This review is not going to be long. I am not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.

This is the first book by Kiersten Fay that I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Her style of writing. keeps you interested and waiting for more. I cannot wait to read more of her books.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

I absolutely LOVED this book. While it was a compilation of popular tropes and things I've seen in previous books and movies/shows, I honestly thought it was done well enough and unique enough to stand on it's own leg. I'm an avid reader of fanfiction, and this felt like a crossover of some of my favorite fandoms!

Naia's secret was interesting, and it did get her into a few sticky situations, but I feel like it was underplayed a lot and could have been used in bigger scenes.

Steamy. Mysterious. A page turner! I couldn't put this book down. I read it over the course of two or so days and I'm beating myself up for waiting so long to pick it up. All the newly released paranormal romance just keeps raising the bar higher and higher! I can't wait to see what comes next.

I only got through 10 pages of this book, before putting it down. Nothing about the story drew me in.

The setting of this book is an alternative future in which vampires live out in the open and humans, for the most part, just try to scramble by. I liked the world-building well enough but other than that, this unfortunately wasn't my cup of tea and I ended up skimming a lot.
The heroine, secretly of siren descent, is sent by her boss to spy on the hero. They meet, fall in instalust which is one of my personal turn-offs and spend a night together after which the hero whisks her away to a trip on his personal island. The hero is OK as a character, while powerful and overbearing, he's not an alphahole. The heroine however lacks in backbone and strength of character and the disparity in power between the two is enormous. Both story and writing are full of clichés and instead of character development or plot furthering we are lambasted with lengthy descriptions of the luxuries the hero showers the heroine with or gratuitious sex scenes. I haven't enjoyed this trope since Pretty Woman and unfortunately, everything else in the book is also things you've read a thousand times before.
I really wanted to like this, but due to lack of originality and a very boring heroine I was rather disappointed.

First off, I like the cover I thought it was super sexy. Love the page markers. Very elegant. I was a bit baffled by the main character's name, Naia Devoe. I thought a better one could've been chosen. One that made a little more mainstream sense. I loved the character descriptions. But my biggest point is I feel like the strip club atmosphere definitely cheapens the story a bit. I'm not a fan of it. I am however a fan of the instant chemistry between the characters but also not a fan of the slow burn that feels a bit tedious after a while. All in all, I liked it for the most part, but I still felt it was lacking for me. 4/5 stars.

Kiersten Fay! Why didn't I know of you sooner? Naia is a strong woman with a unique ability, she fights for what she wants and doesn't cave nor does she play by anyone else's rules. She's amazingly well written like all characters are. Also Cortez was not what I thought he would be. He's not your typical alpha trying to boss the female character around nor does he tell her what to do. His actions are plausible and don't seem like he's letting his alpha male side show just to prove he can.

Naia is half siren and must sing in order to stay well and not harm others. She is encouraged by her current boss to seek employment at another club and spay on the manager to see if anything illegal was happening in the club. She was motivated by money she needs to pay towards her brother’s gambling debts. She didn’t expect the instant explosive and definitely mutual attraction to Cortez, the club owner/manager. He is unable to read her mind with his vampire gifts which intrigues him more. Their relationship smolders and leaves the reader breathless. Such passion! Such love!

What a spectacular book! I was so enthralled by the writing and I just kept waiting for the bottom to drop out on their situation. There was such a connection between Naia and Cortez it is a fun, wild ride they go on in this book. Really fascinating story line and great characters!

This is my first book by this Author but I am not sure as yet if it will be my last . I can honestly say that the story arc was good , although it seems to take bits and pieces from TV series , Vampire books as the premise for this world ……. and the characters were a little wooden and predictable , I found it hard to relate to them overall .

We have a Siren who needs to sing , who needs to protect her brother and takes a job spying on a Vampire - which she is sooooo unqualified to do .
We have a Vampire night club owner who meets all the clichés , just read about the chocolate covered strawberries ……. neither fully trust each other but the ending was great .
Put the two together and I am not sure if it is a recipe for success but it did keep me entertained .

I was given an ARC of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

2.5 Stars

This was one those reads that was okay in the moment, but which I had no problem putting down to do the dishes. In fact, it's one of those books which reminds me to be grateful to goodreads for keeping track of my reads...so I don't accidentally buy it in a year when I've completely forgotten I've read it.

The characters were decent enough, but their chemistry was lacking for me. I just wasn't feeling it, sadly. The side characters were also flat and wooden.

Also, in many ways, this read like an amalgamation of different movies, TV shows, and books series I've read/seen in the past.

The book takes place in a world where vampires are now known to the human world and have their own governing agency, etc., a la True Blood...The heroine stands out to the hero because <spoiler>he can read everyone else's mind, except hers, a la Twilight</spoiler>, the hero gets the heroine a makeover and flies her off for a date on his fancy helicopter, a la Pretty Woman, the hero runs his own ridiculously popular nightclub, a la Lucifer, and - the most cliche - the hero brings out the dessert tray AKA the chocolate sauce as sex props, a la every cliche romance EVER.

I won't be continuing with the series and, while I didn't hate it, I also wouldn't really recommend it either. I'd be pretty annoyed if I paid for this one, actually. But, It might just be me. I've been in a bit of a slump lately and lots of my friends really liked it.

Keeping His Siren
by Kiersten Fay

A spy who doesn’t know how to spy. A vamp who wants the spy and can’t keep his hands off her.

Quite the plot, Naia DeVoe is a Siren and needs to sing. Her current boss, has asked to spy to on a man named Cortez, to pay her brothers debt off. And she agrees.

Cortez is the owner of the Ever Night club, and Vampire. He’s amused yet miffed when a beautiful slip of a girl walks in looking to speak with Cortez and not a bar monkey.

Cortez does end up hiring her, she tried once to spy, but she never does any work related work. They both struggle to trust each other. But the ending, and wow the stuff that happens to Naia is insane. You’ll just have to read it to find out, but I really liked this story!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Never read this author before but intend to read more of her books. This is the story of Naia and Cortez, Naia is a siren that is trying to take care of her brother, plus maintain control of her supernatural abilities. When her brother gets into trouble she needs to make some fast money. She decides to spy on the competition for her boss. She enters a pool match with a male that becomes a winner take all. Who is the winner? This book is a don’t wanna put down type.

I read this book as an ARC for NetGalley

This was a great read with wonderful characters. Naia was so much fun to read about as she and Cortez developed their steamy relationship. She has her problems and I love how she approaches each one. The chemistry between her and Cortez was great with lots of sexy time. Cortez was a treat to read about and I loved how he treated Naia. Can't wait for the next book! I am voluntarily giving my honest review on a free copy I received from the author.

Oh my what a lovely book! I've been getting into paranormal romance over the last year and I'm not regretting my decision to pick up that first book.

Keeping His Siren has a good, strong storyline which leaves you wanting more. I tried to savor this book, but I just flew through it (time flies when you're having fun).

All the characters has a proper and well thought out personality. Only the MC was given a tight backstory, but that is fine considering we, the reader, read from her perspective and she doesn't know every single detail about people either.

This book is full of smut (duh) but where with any mature fanfiction things are a little over the top Kiersten did a wonderful job at showing just how magical (and primal) sex can be. She wrote every mature scene in a very tasteful way. What I also love is the fact that the author didn't overdo it. Yes, there was a lot of sex, but there weren't too many scenes with it. Again, the amount of descriptive scenes was tasteful.

This book is great for fans of J.R. Ward and Larissa Ione. I will definitely check out some of Kiersten Fay's other books.

A deliciously, exhilarating paranormal romance that follows Naia & Cortez and their palpable connection.

Naia is sent to spy and collect intel on vampire Cortez, but what happens when you fall for the person you should be collecting information on?

A tantalisingly engaging read full of suspense and steam!

Keeping His Siren is book 4 in the Creatures of Darkness series. It has been years since I have read a book by this author but I couldn't resist when I read the description. It is definitely a stand alone and very enjoyable. I'm not usually a fan of a relationship beginning with a deceit but Naia was the worse spy so I gave her a pass. I loved Cortez, his protective and possessiveness was something that I always enjoy. Now what didn't work for me is that the middle felt slow and some of the scenes were repetitive. Overall fans of PNR would definitely enjoy but don't expect anything new or different which was fine for me. I definitely plan to keep my eye on this author again.

I've really enjoyed books by this author before, so was keen to read this but was slightly disappointed. Naia, our heroine, is being blackmailed into spying on Cortez. This is a common enough plot device I suppose to bring two people together and keep them close, but in this case, I found her anxiety about being coerced overshadowed her growing relationship with Cortez. I liked Naia, but I couldn't relate quite so much to Cortez. The writing is good though, so if this is your sort of thing, you'll enjoy it more than I did.

Too hot for teacher. This romance sans mystery was very electric. The author weaves a tale of espionage, revenge, violence and sex into a hard to put down supernatural book. There are many twists and turns within the pages to keep the reader wanting more, in addition to the hot and heavy sex scenes disbursed throughout the book. You will want to read the other Ever Night books just too see how Naia and C's story ends.

Keeping His Siren is the fourth book of Kiersten Fay’s Creatures of Darkness series. However, it’s a standalone.

I didn’t read the first few books but I kinda wish I did cause the the setting wasn’t exactly descriptive or believable. The book takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where vampires are known to humans and the economy is trash. We’re back in a time where cell phones are apparently a luxury and the streets are in ruins. I didn’t get that vibe. Everything we saw was very lux in this book for the most part.

But anyway the book was slow to start but it picked up when the heroine and hero, Naia and Cortez, start to get together. Naia had me in stitches! Her humor and wit was hilarious and I loved her sass. Same with a lot of the side characters. I found myself wanting to be apart of the clan lol

Naia and Cortez had explosive chemistry too! Loved their love scenes and dialogue, though some scenes were predictable at first. But this definitely unraveled into a book that I couldn’t put down. The suspense and tension was an instant page turner!
