This was a standard cozy mystery but it unfortunately just did not grab me.
It does have all the ingredients that you would expect but it just left me underwhelmed.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of the book.

Plucky Abby McCree inherited not just her Aunt Sybil's house, but the dead body of her aunt's nemesis buried in the garden along with it. When the police chief and many of the local townspeople blame her aunt for the murder, Abby takes it upon herself to clear her aunt's name and find the real culprit. Between an angry developer and missing quilts she has her hands full, but she perseveres until her aunt's name is cleared and justice is served. This is an engrossing read with a well developed plot and interesting characters. I hope to see a lot more of Abby in the future.

A well written, fast paced new mystery which I hope will be the beginning of an entertaining new series. Abby McCree is newly divorced when she inherits a house in Snowberry Creek from her beloved Aunt Sybil. Abby is beginning to settle in, taking her aunt's place on various committees and forming a relationship with her handsome tenant Tripp when, as she hires goats to eat all the bushes, she and Tripp find the body of Dolly Cayhill, whom her aunt had a very public argument with prior to Dolly's disappearance, hidden in the bushes. When suspicion falls upon her aunt, who is no longer alive to defend herself, Abby takes it upon herself to clear her aunt's name from suspicion. This book was filled with interesting, relatable characters, the possibility of new romance, and a wonderful touch of quilting (one of my favorite hobbies). I high recommend it.
