As much as I enjoy Donna Grant’s paranormal stories, I get excited when I get the chance to read one of her contemporary books and this didn’t disappoint! Loved the chemistry between Caleb and Audrey

My Favorite Cowboy is a good fit for readers looking for a heartwarming and passionate love story set in the world of ranching and horse care, featuring a strong, dedicated female protagonist and a tough yet vulnerable cowboy with a military background.

Caleb Harper doesn't do permanent. If he doesn't get close to anyone, they can't leave him. But the minute he sees equine vet Audrey he's hooked. Audrey's inability to discover why some horses at the rescue are falling ill is frustrating her. When someone goes after her test samples, and then goes after her, Caleb takes it personally and names himself her protector. The problem is, he wants to be more, only his fear is standing in his way.

Donna Grant knows how to write an intense, emotional story that speaks to the heart of her characters. We met Caleb and his brother in The Christmas Cowboy Hero, the first book in the series. He was barely a teenager then. He struggled then to get over the fact his mother had deserted him and his siblings and struggles still. Ms. Grant gives us a complete picture of the young man who carries that fear close, not knowing how to let it go, but knowing letting go is the only way he can have the life he craves - with both his brother and with the woman he loves.

A great story! Caleb was never going to settle down, even after seeing his brother and sister overcome their obstacles. Audrey works hard to be an amazing equine vet to forget that it’s just her and her sister against the world. It was great to see the East/Harpers and friends come together again to help. Caleb and Audrey had good chemistry and it was a great storyline.

This is book 3 of the Heart of Texas Series. Audrey is a vet, she is so busy with her work, that she doesn't leave any time for meeting a man. She needs Caleb's help to save the lives of horses that she has been trusted in help. But can she also trust him with her heart?

An enjoyable read. A premise that is different than what I am used to seeing, but I could have wished the twist was set up a little bit better. The crux of the story was something we weren't even aware of until the big reveal. Still, the characters were enjoyable and the book definitely held my interest.

My Favorite Cowboy is the third title in the Heart of Texas series and features Audrey Martinez and Caleb Harper.
Whilst this pair are complex and flawed, their story dragged for me, and I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as the previous titles in the series.
The drama and suspense were the elements that kept my attention, and although I did finish this title, I did put it down quite a few times between other reads.

Even the mightiest fall under the weight of true love and Donna Grant proves it in this amazing story of a man who finally meets his match. I have found this series to get more and more amazing as the emotional turmoil and healing becomes more intense with each siblings’ story and Ms. Grant truly has the ability to make me cry while hoping that the lovers manage to overcome all odd to find their HEA. If you have followed this series then you recognize Caleb as the youngest brother of the Harper clan and the one with the most fears and trauma from the desertion of his mother when he was very young. Now he is an established ranch owner and horse trainer that is making a huge mark on the horse business in their area, but he refuses to let any woman hold his attention for more than a night. Caleb runs into Audrey as she is investigating a group of deathly ill horses at the local auction house run by one of their shared friends and he is instantly and insanely attracted to her, in more than just the usual physical ways. Audrey has dedicated her life to the health and safety of horses and she is devastated that she can’t figure out why the horses she loves are dying, but soon the truth show that the danger is even greater than simple sickness and could lead to even more danger for herself. Audrey and Caleb begin to see that the horse sickness is more than a single event and that her reputation and possibly her life might be in danger. The Harper-East family immediately rally around Audrey and her sister, keeping them safe, and working to discover the full extent of the plot that has shaped up around them, but the more time they spend together the more Caleb wants Audrey. Soon Caleb can no longer deny that the feelings he has for Audrey go way beyond his usual need for lust for a woman, and giving in to it is terrifyingly easy while devastatingly hard at the same time. When their fears pull them apart, Audrey and Caleb have to decide if the love that has developed between them is enough to keep them together or if they are going to give up on the greatest passion they have ever felt. I loved getting to know these two and finally seeing Caleb overcome his fears in order to become the man he was always mean to be with a full and giving heart dedicated to the woman that stole it from him. He was a strong, dedicated, and sensual man with the sweetest nature and the ability to overcome even the fears of a woman that doesn’t trust easily even while dealing with his own fears. Audrey’s devotion to her duties as a vet and discovering what is hurting the horses she loves made me love her immediately, but once I got to know her and see how smart and amazing she was in other way I began to like her as well just like Caleb did. These two lit a fire in one another from the very first moment they set eyes on each other, but because they fought it so hard, when they did finally give in the flames burned so hot that I had to put the book down for a cold showed just to be able to finish it. After another sleepless night where I refused to go to bed until this one was finished, I can honestly say it was my favorite of the three so far and I am looking forward to the next in the series and hopefully many more to come. Magic as always Donna, but boy-oh-boy you outdid yourself this time for sure and will have a lot of live up to with the next one!

As always, I appreciate the opportunity to read and review one of your titles. Unfortunately, this title didn’t work for me and I have chosen not to review it.
Please also let me extend my apologies for this being so incredibly late (as I am guessing it’s more than obvious I didn’t review at this point) as I like to hold negative or DNF reviews until a title is no longer available on NetGalley, and sometimes posting once it has been archived slips my mind.

Third series from Heart of Texas, this one is about Caleb of Harpers.
Audrey Martinez, an equine veterinarian who has been sought by many ranch owners and Caleb was one of those owners who wanted Audrey. However, she is committed to two ranches exclusively and spends spare time looking after shelter animals. When her good friend calls for her veterinary help, she finds three horses being sick. She is doing her best to cure them but things keeps happening and she becomes a clear target.
Caleb is easy going and loves any company of women and when he faced Audrey, he couldn't get her off his head. When Harper brothers finds Audrey and their mutual friend needs their help, he end up spending more time with Audrey and he is attracted to her. However, they will need to find out what's happening to these horses and on the way to figure things out, things gets more heated between Audrey and Caleb and he will need to find away to protect her. It's not just horses he will need to protect.
Audrey and Caleb are getting closer than ever but they will have to communicate better if they want to pursue their feelings and it won't be easy for both. More threat looming and her sister gets hurt.
Harpers will always protect their friends. Is Audrey a just a friend or more than a friend?
I enjoy reading this series. This book didn't disappoint. I can't wait to read the next one.
Thanks to St. Martin and Netgalley for ARC in exchange for honest review.

My Favorite Cowboy is a wonderful contemporary romance featuring an intriguing plot.

Audrey Martinez has devoted her life to horses, so when a friend comes to her when four of his horses turn up with a mysterious illness, Audrey doesn't hesitate to try and find the cause. When it becomes clear foul play is involved, the horses and Audrey need protection until she can get to the bottom of the situation. Caleb Harper is just the man for the job, a former military man with connections that can help keep Audrey safe. But as Caleb and Audrey spend time together, their instant attraction threatens to consume them both.

The romance in the book takes a bit of time to get going, but when it does it is fantastic. Audrey and Caleb are attracted to each other from the minute they set eyes on each other, however the situation they're in doesn't allow them to act on that immediately. Instead there's a nice buildup of that attraction and the two form a nice little friendship while working together. I loved how the two were able to open up to each other, particularly about things they've never talked to anyone else about. When there's a lull in the horse situation, the two take a break at Caleb's ranch and from there the heat between them goes up exponentially. Their chemistry is amazing and when they finally give in to their attraction, the scenes are steamy and incredibly well done. I will say the obstacles to their starting a real relationship were good ones and it actually made sense why neither of them would want to start something. I liked the way the author dealt with those issues and overall I was happy with the romance.

The plot in this book centers around Audrey trying to uncover why several of her friend's horses have gotten sick. The reasoning behind it becomes clear pretty quickly although it does take a fair amount of time to discover the exact cause of the illness. I haven't read many books that feature a vet as the main character and I found it quite interesting. Audrey is clearly good at what she does and I liked watching her work. When we find out who is behind everything, the situation made a lot of sense. Although I will say I didn't understand why it took so long for the characters to figure things out as it seemed a bit obvious to me.

Overall I really enjoyed My Favorite Cowboy and I will definitely be picking the rest of the series in the future.

This is book 3 in Heart of Texas series. It is about Caleb. Brice and Caleb own a ranch and train horses. Audrey Martinez is an equine veterinarian whose services are services are highly sought after. When some horses get poisoned and it becomes clear that someone is trying to frame Audrey for it, a little mystery is thrown into the story. It was a slow read, but all the issues related to their parents and the mystery got resolved quickly.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC

This wasn’t my favorite Donna Grant book. Not because of her or the way it was written or anything, purely personal reason. I’m not big on military anything. Especially when romance is involved. I was married to a soldier. So whenever I see anything that reminds me of him, my stomach just turns.

Welcome to phenomenal cowboy book full of mystery, conspiracies and a large dose of love.

Yes it is all of this. The first chapter setups the intense storyline with veterinarian Audrey Martinez called in by a close family friend to see why his horses are getting sick and what from. During this very descriptive chapter Author Donna Grant sets up the main characters and several secondary characters. With this chapter she also leads the reader into a "who done it" with precision and expertise.

Audrey and her sister, Maddy are both fully developed characters showing how hard it is for sisters to understand each other through their differences and love for each other. The constant friction between them adds an element of tension that increase the mystery to the storyline.

Caleb Harper finally gets his story and I am delighted on how it was handled in this book. He has always been a tough and hard to read character causing me to wonder what drove him to be so hard headed and against relationships. The reader will discover the answer to that question in this book.

All the characters from the previous two books to this series make a showing in this book and I loved the diversity of all of them when they are in the same room. I would truly love to be at a dinner with all of them. Now that would be a fun night.

This book includes lots of twists and turns. But..... the most enjoyable thing is that you think you know the answer to the ending but you will be surprised and have a few tears added for good measure.

Sportochick's Musings gives 5 STARS for this storyline continuing the fine job of showing how families work together with friends to solve the seemingly impossible odds.

Espero poder leer esos libros tambien.

The third book in the series and this one has Caleb who is not looking for love or thinking he will find someone. He begins to work along with his brother and brother in law with a new veterinarian who has come into the area. Working at finding why horses are becoming sick and dying she cannot find anything for the cause. What she does find is more sick animals and that is making him upset. Once Caleb and her meet there is an attraction and he finds himself spending more time helping her to find the cause. When the tables turn and people want to accuse Audrey that she is making the horses ill on purpose it has now ruffled his family feathers as to something else going on. A good book with the same characters from the last book and with not only a love story but also a mystery.

3.5 stars.
This is my second book by Donna Grant and the third book in the "Heart of Texas" series. The previous one that I read was "A Cowboy Like You" and it is actually the next book in this series. I did like it slightly better but both books were essentially really good reads for me.
I am definitely enjoying this "new to me" author's writing style, as well as her characters and plots.

However, I would like to point out that these books aren't so much cowboy romances as they are romantic suspence novels- they are engaging and fast reading, they can essentially be read as standalones even though there is plenty of crossover between characters from the other books in the series. Because of that I definitely want to go back and read the previous 2 books that I missed out on- especially Abby and Clayton's story (book 1).

Audrey as the equine vet was a strong and caring heroine....I loved the close relationship she shared with her sister Maddy......sweet and nurturing.
Caleb, the cowboy rancher.....might have become smitten with Audrey a little to fast for my liking...but they did meet under extreme circumstances and the attraction was also mutual.....so I can make allowances there.
My only complaint here..... is that the Ending felt a little too rushed for me..... but there is a brief epilogue included here, which helped make up for it.

I have been a fan of Donna Grant for sooo many years that my shelves have almost all her books. This was just an absolutely amazing addition to that shelf. The characters and storylines that were contained in between the pages were unique and kept me entertained for several hours. This is a book you can take with you anywhere and not have to worry that other people are wondering what you're reading!!

I thought this was good. The writing flowed well for the most part, but there wasn't really a lead up to what was going on, the reader is put right in the middle of sick horses from the start. It felt like there was part of the story I was missing. Also, I wasn't a fan of all the different POVs in this story. The bad guy gets a couple of spots, and so do a few more secondary characters. I would rather just read from the main characters POV. I did like Audrey and Caleb together, I thought they made a good couple. The had both been through things, and could help each other come to terms with them. The thing with her dad seemed to be resolved way too easily in my opinion. The ending for them was super sweet, and I liked seeing them get their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
