boss, who has something to prove and also, is hot. Kit and Alex soon butt heads as Alex is used to doing things her way, and good and Kit wants things done his way, just because...he's the Boss.
Sometimes I felt the story was a little hard to follow, as for me, it seemed to jump around, but it didn't take from the story line and I loved how Kit came to respect Alex and take that grudge off his shoulder and how Alex gave into her attraction for Kit and kinda 'let go.'
This was different from me than normal Katy...I would almost say it seemed like a different writing style but certain lines would be totally Katy. I say that but, the story was still enjoyable and not to far off the mark of being a hit for me.
I look forward to more new work from one of my fave authors.

Katy Evans is an author I always jump at the chance to read and Boss did not disappoint and if you love light hearted easy to read romance this book will be right up your street.
Alexandra Colt is a woman very focused on her career but when her boss announces he is about to retire and his son Kit Walker will be taking over, things start to change and Alexandra finds herself crossing lines with her swoon worthy British boss.....
Kit Walker comes across as an arrogant playboy when we first meet him but as he starts to open up to Alexandra we see the man behind the front he has put up and that’s one hot charismatic man.
Boss was an enjoyable read that was read in one sitting, I loved the characters and the story flowed. This book has the perfect mix of love, passion and humour with plenty of friendly witty banter.

4 Stars!
Alexandra Croft is a gorgeous, ambitious 24 yr. old woman who lives in Chicago and works for the city's top dating app company, Cupid's Arrow. As head of her department she's in charge of the design team, and prides herself on her hard work and dedication to her job. She likes to be in control, and usually has free reign as the CEO's prize employee. Then she learns the owner is retiring and leaving. He's stepping down and filling his position with his youngest son Kit Walker. Alexandra is determined not to let this party boy trust fund heir who's never held an actual job before boss her around. She resents the fact he's done nothing to earn this position, and will now be heading a multimilliondollar company. On top of that she's been asked to be his mentor, and work together as a team. His father is counting on her to make sure this transition goes smoothly.

Kit Walker is determined to prove to his father he's his own man. His dad has him on a short leash, and his inheritance hangs in the balance. He has a lot riding on his success at Cupid's Arrow, and he's ready to show everyone just who is in charge now.

Alexandra is prepared to suck it up and work together with her hot new British boss. What she isn't prepared for is their crazy chemistry. He's easily the best looking man she's ever seen, and their insane sexual tension rises every time they argue. He's known as the black sheep of the family with a notorious playboy reputation. She soon learns she may have misjudged him. He's arrogant, but also charming and charismatic. His playful side lures her in, and he makes her feel reckless and out of control with just one look. They try to fight their attraction, but when feelings develop they can't resist mixing business with pleasure. Alex was only supposed to guide Kit and keep an eye on him, but could she have found her perfect match?

Boss is the first book in this fantastic new Harlequin Desire series by Katy Evans. It was a sexy, fun, love in the workplace romance. I can't wait for the next book about Kit's older brother William!

“He speaks in a toe-curling British accent that should be outlawed in the States”. This line had me hooked immediately!! I love a good office romance story and Boss did not disappoint.

When Alexandra’s boss retires and he decides to put his wayward playboy son, Kit in charge; the power struggle begins, so does the sexual tension and the witty banter. Boss is a nice, easy and enjoyable read. I loved every minute of it!

It's no mystery that in the last couple years or so, Katy Evans has become one of my favorite authors. I'm loving everything she brings to the table, however, when I first read the synopsis for Boss, I have to be honest and say, I was a tad bit skeptical. Office romances are a hit or miss with me, either I love them or I highly dislike them. There is no middle ground when it comes to this trope. To say I was scared to dive into this one would be a complete understatement. Well, the verdict is in and I'm so glad I requested this advanced copy of Boss by Katy Evans.

I loved everything about this sexy office romance!

I really enjoyed Kit Walker's swoony and sexy as sin vibes. I'm a sucker for the reformed playboy type heroes and Kit surely didn't disappoint. Although he wasn't as alpha as I would have liked, he definitely had that protective/possessive vibe down. Kit swept me away from the very beginning. He is such a dreamy man, or maybe the dreaminess has to do with his slight british accent!

Where Kit was swoony, Alex was feisty as hell! I loved not only her determination but also her stubbornness.

There are so many dynamics to this novel that I loved, from the humor, to the swoony sexy time scenes, and ending with the short-lived angst filled moments. But I have to say the chemistry between Alexandra and Kit was the main reason why this one was such a big hit for me. The slow burn portion of this novel really let us get to know Kit and Alexandra on different points. I loved watching their endless flirtations and actually seeing each character step out of the box they hid behind. And let's not forget to mention, the fire that ignited when these two entered the same room. It made for a much sweeter romance.

I do have to say, there was a moment in this novel that seriously pissed me off. That's the only reason why I dropped a star. I wish authors would stop making characters assume the worst and have this huge conflict... wouldn't it be so much simpler if the characters actually believed their partners?... I do love the drama though, but I'd like it a little less, especially when I'm vibing on the couple.

Overall, I really enjoyed Boss by Katy Evans. This is definitely an office romance I can proudly put up high on my bookshelf. After catching a glimpse of William (Alastair's oldest son) towards the end of Boss, I'm definitely intrigued to read more and continue on with this series! I can't wait for more.

Katy Evans is one of those author that I will one-click without even knowing what the book is about. Boss wasn't really different, I knew I was going to want to read it simply because Katy always delivers amazing characters and stories that you can't help but get sucked in.

With that being said, the first part of the book did seem a bit slower than I am used to, although Katy sure made up for that with the chemistry and realistic connection between Alexandra and Kit. Alexandra's world changes when her boss retired and brings in his son was his replacement.

Alexandra isn't going to give up that easily on a job that would be hers... But is the job all she will get our will she find love with the last person she expected to feel anything for.

First off, let me just say that I'm a huge fan of Harlequin books. Sometimes I crave a short insta-love story and HQN never lets me down.

With that being said, when I saw Katy Evans was writing a Harlequin book, I was super excited. Ms. Evans is one of my favorite authors and her books are an automatic buy for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed Boss. Although I immediately fell for Kit (except for a bit near the end when I wanted to smack some sense into him and Alastair), I had a hard time warming up to Alexandra. But when everything went down, my heart broke for her because she was the one on the outside looking in. But I definitely enjoyed the way they challenged each other and of course their chemistry was off the charts. Ms. Evans has a knack for writing deep and emotional connections between her characters, and even though this was a short book, I still felt the pull between Kit and Alex.

I know I’m in the minority here but did I miss something? Where was the chemistry & the developed feelings between the main couple? It was too “blah” for me to stay engaged and I found I was struggling to finish just to write this review.

This quick, sexy and romantic read by the uber-talent Katy Evans is an enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance that hits all the right spots. Alexandra’s unexpectedly has a new boss, Kit, who’s never had a real job and is known as an international playboy. She’s worried her career is about to be derailed but also fiercely attracted to him, and the sparks fly every time these two are in the same room. They grapple for control as the sexual tension mounts and snaps, and they come together in a fan-yourself-worthy union.

This one was just okayish for me, It took me awhile to get into it. I found myself putting it down and coming back. I wasn’t a really big fan of Kit, I thought some of his actions were childish. I love me a good office romance, but unfortunately, it was a miss for me.

Going along for the ride with Alex and Kit is the fix anyone needs to get through the day. The competition and chemistry will have you anxious to get to the next page.

I loved their story, and I think you will as well.
