Ellie’s Redemption is an engaging and heartwarming with a solid Christian message woven into the story. This book set in the early 1900’s in Charm, OH is a continuation of the characters I fell in love with in Liza’s Second Chance. Ellie’s return to her Amish roots left others with doubt about her commitment to the Amish faith, even though God, the church and most of the community had forgiven her. Ellie’s sweet and compassionate spirit is to be admired throughout the story, although there were moments of wanting to lash out at the gossip.

Joel and Ellie were attractive to one another from the beginning, but they faced many struggles with their relationship. Each one had secrets of their past, plus Mrs. Wenger had listened to the gossip of others about Ellie and insisted Joel not see her. She was rude to Ellie it seemed at each opportunity. Would an expected turn of events for Joel to redeem his sister from the Englisch world bring Mrs. Wenger back to her compassionate and loving self with family and others?

This story captured by heart from the beginning. The children in the story added so much with their innocence and caring way for others. The courage, strength, and resilient of characters combined with gentleness, forgiveness, love, faith and new beginnings gave way to a magnificent Amish historical story. I look forward to reading the next book in The Amish Charm Bakery series by Molly Jebber. I want to know how the lives of the characters are moving forward. Jebber is one of my favorite authors writing historical Amish stories filled with a message of God’s love and forgiveness for each one.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Kensington through NetGalley for the tour with Celebrate Lit. All thoughts expressed are my sincere opinion of this book.

ELLIE'S REDEMPTION is a sweet historical Amish romance. I missed the 1921 in tiny print in the book until it mentioned President Taft so I went back and wow. That explained a lot I was confused about.
Joel and Ellie liked each other immediately upon meeting and became a couple right away, but that said, they had a lot to work through with jealous girls, his mother's intense dislike of her, and ever so much more. I wondered how they would ever find their way past all the hurdles to find happiness and lasting love.
The two young boys, pets, and secondary characters who befriend the main characters are a nice touch and add hope and humor to the story. I loved Joel's dad and Ellie's parents.
This is the first book I've read by Amish author Molly Jebber but it won't be the last. A sweet read for Amish romance fans.
I was given an advance reader copy of the book. All opinions are my own.

Happy Release Day to one of my favorite authors of Amish fiction, Molly Jebber!! Congratulations on writing another fantastic book!! I have to admit.... I have NEVER been disappointed by a novel by this author. Once again, she has written a book that will hold your interest from beginning to end, appealing to every emotion you possess. I am almost afraid to admit this,... but I think that this is the BEST one yet! But then again, what will the future hold for this talented lady?

"Ellie's Redemption" is the second in the historical Amish fiction series entitled "Amish Charm Bakery". It can be thoroughly enjoyed as a stand alone, however, I highly recommend you read the first book, "Liza's Second Chance", as book two revisits familiar characters. I had the great feeling of reuniting with old friends and wanting to catch up on their lives. There are also new character to get to know and love. All of the characters are so realistically and well described that the reader quickly becomes totally involved in their lives. What a complicated world Ellie encounters when attempting to redeem herself in her old Amish life! The community gossips are at work giving Ellie a difficult time trying to prove herself very different from the "old" Ellie. Reputations are certainly hard to change!! A successful romance seems impossible with these negative thoughts popping up at every moment. I admired Ellie's determination to succeed as well as Joel's kindness and strength in the toughest circumstances.

The main theme of forgiveness of self and others comes through loud and clear throughout the steady paced plot. The reader comes to realise that the Amish community is not without the problems similar to what you and I face. Even in a strong Christian community there will be those that cause us grief. The whole solution is to trust our Lord and follow His plans, not listen to human advice and opinions.

Is the relationship between Ellie and Joel doomed??? Will the gossips win????

Don't miss this great read!! A fabulous book!! Can hardly wait for Molly's next creation!

This is the first book I have read by Molly Jebber, and it was a wonderful one to begin with. Although it is second in the series, I did not feel as if I was missing part of the story. I would like to go back and read Liza's story at some point.
I found Ellie's Redemption to be a sweet romance with a strong thread of forgiveness spread throughout the storyline. It's not easy to face your mistakes and the consequences of your choices, but Ellie refuses to let the gossip and distrust hold her back from moving forward with God.
The character writing was descriptive and believable. I will admit I was sorely disappointed in Joel's reactions sometimes. They were honest human reactions, and they drove the story onward, so I accepted it and continued on the journey.
The plot was well paced, with almost no dead time between interactions and conflicts. I found the conclusion to be sweet and realistic. Ellie's world might not be perfect, no one's is, but she makes the best of it.

After experiencing the English world for a bit, Ellie has returned to her Amish community and enjoys working with her stepmom in the bakery. Joel and his family have just moved to Charm for a new chance. He is not aware of Ellie's past and finds himself falling for her. When her past comes to light will Joel be able to forgive her and continue to love her?

As I felt with the first book in the series, I find it hard to review a book that I just liked and not loved. It is not the author's fault if the book did not speak to me. I have read many reviews where others loved it. My main issue remains the same as I felt the story was rushed. It seemed to jump from one thing to another and ideas were not given a full follow through as I am used to in other Amish novels.

This is Ellie’s story and I’m still not impressed with her behavior. At times she still acted like a brat and I found myself shaking my head in disgust at her.

Will I continue with the series if there are more? I honestly don’t know. I’m leaning towards this series not being my cup of tea.

Please do not use my review as a judge if you want to read the book. Read the book yourself and make your own opinion. What doesn’t speak to me may speak volumes to you.

Loved the first book about Liza and this is a continuation about Ellie, her stepdaughter. But it can be read as a stand-alone, so don’t let that hold you back. Ellie works in Liza’s bakery with Liza’s niece Hannah, who happens to be Ellie’s best friend. Ellie left the Amish life twice during her rumspringa, but now is totally committed to her faith. As hard as she tries, she is still looked down upon by many in the community. Fears are that she’ll win people and hearts and then take off again. At least that’s what Joel’s mother thinks. Joel and Ellie take a “shine” to each other but nothing will sway Mrs. Wenger’s mind about her. She is still grieving over the daughter that left and married an Englisher.
This was a quick, enjoyable read for me and I loved the characters. Even though the time period was 1912, it was hardly noticeable because of the simple way the Amish live. My only problem with the book was that I gained 8 pounds while reading! The mention of all the bakery goods they made and sold made my mouth water. I found myself in my kitchen baking, and unfortunately eating the sweets and breads I made.
I’m looking forward to possible continuations of these characters in subsequent novels.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through Celebrate Lit but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise.

Molly Jebber has written another great book in her new “Amish Charmed Bakery” series. “Ellie’s Redemption” takes us back to the beloved bakery where the first book took place. We follow Ellie as she tries to redeem herself in her Amish community. The community gossips can’t leave well enough alone and it seems that any hope of making a future for herself may indeed fall short because of their tales and her tarnished reputation. Even though Joel is kind and sweet, his secrets and her past may just be too much to overcome.
The reader sees that the Amish face similar situations with gossips and struggling to fit into a mold others have created. Forgiveness shines bright throughout the book along with the Bible advice of trusting in God and letting him lead our path. Jebber does a great job with character development, they come to life for the reader. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I would recommend reading “Liza’s Second Chance” first as there is some back-story that could help the story.
Molly Jebber has left us wanting more in this series by giving away just a little that might appear in future books. She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher in return for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ellie's Redemption is Molly Jebber's second book in the Amish Charm Bakery series and is just as delightful as the first, Liza's Second Chance. This book has many of the same characters, yet Ellie's Redemption can be read as a stand-alone story. Reading the first will definitely fill more of the background in but this second book of the series is captivating on its own. With family members disapproving, community gossips and other gals trying to make trouble, and events from the past Ellie and Joel's romance almost seems doomed from the start. Throughout the story, readers will wonder if their future will be together and what is ahead for Ellie and Joel just as the characters themselves are wondering what God is at work doing. They both have secrets they withhold from each other and because of that their relationship is strained to the point of breaking. Love just might not be enough to ensure a future together. The characters in the book are likable and realistic and I especially liked Joel's father. He is portrayed as a compassionate and non-judgmental person who is slow to speak and gives quiet advice. Ellie's story of redemption is a wonderful blend of family, great friendships, and faith values. It is a story that lovers of Amish stories and sweet romances won't want to miss.

Ellie was very angry after her mother passed away and questioned everything including her faith. She took off to the English world t be an Englisher maybe she would be happy there , she would definitely be more free and would not be so frowned down upon as she was in her Amish community for her angry ways. But now she is back trying to live for God’s will again. She is excited to be back and works at a Amish bakery called Amish Charm. Ellie is determined t do right no matter how much it costs her personally. She starts a friendship with Joel who is a quiet sweet Amish man in her community. Joel wants to get to know Ellie better. But Joel’s mother has listened t the Amish grapevine and has heard bits and pieces about Ellie’s past. She doesn’t want Joel even around Ellie as she feels Ellie os only trouble. Joel’s father is a compassionate man and non judgemental the opposite of his wife. He is also willing to give advice to his son. Joel’s mom causes drama between Joel and Ellie. Ellie knows she must tell Joel about her past but when she does he overreacts and doesn’t treat Ellie very well for awhile.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was a good Amish romance with a lot of faith but also shows just how human the Amish can be with their grapevine and non Godlike ways. But it doesn’t happen very often as a whole the Amish are very spiritual and try to live as God would want them to. I recommend you read the first book in the series for a more knowledgeable and smooth read. I liked DEllie’s parents and Joel’s dad but not his mom she didn’t act very Amish like as far as I am concerned. I didn't like how Joel treated Ellie after she told him about her past. At least she told him. This caught my attention from the start of this book and held it until the end I didn’t want to put this down. I feel this was a well written book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

Amazing read. This story shows how grief can cause problems for Ellie in the past by rumors and by one now in Joel's mom over his sister. Love at first sight has Joel wanting to know Ellie more but her past may bring it to an end before it has began. God has plans for both and they have to rely on faith.

The title of this book perfectly fits this story. Ellie has sincerely turned her heart towards God and has asked for His redemption. She is striving to live for Him each day, but finds this difficult at times as some in the Amish community continue to gossip about her past. This gossip affects her growing relationship with Joel. I was drawn further into this story as Ellie determines to do the right thing, no matter the personal cost to herself. I hoped that the author would allow her to find her happily-ever-after.

This story has much to remind us of about forgiveness, acceptance, and the damage that gossip can do to someone who is trying tonput away past mistakes and live a godly life. This is a good, clean Amish fiction story with compelling characters.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This Amish author has won my heart as a favorite top 10 authors I enjoy supporting.
I enjoy reading her books because they always remind us that forgiveness and trust are essential to our daily lives. Jesus says that we are to forgive as he would 7 times daily ( I think that's how it goes). Bit anyway it's a good reminder.
We are also not to judge others. I thought it was unfair that Joel treated Ellie as he did. I know that what Ellie told him was a lot to take in but at least she had some backbone to fess up. I think I would've done the same because if you denied it it would eventually come out in the end.
I think I like Peter best. I like him because he loves everyone until they give him a reason not to. I'm the same way.
Mrs. Wengard reminds me too much of my mother in law. Too controlling and wrapping her attention all into one child. It's truly sad when a parent does that
In some ways I'm glad I'm an only child.
I admired Ellie for trying to change and behave herself. I consider her a prime example of living the way Amish do despite her bad past. But then don't we all have a past or skeletons that we're ashamed of. It's called love and forgiveness.
Joel also had a past but not the same. I do think he learned a lesson the hard way. I felt like he blew things out of perspective but I'm glad things worked out
I also enjoyed this story because Ohio was used a backdrop as the setting. I'm from Marysville so not too far from where this story takes place.
I can't wait for y'all to read this sweet little read!! It's full of excitement and action!!
I received this book from Netgalley. No compensations were received and all opinions are my own!

Forgiveness is the main theme in this second book of the Amish Charm Bakery series. Ellie has a past that she's not proud about. She meets the man of her dreams, Joel but rumors are flying. Joel's mamm is not happy about Joel seeing Ellie and doesn't mind letting Ellie know. This is an enjoyable book that will make readers want to visit Charm and it's wonderful bakery. The characters for the most part are delightful. Looking forward to the next book. Recommended!

Ellie is working hard to keep the promises she has made to her Amish faith and family as she tries to push away the poor choices she made during a rebellious period. When Ellie meets Joel Wenger her life seems to be falling into place until her past reappears.
This is an easy read and enjoyable story. Nice diversity of characters with their own flaws which brings added interest.

Ellie's Redemption is the second installment from Molly Jebber's Amish Charm Bakery series. This Amish historical takes a reader back in time to 1912 Ohio. Ellie Graber comes back to her Amish community after leaving following the death of her mother. She is excited to with her community again. Especially, when she starts a friendship with Joel. Only his mother is not too fond of Ellie, causing drama between two friends. Will Ellie be able to change Joel's mother's mind? What will Ellie have to do to save her and Joel's relationship?
I enjoyed Ellie's Redemption and thought it was a pretty good read. I instantly felt connected to Ellie from page one. I wanted to root for her and was hoping all would end well for her. I just had to find out what would happen with her and Joel next.
I am giving Ellie's Redemption four and a half stars. I look forward into what will happen next in the third installment of the Amish Charm Bakery series. I highly recommend Ellie's Redemption for those who enjoy a good, well written, sweet and clean Amish story.
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

Set in Charm, Ohio, this is the second book in the Amish Charm Bakery series. It is the first of the series that I read but actually didn't realize that it was book 2 at the time. I don't feel that I was in any way confused by the fact that I hadn't read book 1 and it can clearly stand on it's own.

The story of Ellie and Joel was a story of love at first sight with bumps and bruises along their way. The biggest problem being that of Joe's mother as she hears bits and pieces about Ellie's past through the Amish grapevine. Convinced that Ellie is just trouble, she makes it clear Ellie is persona non Grata.

Will Joel's mother keep the young couple apart or will she ever find it possible to forget and forgive?

This is a sweet romance and an enjoyable read.

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

Ellie and Joel are attracted to each other, but his mother has listened to the gossip and will not give Ellie a chance. A good story and one I enjoyed a lot, although at times the stilted language got tiresome. Almost felt like the old cowboy and indian films when the indians spoke in broken English. Other than that though, I had a hard time putting this one down. Sweet story and one I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is very well written and holds your attention. You will fall in love with the people in this book, especially Peter and Charity. It has a Oatmeal Cookie recipe at the end that sounds wonderful. Thank you Kensington Books Zebra via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. This is my honest opinion. I highly recommend this book.
