I've previously read a sci fi story by this author which I found very entertaining so was obviously interested in what she would do with what seemed to be a paranormal story. I don't see a lot of books around that take on Norse mythology and if honest I wasn't exactly overwhelmed by the synopsis but still i was piqued enough to want to discover more and actually I thought it far better than I expected.
Essentially we have an assassin trying hard to change his ways and actually do good following a life changing and terrifying event. Did Liam actually see what he thought or was battle fatigue affecting him ?
Kara has no memory and yet somehow turns up at Liams door knowing his name. Liam has vivid recollections of one very passionate week with Kara and for some odd reason trusts her as they both reconnect and try to discover who Kara really is. Their search for answers brings horrific consequences though as the past starts to catch up but Liam isn't the only one who is deadly !
Ok I really wasn't impressed by the cover and it nearly stopped me downloading this but I'm glad I did . I thought that even though there are tentative links to the Norse world (particularly at the end ) this worked pretty well as a straightforward good versus bad guys story. I'm very used to Greek mythology playing a part in paranormal romance so this series has great potential but alas for this reader it lacked a little something although frankly I can't quite say what was missing for me. An enjoyable read and one that I found easily filled my afternoon.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair.

Liam Wolfson is an ex mercenary living with a new identity. He is trying to atone for the sins of his past. He is happy in the little village out in the middle of nowhere. When someone he met in his previous life suddenly turns up, it puts him on edge.
Kara can't remember who she is, or how she got to his home. Trying to find out who she really is could bring all sorts of trouble down on them.
Our hero had a battlefield vision that made him re-evaluate his life. How can he ever make up for all he has done.
Our heroine has also has battlefield experience, that much is true from the memories that appear. Will that help when the time comes.
A wonderful romantic suspense with lots of secrets and danger. Is it ever to late to redeem your soul? I thoroughly enjoyed ever page in this story. It is part of a series , but each book can be read on it's own. There is much more to this than it first seems.
I loved it.

Kara has some unusual skills, an inexplicable attraction to Liam, and a bad case of amnesia. She remembers having a big dose of pride and judgement, along with a flitting memory of wings and armor, but how is that supposed to help her figure out who she is?

Liam has spent a few years trying to shake his persona of professional assassin and become someone worthy of forgiveness. Having a memorable, if past fling suddenly show up on his doorstep raises his sixth sense that his past has finally caught up to him and it isn’t a good thing.

Taking place over a few months, follows Liam and Kara as they try to discover who she really is and why she’s here with Liam. The glimpses into Kara’s past was a precursor to what her job was, yet Nantus kept me guessing as to what direction Liam and Kara would be allowed to go for the future.

Book two in Odin’s Bastard series, Warrior Nights can easily be read as a stand alone. I liked the premise of dipping into mythology with Odin, Valhalla, Helheim and the Valkyries! It’s a realm I’m not super familiar with (besides Thor movies and yummy Chris Hemsworth!) and it was a fun change over Roman or Greek mythology based stories. If mythology, action, romance, and some colorful characters are your thing, then this book is worth a spin!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoy this roller coaster ride of a professional assassin and Valkyrie. The story was very captivating and never a dull moment. The romance was believable and touching. I since I read it out of order, I am going to read the first book. I admit I found a new author and series.

Sheryl Nantus is a new-to-me author and definitely one I’m keeping an eye out on. Warrior Nights was an interesting read with captivating characters and a intriguing storyline...kept me on the edge of my seat as I read to find out what was going on.

Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

Warrior Nights took me by surprise as the characters are written so well and I really enjoyed Kara and Jack's (Liam) romantic adventures. The danger, the excitement, amnesia, chemistry, romance, and character development kept me reading until way too late last night so that I could find out what happened. Liam was a dangerous assassin, but Jack has a big heart full of thanks and service to help others.

I thought the amnesia part would be a little overdone as it seems like this story has been told too many times. Instead, I was delighted with the uncovering of some of Kara's memories of Valkyrie and Valhalla. The discomfort that Jack experiences when Kara latches on to a childhood book on the same topics intrigued me..and of course there is quite the story there!

Warrior Nights offers themes of redemption and discovery of who we are and what we want our purpose to be in life. I love the way author Sheryl Nantus weaves these themes within the adventures and danger. Definitely a fun read!!!
Thank you to Sheryl Nantus, NetGalley, and Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. As always, my opinions are my own.

This was a new author for me but I will be reading more by her. I enjoyed the twists and great world building. Kara's past, present and future blended so well. Jack's lineage was a shock. The ending was just perfect.

"Warrior Nights" is an interesting fantasy/thriller with some romance elements. Kara shows up at Liam's door without any memories of her life or knowledge of where she has been- she only knows her and his names. Considering that Liam is going by a different name and hasn't seen Kara since the week they spent together in Vegas over a year ago, Liam is shocked by this turn of events. He takes Kara into town to try to track down who she was before.

Kara learns that Liam was an assassin who had a revelation when he was working as a mercenary and is working to turn his life around. He saw some soldiers come to take rations from a village, but the villagers had none to spare and the soldiers attacked. After the battle ended with many civilian casualties, valkyries came to take the civilians to Valhalla and other valkyries came for the soldiers. After that, he gave his money to charity and now gives back in whatever ways he can. He is trying to move forward in a better way- although he knows he cannot erase the red in his ledger, he wants to do some good with the rest of his life.

Kara is helping him and contributing for herself as well. Although she doesn't remember all of her past, she wants to do good also. As they spend more time together, their romance is rekindled. However, their happiness is soon to be short-lived when Liam's past catches up to him. Following with fantasy/thriller/action scenes, the book is very fast-paced and the romance takes a backseat to the overall plot of the battles/dangers.

I found the book really interesting and not quite what I expected- but enjoyable nonetheless. The story was really engaging, and like Kara and Liam, I also fell in love with the town and its people. It was easy to get invested in the story and in the backstory of the two main characters. I would definitely be interested in reading more from this world (but with even more romance!). There are some really great romance scenes in the first half of the book, but the second half is a little full of other things (e.g. battles and danger)- I'd be up for more in this case though! I would definitely recommend this book for people who like fantasy/thriller type stories with a dose of romance!

Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.
