Ellie Guthrie has moved to her hometown of Curry, Oklahoma, to set up her law practice. The daughter of an esteemed and high powered judge, she is still considered an outsider, even though she was born in the small town.
Nate Marcel is a newly retired FBI agent who has moved to Curry to take up ranching. He has had Ellie in his sights since she has arrived--only Ellie has been pushing Nate away, afraid of the feeling he invokes in her perfectly ordered life.
Then people start dying, and while they seem to be unrelated and unfortunate deaths, the agent in Nate sees a pattern. He doesn't think they're unrelated or accidental--and he fears Ellie may be next.
This book is the third in the Agency series, although they really aren't connected at all except that Nate was in the FBI. I had trouble getting into this book. There was nothing wrong with it--the characters were likable and the story had a good premise--it just didn't grab me. It was well written, and I was a bit surprised at the ending--the book definitely picked up steam at the last few chapters. An entertaining way to spend the afternoon, but not quite as good as the previous books in the series. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5

Ahh! Alexandra Ivy has done it again, another brilliant story. This was amazing, I couldn't pick who did it and the whys. it was so suspenseful and the romance was perfect. The pace of the story was exactly what I love. I cant not wait for another book in the series. This can defiantly be read as a standalone and I can not wait for this book to be on my book shelf.

Ellie has tried to get out from under her fathers influence. She wants to be a lawyer under her own terms and only take the positions that HE decides she should take.

Curry may be a typical small town in Oklahoma but it is hiding some deep, dark, terrifying secrets. Ellie seems to be the main target but others starts to fall around her. Nate may be former FBI but his instincts are still finely hones. He helped Ellie when she first moved in and now he is determined to make sure she stays safe.

Very twisty story, dark dealings and family links that are torn and trod on. Tragedy comes in many forms and you do wonder just who is behind it all. Great nail-biting read!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Kensington Books for an advance copy of You Will Suffer, a stand alone romantic suspense novel set in the small town of Curry, Oklahoma.

When strange things happen to lawyer Ellie Guthrie she tries to shrug it off but her neighbour, ex FBI agent Nate Marcel insists that she take it seriously. This is the least of her worries when a spate of unexpected deaths hits the town leaving her and Nate to delve into the town’s past in search of answers.

I thoroughly enjoyed You Will Suffer which is a fast paced, exciting read with several twists and turns. I must admit that I didn’t realise it was romantic suspense when I picked it up but, quivering passions aside, it held my attention throughout. It is not a particularly profound novel but it is well plotted and, in sharp contrast to the romantic mush, it has a high body count and a fair amount of violence when the unknown killer gives a first person account of their actions. I think the phrase “contains adult themes” ideally suits the novel.

The characters are fairly stereotypical, feisty successful lawyer and action man hunk so there’s not much to be said about them. It doesn’t actually matter as this is a plot driven novel so they are developed as much as they need to be to move the plot forward.

You Will Suffer is a good read which I have no hesitation in recommending.

3.5 stars. Another interesting read by Ms. Ivy. Having read the first two books in this series, I was pleased to have the opportunity to read this third one. The first book is still my favorite in the series, but I did enjoy this one as well. The characters are well developed, and the plot is intriguing, though a little slow sometimes. This isn't necessarily one of those books that grabbed a hold of me and wouldn't let go, but it was definitely time well spent. I enjoy romantic suspense, and this author is good at writing them.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Ellie Guthrie has returned to Curry, Oklahoma to open a law firm. Her neighbor, former FBI Agent, Nate Marcel has his eye on her. When Ellie’s tires on her car are slashed, rats are left, and someone attempts to burn down her house Nate steps in. Curry is a small town with lots of secrets and people are dying. The Sheriff is incompetent and decides Nate is the perfect suspect.

This book is part of a series but could be read as a stand alone. The book is full of suspense and twists that will keep you guessing. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

A twisted story of unimaginable greed and how far some people will go in their quest for success. When a daughter cannot relate to her parents she decided to move to the town where she was born to establish her law practice. Partially to escape parental expectations and partially to see if she can better understand her parents. As murders pile up in a small town an undeniable connection begins to be revealed. Be sure you have spare time, you won't want to put this book down.

The mystery in this book is intriguing and it has some twists and turns you won't see coming.

The pace itself was a little slow. Not much really happened and when it did, it was brief and in my opinion, downplayed. There was not much of the angst and dread I was expecting.

I did enjoy the relationship between Ellie and Nate. Nate was super sweet and at the same time manly and protective. I loved the way he slowly seduced Ellie to his way of thinking.

Ellie is strong and independent. She does not want anyone to tell her what to do. With Nate, she keeps her strength and independence but, she gives her trust, which is saying a lot for a girl like Ellie.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read but I wanted so much to feel the mounting tension. Instead it left me feeling a little nonplussed.

I received an ARC via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have never read any of this author's books before but the synopsis sounded interesting so I was willing to give this book a shot. The plot is good and it sounded entertaining enough, a small town crime, with a serial killer thrown in to grab your interest. However, it did not give me that feeling of "man I can't put this book down". The pace of the book made this more of a take it or leave it than a must read for me. I think if I would have read the first two books maybe I would have enjoyed this book more than I did. Trying to come in to a series on a third book was not the best idea by far for me. I know quite a few people enjoyed this book, so the Author has to be doing something right. I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Great romantic suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat till the end. Ellie is a defense lawyer in a small town who works hard for her clients. Her childhood was oppressive and getting out from under her parents thumb has helped her greatly. Nate is a retired FBI agent who wanted some peace and quiet so he moved to the small town also. He's attracted to Ellie who won't give him the time of day because she doesn't want a relationship. When locals start getting murdered, Ellie and Nate work together to find out what's going on. Loved it!

This is the third in The Agency series from Alexandra Ivy. However, it can definitely be read as a stand alone. I've enjoyed all three books in the series. They have a real suspense/crime story in them. There is also plenty of romance, but it's not in your face, people jumping on each other the second they meet kind.

This story follow Ellie and Nate. Ellie is a defense lawyer trying to make a name for herself and Nate is former FBI seeking a slower pace after being hurt on the job. I really liked both the characters and we learned a lot about them. Man, does Nate fall hard. Ellie is a slower to come around, but they are actually just really sweet together.

You don't get a sense of the villain until the last couple of chapters. I was surprised when it was revealed. All is revealed in the end, the bad guys get what is coming to them, and the couple has an HEA.

Full review to be published online in late January.

YOU WILL SUFFER is the third book in Alexandra Ivy’s intriguing Romantic Suspense series ‘The Agency’. Ellie is an attorney who returns to her small Oklahoma hometown to open her own law firm. When someone slashes her tires, leaves rats on her patio at work, and sets her house on fire, she knows someone is after her. But the bodies are piling up in this small town, and she is afraid she’ll be next. Nate is a former FBI agent and lives close to Ellie. When she first moved in, he tried to help her fix her place up but she turned him away. Now they are working together to figure out what’s going on in their town. Can they find the killer before Ellie ends up next? This is a nice RS story with suspense, mystery, action, and a little heat. Nice read by an author at the top of her game.

Ellie Guthrie returns to her birthplace Curry, Oklahoma to escape her domineering parents, but immediately sinister happenings occur, petty vandalism, tires being slashed, rats on her doorstep. Ellie realizes that she’s not the only victim, and with the murder of the Ex Sheriff’s son and her own house fire to contend with Ellie teams up with her neighbor Nate to investigate.
Normally I have an inkling of who the killer was, but I was blown away at the end. Fast paced, very well written with likable main characters, I loved this book
Thank you NetGalley, Kensington Books and Alexandria Ivy for the opportunity to review this book.

Wow. If you want a gripping suspense with a great plot, well developed characters and more twists than you can keep up with, then look no further. This book is not to be missed and I applaud Ms Ivy for her skill.

The story centres on Ellie Guthrie opened her own law firm in Curry, Oklahoma. She has rejected the privileged lifestyle she had with her parents and chose to set up in a small town in the prairies. It is here that she meets Nate, her neighbour and former FBI agent who insists on watching out for her.

Together they uncover the town’s hidden secrets and come face to face with a sadistic killer.

I received this ARC for an honest review. Not a book to be missed!

EVERY SMALL TOWN HAS A SECRET AND THIS ONE IS WORTH KILLING FOR

The rolling fields outside Curry, Oklahoma, are a beautiful spot to ramble on an early spring day . . . and a lonely place to die. Among the prairie grass and wildflowers, a killer kneels beside a curled-up figure, plunging a syringe beneath skin to deliver the fatal dose. And as the victim’s last breath mingles with the air, it sends a warning out to the world: This is just the beginning.

There’s a killer in town, toying with her, drawing both Ellie and Nate into a web of murder and vengeance. To find answers, she’ll have to unearth this small community’s dark and twisted past . . . before it’s her turn to die.

You Will Suffer was a beautiful suspense novel, which was something I wasn't expecting! I also didn't realize this was part of a series, but I read it and wasn't lost at all. I will have to check out the other 2 books in this series out of curiosity. Any fan of great murder mysteries will be drawn to this series.

I enjoy Romantic Suspense and this is a solid example of that. According to Alexandra Ivy's website this title is part of the Agency series, but I couldn't see a connection to the other two books. There are similarities: a serial killer with ties to the past, strong, independent female character and intelligent, protective male character. I was surprised when the killer was revealed which doesn't happen often. Over all, a thoroughly enjoyable title.

This is book 3 in the Agency series (all can be read as a stand alone). An enjoyable who dunnit with a little bit of romance mixed in that will keep you guessing until the end. I liked the earlier books in the series more but still found this one worth reading. I look forward to the next in The Agency series.
(3.5 out of 5)

Thank you #netgalley and #kensingtonbooks for the eARC.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I have read most of Alexander Ivy's books and loved them. This one is a very good romantic suspense with lots of twists and turns and I did not figure out who did it. I really liked the characters too
