In Boss by Katy Evans, Working at Cupid’s Arrow and overseeing the design team for one of the top dating apps in the market today, Alexandra Croft is usually ready for anything her boss Alastair throws her way. Except when he announces his retirement. Not only is his playboy son Kit Walker, a sexy Brit, Alastair’s successor, but it will be up to Alex to keep Kit on the straight and narrow. Not loving the idea of being a mentor to a wealthy party boy, she’s knocked for six when they finally meet. Talk about quick chemistry! But workaholic Alex can’t let it cloud her judgement and do damage to her career when there’s more at stake than Kit realizes.

Katy Evans pumped up the heat in this steamy office romance where tempers flared and the attraction was instantaneous.

I was pretty excited to see that Katy Evans–one of my favorite contemporary romance authors–was going to start writing for the Harlequin Desire line. Her intense, fast-hitting romances seemed like they would fit perfectly, especially where she doesn’t shy away from the sexy side of things. And I’m happy to say that Boss definitely worked for me. Although it was shorter than I wanted it to be, as I really dug the characters and wanted to spend more time with them, there was still the same attention to detail and intimate storyline that I expect from Evans.

Our hero and heroine, Kit and Alexandra, both surprised me along the way which is honestly the norm for Evans’ characters. Finding that hidden depth is something I look forward to in each book. In this case, it was Kit having a lot more to his personality than just being a wealthy party guy; and Alex had a good reason (two actually) for being the hard-nosed workaholic we got to know. It was fun to watch them start off almost as enemies and then slowly realize that their powerful chemistry wasn’t going anywhere until they fessed up and did something about it. This was where I couldn’t put the book down. Evans knows just how to build up a scene, and the tension between Alex and Kit was so intense that even just him giving her a kiss on her forehead seemed erotic and passionate. *swoon*

Who doesn’t love it when the bad boy redeems himself and wins the girl, right? Katy Evans did exactly that in Boss, where a sizzling connection gave way to an impressive relationship that caused all sorts of problems–personally and professionally.

Katy Evans is my one click author for sure, Boss is an amazing story about Alex and Kit. They are both thrown together at the dating site company, they are attracted, the chemistry is there, but Alex wants to fight for her place, while Kit wants to prove himself as the new CEO. How to make it work when they are both struggling to keep their hands of each other? A great story, page turning with romance, steam, fun and just perfect. A must read.

Boss is a speedy read guaranteed to increase your heart rate. Who needs cardio when you have Katy Evans 😍

Ellie is a workaholic, dedicated to her career and helping her sister through college. Although Ellie lacks a real family connection apart from her sister, her parents were career centred to the detriment of forming a bond with their children. Although Ellie has come to terms with the lack of attachment where her parents are concerned, she doesn’t believe it has affected her ability to build her own relationships. That is until she meets Kit, only then does she feel the intense loneliness she has worked so hard to bury under work.

On the surface, it would easy to dismiss Ellie and Kit as having nothing in common, workaholic versus playboy. The electricity flowing between them is inescapable. Getting to know each other better opens up their similarities; their need to prove themselves in their endeavours and how they fill a void in each other’s lives.

Falling hard and fast is inevitable, unfortunately, finding their happily ever after isn’t as easy, especially with the negativity surrounding having a relationship with your boss.

Boss takes you on a journey full of highs and lows, passion and antagonism where careers are on the line and friendships are put to the test. In true Katy Evans style, Kit and Ellie will capture your heart and mind far beyond the pages of Boss.

I love Katy Evans! She’s one of my auto download author and every series of hers ive binged through. Unfortunately I had a harder time getting through this book. I love office romance and I love opposites attract but I never really felt the connection between Kit and Alex. It felt physical and nothing more. The writing was great as all Katy Evans books are but I just wasn’t feeling this couple. I loved Alex and her strong professional mind set. I loved how she stood up for herself. But I just couldn’t get into her relationship with Alex.

Who is really the boss in this tale of love and loyalty in the workplace.
Main characters are two lonely souls, independent in thought and deed, not needing anyone else. But life has a way of throwing a monkey wrench into our plans. When our livelihood is challenged, we realize how wrong our perspectives were. Making the hard choice and be willing to accept the consequences is scary but necessary if we’re ever to grow.
The author wrote a heartwarming, lovely, romantic story of discovering who you really are.
I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve been in a reading funk for a bit now, nothing was really grabbing me, I wasn’t getting that amazing feeling you get when you find a book you can’t put down, until BOSS!!
Once again Katy Evans has created an amazing story.
I love Kit and Alex, I love the chemistry, the bickering, the lust and the chase.
This story will hook you from the page one, its amusing, romantic, fun, frustrating (in the best way).
The second I was done I wanted to read it all over again.
This is on my top 10 reads for 2019

I loved this one. It was quick and steamy with a great alpha hero. The banter and chemistry were off the charts and I really had fun reading this book. It is definitely insta-love and it is a short read, but the characters and story have not been sacrificed. Katy Evans is definitely a favorite of mine no matter the genre she writes and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Let's start by talking about what I liked. First things first, Kit and Alex used condoms every time they had sex. Every. Single. Time. Yes, yes, yes. Review over, 5 stars we can all go home for the night and no one needs to listen to my safe book-sex rant.

Sadly things can't be that easy. As much as I appreciate proper safety precautions in romance novels, and I know I'm going to be in the minority here I really struggled with this review. I love Katy Evans, and eagerly devour everything she writes. She's been one of my favorite authors since I first read the Real Series. I never miss a chance to tell people she writes the best book boyfriends. Surely I'm not the only one who's still has a bit of a crush on Tahoe from Ladies Man.

I know I'm going to be in the minority here. But, this book fell flat for me. The writing was good and my dislike of the book had nothing to do with Kit, he was an amazing book boyfriend and I liked him a lot. But, I struggled with Alex. She was difficult to relate to and I found her character quite inconsistent throughout the book. She looks down upon her co-workers getting drunk then a few pages later we watch her not only get drunk but make a fool of herself in front of her co-workers.

The steamy bits, although smokin' hot, made me a bit uncomfortable. There was nothing unsafe about them and I can't quite put my finger on what bothered me. But especially in the beginning, they felt strange. Kit and Alex went from chaste kisses to Alex taking her clothes off and touching herself in front of him really quickly. Perhaps I'm a bit old fashioned but I thought that was a show saved for later in the relationship. Why bother getting dressed up and going on a date if you're just going to do the same thing you'd do at home by yourself?

Overall, the book was just alright for me. I didn't love it and while I wouldn't discourage anyone from reading it, I probably won't find myself recommending it either. That is a real shame because it's rare to find books that take safe sex seriously.

As a big of Katy and her writing i was so excited when i heard about her new book. And she did not disappointed with this one too just like all her other books. Boss is a sexy, sweet office romance that left you all giddy and wanting more. Katy is the queen of writing alpha males and Kit Walker is sweet, arrogant alpha male. Its hate to love kinda romance.
Alex has always been the best at her work and her boss Alistair CEO of the company she works trust and called her 'secret weapon'. But when he announces his retirement and told her about his son Kit Walker who is going to take over, she was unhappy. Alex thought Kit is a playboy. But she can't deny the instant attraction she feels towards him. But there's more to Kit Walker then Alex thinks!!! And he plans to show her.All all the banter, attraction and tension between them. Absolutely loved it. Fantastic 5 star read.

Definitely not your typical boss and employee romance. This one is so much more. Exciting, enjoyable, romantic, real. When Alex first meets Kit she really doesn't like him, and when she is told she has to be his mentor she isn't too excited. After all he is a rich playboy who hasn't worked a day in his life. Now he is the acting CEO of his father's multibillion dollar company. There is an attraction but she definitely does not want to acknowledge it. But he does surprise her. Kit steps into this role quickly and efficiently. Their relationship does move forward and the attraction is felt by both of them. Katy Evans does such a great job with their relationship. She does it with such class. They keep the relationship private. In the office they are both professionals. This story is such a joy to read. A romance that is special, private and respectful with only each other.

Loved Kit and Alexandra! Alex sometimes got on my nerves. She could not spot Ben for the scoundrel he was! She is portrayed as an intelligent woman, but lacks real life experience. Kit more than made up for her shortcoming though. Loved the happily ever after

An office romance mixed with a little enemies to lovers. It was a quick read that wasn’t big on emotions. I was able to sit down and devour in one sitting. It was enjoyable but not memorable.

I do look forward to the next book though.

4.5 stars
If you are after a story that is enjoyable as well as easy to read and light hearted then this will be right up your alley. I really thought it was a great story that had a charming British male character in Kit and the female being her sassy self in Alex...but when she had a few drinks in her, needless to say, anything and everything came out of her mouth, it was rather funny, I thought!!! Talk about foot in mouth issues when intoxicated, lol.
As Kit is her new boss, things gets interetsing as they navigate a blossoming connection. You can feel the sizzling chemistry leaping off the pages and trying not to mix business with pleasure well lets just say sometimes something has to happen for an issue to arise.
I really enjoyed the story and cant wait for more in the series!!!

The premise for BOSS is the kind of book that promises a trope I enjoy. An office, heated dislike, slight forbidden element and chemistry. Alex was the boss under the owner of a dating app company but the owner decided to pass the reins on to his errant son, Kit.

Kit was arrogant, normally polished but inexperienced in business. I liked the idea of Alex mentoring him, even if he didn’t. Alex was a strong character initially but she had elements of flakiness. Alex was naturally attracted to Kit and things orbited from there. I struggled at times to really feel their connection emotionally. The sexual chemistry was there and the written scenes were good to read but I still felt a kind of disconnect for some reason. The forbidden element could have been emphasised more and some of the later drama left me unconvinced.

BOSS was a book I read in a day which is testament to holding my interest. It was a satisfying read but I did want more from it.

I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

⭐️ 4.5 "Miss Croft" Stars ⭐️
Katy Evans is always an author I look forward to read. She constantly achieves to create remarkable couples with intense chemistry. Boss isn’t an exception with its irresistible hero and feisty heroine that just are the perfect match. It’s a swoon worthy read for sure!

Alexandra Croft is driven and very focused on her career. When her boss retires and introduces his son Kit Walker as the new boss, there’s tension in the air. This sexy British man is supposed to learn the ropes under her expertise, but she soon makes assumptions about him. One thing is clear: the severe attraction between these two is off the charts.

Kit Walker comes up arrogant and playful at first, making Alex crazy and in denial of her pull to him. Their relationship progresses and he shows that he’s a truly charismatic, thoughtful man. I died over his sweet gestures and his charming personality. Alex is also a really lovely and engaging heroine. I loved every flirty banters and little teasing between them that had me hooked. The sexy moments are also full of passion!

I would have loved the story to be longer, some parts being a little hurried, but it didn’t really lessen my love of the overall story. The butterfly inducing romance is what made this novel so wonderful for me. This office romance is a a short read, but not to be missed!

Katy Evans introduces us to Kit Walker in Boss!! It is her first Harlequin Desire release. You will be romanced and swoon as you read this feel good, romantic story. As Katy states it is a short and modern sexy romance. Boss is fast paced with a combination of insta-love/enemies-to-lovers laced throughout.

Alastair Walker – CEO of Cupid’s Arrow is retiring. He is leaving his son, Kit, to take control of Cupid’s Arrow. Kit is a laid-back playboy with a reputation, a fun “party boy.” He has spent the last few years traveling the world. It doesn’t hurt that Kit is super sexy and has a British accent.

Alexandra Croft (Alex) is the workaholic head of the design team at Cupid’s Arrow. Alastair asks Alex to mentor Kit and report back to him. Alex is very serious about work hence the “workaholic.” She is not one to let loose.

“I want you to guide him.”

"Guide him."

"Guide that hot, sexy, womanizing playboy who’s about to start playing boss?"

Kit is sexy and fun. He loves to play and party. He has a serious side but not one that comes out very often. As the story progresses his serious side begins to grow.

Boss is fast paced, quirky, quick and steamy. There is some drama with a quick resolution. This is mainly due to the short length of the book. Writing for Harlequin Desire is a new venture for Katy and a bit different from her self-published books. I enjoyed Boss and look forward to the next Harlequin Desire “get away” romance from Katy featuring Kit’s brother William “Stone” Walker in Stone!

Boss by Katy Evans tells the story of Kit and Alexa and is a quick insta-love story, which is part of The Harlequin Desire series.

Alex is working at a dating app company called Cupid’s Arrow, as the head of the marketing department. She is helping support her sister and refuses to let anything ruin her opportunities. In comes Kit, her boss’s son who is in line to take-over the company. Alex doesn’t like that she has to babysit Kit, who she believes does not have much of a work ethic. They don’t see eye to eye in business, but underlying the sparks are flying.

This is a very quick read with a HEA. I do prefer Katy Evan’s other books, which are more detailed and not so fast paced, but I did enjoy this story. Coming up net is Kit’s brother, William in the second book in the series.

I am giving this 3.5 stars, as I did believe the story was a little rushed. I do look forward to her next release.

Katy Evan's Boss was a delightful read. It was sexy and snarky and I loved the Employee-Boss dynamic. Kit and Alex were delicious and full of swoons!

When Kit Walker is suddenly Alexandra Croft new boss she could not have expected the fiery chemistry between them. Meant to mentor him before he takes the reins, their explosive chemistry and sizzle could be felt off the pages. This story had heat and sizzle and I look forward to more stories from this author in the future. 4 stars! ~Ratula

Boss is an amazing steamy quick read. I couldn't put this one down. I love the heat that left me fanning myself. The insta-lust between Kit and Alexandra is felt from the very beginning. This is one steamy office romance. You feel the hate and the heat as Kit and Alexandra go head to head in the office. The sparks fly once they decide to become friends. I love the changes in Kit as the story line goes on. Alexandra is feisty and fiery. She is dedicated to her job. Kit comes off as a playboy who doesn't want to grow up. But boy is he filled with surprises. The chemistry throughout Boss between Alexandra and Kit just grows hotter as the book goes on. This is fantastic read. I couldn't put this one down and love what Katy Evans gives us in Boss.

Insta-love story at a fast pace.
The characters moved at lightning speed from not liking each other to falling in love. She worked her butt off to get the job she always wanted as head designer and he inherited the managment position. He never had to work hard for it but to live his life to its fullest .

There was quite a lot of jealousy thrown in the game. She as her former boss's favourite, he as his blood.
The story itself is short, a cute office romance with steamy scenes, many twists and a HEA. While I loved the plot some parts felt too rushed in my opinion. So I gave it 4 stars
