ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review
I have such terrible bookzheimer's that I didn't realise this book was part of the Heart of Texas series until I started reading and remembered reading the other two books - derp!
Caleb has been the hold out of these Texas boys, and I knew it was going to take some kind of extraordinary woman to take him off the market.
Audrey got me from the start (though I don't understand her love of horses - they are the beasts of satan lol).
I loved being taken along with Caleb and Audrey as they fight their feelings for each other, and as they fight the person/s who have it out for her.
It was great to get more of Clayton/Abby and Brice/Naomi. I love how strong their familial bonds.
I wanted to slap both Caleb and Audrey with my kindle at times to get some sense into their heads, however I knew they would get their crap together in the end.
I enjoy Donna Grant's writing style. I always feel that I am in the book with the characters rather than an outsider looking in. She drew me into life on the ranch, and kind of made me want to get on a plane and go visit.
I look forward to what Ms Grant brings us next.

What an edge of your seat story! There is so much intrigue, action and romance in this story you will not be able to put it down. The story will just pull you into the intense action.
The characters were perfect for the story.
I highly recommend this book to be one you don't pass over. Written very well and the story flowed perfectly. Definitely looking forward to reading more about the characters in this book.

Absolutely loved this one. Even with the commitment issues that hold everyone back, from beginning to end this was a page turner of enjoyment! I lost myself completely in this story and can only say the author is one that knows how to weave a very intricate plot with many layers. So if you want a wonderful commitment challenged romance this is definitely one for you. I received this arc via NetGalley. All opinions stated here are my own and completely voluntary. Great storyline! This had me turning the pages to see what was next. I could see, hear and feel all the events as they unfolded.
As for Caleb and Audrey themselves, for being so self-assured and established, they seemed rather immature about their feelings for each other. I could have used less of the back and forth indecissiveness. It slowed the pace for me, as I was more about the drama and mystery here, which is unusual bc I love romance. All in all, a very good read.
I received an ARC thru Net Galley and am voluntarily reviewing.

3.75stars
Very successful vet Audry has her hands full with a case of criminal horseplay one of the people who is helping her is Caleb ex-military and now a successful rancher. They get to know more of eachother while seeking for a cure and person responsible for the crime. The story was for me a little bit more likable than the previous. We see the characters from other books and how are they doing. I liked the suspense and mystery and the attraction between Audry and Caleb is strong. They had to sort out the baggage from the past to start enjoying their future.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

So good. I love this series by DG; it is so different from her Dark universe series. It is fresh, fun, and still filled with action, passion, suspense, and strong characters. This one follows the last Harper sibling to find love, Caleb, and a well known vet, Audrey, who is called in to help some ill horses. When the conflict intensifies and it becomes clear that she is the real target, Caleb and family all pitch in to figure out who is trying to hurt her. I loved it. I love this family, and I hope there will be more even though all three siblings have now found love. I really recommend this series; it is fresh and entertaining from start to finish and each book is awesome.

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
My first book from Donna Grant didn't go well with me but I'm glad I gave her a second chance with this book. My Favorite Cowboy is the third book in the Heart of Texas series but can be read as a standalone.
The story follows an equine veterinarian Audrey Martinez. She's hardworking, independent and passionate. You'll love her dedication in providing holistic care to horses. However, something strange happened in her family friend's ranch. The horses became ill and some of them dying. It's puzzling because she cannot trace its cause. She suspects they're poisoned and there's a foul play which is beyond her control.
The ranch owner seeks out more help with Caleb Harper. Caleb along with his brother Brice , brother-in-law Clayton and his former military friends, Cooper and Jace secured the area until they figure out who are the culprits. While everyone looks after the horses, Caleb is attracted to Audrey. Both of our protagonists aren't into relationships. Audrey is career driven and focus herself on work and Caleb dated a lot but nothing serious enough for him to settle down.
For me, Donna Grant redeems herself. I love the little suspense which kept me interested. Caleb and Audrey shared the love for horses and had a great teamwork solving the case. Their bonding builds up the romance and I really like the chemistry between them. Abandonment issues strained their relationship and eventually worked it towards the end.
I enjoyed it. The only thing I dislike is the closure for their respective parents. It could have done earlier. I just find it too late and rushed. I hope Maddy (Audrey's sister), Jace and Cooper get their own books.

4 1/2 stars. This is another awesome book in this series and I am kind of leaning towards calling it my favorite so far. Ms. Grant has given us so much to love with these well written and developed characters and Caleb and Audrey are no exception. A really good story line, some scary times, some really good emotional times and some hot sexy times kept me completely engrossed in the story and the outcome. I love that Abby, Clayton, Brice and Naomi are all such a big and important part of the story!! Caleb has been harboring so much distrust of women because of the way his mother left when he was just 6 years old that he only allows himself meaningless hook-ups. Audrey has always just focused on her career and being the best vet she can be and never thought about making a life with a man. They met under some stressful circumstances and are immediately drawn to each other. Can they be what each other has never thought they wanted or looked for? Will they let themselves be loved? Of course, because it wouldn't be a romance without a thoroughly satisfying HEA.
Thank you to Netgalley/Publisher for this ARC!

Book 3, sibling 3.
While each had their own issues it seems Caleb has the most issues. He’s locked down his heart to protect himself and has never had the intention of letting anyone in. That’s why his thing is one night stands. As is Audrey’s apparently. Though her reasoning is slightly different they have similarities between the two.
Audrey is a veterinarian, specifically equine. So when horses are becoming ill at an alarming rate she is brought together with Caleb.
As they try to figure it all out, they become closer together. Romance blossoms and suspense rises.

This romantic suspense title was filled with melodrama and insta-love.
Audrey Martinez is an equine veterinarian who is called to a friend's auction yard when some of his horses are sick. Audrey loves horses and has a reputation as an excellent vet, but their illness baffles her. Audrey has been focused on her career especially since the death of her mother and her father's decision to leave the family. It is just Audrey and her younger sister Maddy now.
Caleb Harper is a local ranch owner who has made a name for himself as a horse trainer since he left the Army and came back to begin his ranch with his brother Brice. He was raised by his sister Abby after his mother deserted the family when Caleb was six and Abby had just graduated from high school. Times were hard for them until Abby fell in love with rich rancher Clayton who helped her raise her brothers.
Both Audrey and Caleb are relationship-shy. Caleb's sense of abandonment shows in his history of having one-night stands and not having any relationship last more than a day or two. Audrey has also had a series of short-term relationships. Maddy says that it is because she is looking for Prince Charming and no real man can measure up to her ideal man.
But Caleb takes one look at Audrey when he comes to the auction barn and is fascinated. When Audrey is attacked and has her office ransacked, Caleb and his whole family take her and her sister under their wings and offers their protection.
While trying to solve the mystery of who is poisoning the horses and why, Caleb and Audrey fall in love. Naturally, given their histories, there are bumps in the road.
This was a nice romance albeit a little melodramatic. It is also third in a series but stands alone quite well.

I really enjoyed Caleb and Audrey's story. I have not read the previous two books in the series and it seems that this book is able to stand alone on its's own. This was a wonderful read filled with great chemistry and just enough suspense in the form of what is going on with the horses on Caleb's ranch. I was at the edge of my seat at times wanting to find out of the two were going to be able to find out what was going on. The way these two seemed to connect so quickly was hot and steamy. A definite must read for fans of sexy cowboys who are able to lasso the woman they want. Great HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I liked the premise of this book that mixed a standard romance story between a hot former Green Beret-turned-Cowboy and a dedicated equine veterinarian. Put on top of that a mystery of some poisoned horses and there could have been a winning combination. Instead I felt irritated by Caleb’s insistence to himself and his family that he could never have a lasting relationship with a woman because their mother abandoned their family when he was a little boy. I just didn’t buy that someone could diagnose his problem back to something that wasn’t his fault and acknowledge that but still think he was uniquely incapable of having a loving relationship even though he acknowledged that his sister and brother had survived the same family history and found love. It just felt artificial especially since he fell for hot vet Audrey as soon as he saw her.
The most interesting part of the story was the plot against the horses. The suspense built up and then was shelved for a good chunk of the novel while Audrey and Caleb have go through their romantic agonies. Then it all gets resolved in about one page. The payoff from the suspense that had been built up deserved more than a quick resolution. It’s as if the author got tired of that plotline so she finished it off so that she could back to the hero and heroine messing up their relationship because they were too stupid to just sit down and talk things out.
I ended up irritated with everyone - the characters and the author.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Audrey is a vet, I loved the way she cared for animals. She does have commitment issues. Caleb is youngest of three, he and his siblings had hard time growing up. He doesn't believe in happy ending. Will Audrey and Caleb get a chance to love, or their stubbornness win?

I was so surprised at not liking this book! I loved both previous books in this series and thought for sure this would be no exception. But to be perfectly honest, this book didn't even feel like it was written by the same author. At first, I really felt the chemistry between Audrey and Caleb, and I thought it was going to be super romantic. But then they basically had a one night stand and then for the rest of the book didn't talk. For five days, instead of trying to correct a misunderstanding, Caleb left Audrey to think he wasn't interested. They both gave up on each other way too easily, so it felt like a tension inserted into the story just to check a box. It felt unnecessary and forced. Then, when they do finally come together at the end, Caleb professes his love. And I just didn't buy it. Very disappointing. Hopefully the next book is more like the first two!

Very good!! Donna Grant has just added another great book to this series. This book had everything needed to grab my attention & keep it. Caleb was a hot, sexy cowboy with a military background, Audrey was a smart, intelligent, beautiful equine vet. The author brings them together when tragedy befalls something they both love....horses. With the lives of the horses at stake as well as Audrey’s career & eventually her own life, Audrey works hard to save the horses while Caleb tries to figure out who caused all of this& why. What neither expect is to be drawn to each other & fall in love. Definitely recommend this book & series.

:Love a good cowboy romance, this was a good book and because of the author .I would have bought it either way. This story needed to be told and when love is involved everyone wins.

Quick and easy read. Nothing was surprising with this one. It was great for what it was. Typical romance book.

I was given this book for free for an honest review. I liked this book and once started I had to read it all. The characters are very likeable and the close relationships between families, friends and siblings were very nice to read about. However, I felt that the mystery was solved too easy, the book does not let you question who the perpetrator is for too long. Also, I felt that the love story was a bit hurried and they fell in love with each other within days.

Audrey’s life was being the best equine veterinarian she could be. Her passion for horses could be seen in her work and she was highly coveted by the local ranchers to take care of their flock of horses. When horses are threatened she immediately steps in and tries to find out why they are sick. Meeting Caleb and having help towards finding the risk can be more than they both bargained for. The suspense will keep you awake long into the night as you become desperate to find the answers and if both characters can truly let go of the past to realize what they feel for each other only happens once in a lifetime.

This is the 3rd book in the Heart of Texas series and I would absolutely read the previous books before you read this one. This is about Caleb Harper and Audrey Martinez. Caleb is the brother of the main characters in books 1 and 2. Audrey is an equine veterinarian who has become fairly well known in their circles for being not only hard working but great with horses. A family friend comes to her to ask for help when some of his horses become sick, and when she suspects foul play, Caleb and his family are called to ask for help. Caleb is the younger brother of Abby and Brice. He truly doesn't believe that he will ever get married or have a family. He doesn't believe that people truly stay, not after what happened with his mother. But he doesn't expect to feel the things he does towards Aubrey. Neither one of them expect to feel the pull they do towards each other, and have no idea whether it is something that is real or just in the heat of the moment. And when things come to a head and Aubrey's life is in danger, will either of them admit the feelings they have? Or will they walk away in order to avoid heartache?
I think I loved this story even more than either of the other 2 books! Caleb has such emotional trauma from what his mother did and no one really knows exactly how much he truly has or knows what happened to him when she left. Aubrey has he own issues that she has to deal with and isn't sure she can trust in any kind of love. Throwing these two together and having them learn about what is truly important and how much someone can mean to you? It is beautiful! Even when things happen that make you wonder if they will break apart, you find out that their family understands exactly what family means. Including Jace and Cooper! Family isn't always about blood and I am glad that Caleb finally realizes that in this book!! And knowing that he has to work through what happened and actually forgive his mother for what she did, not for her, but for himself? That's truly mind blowing. Most people can't or won't do that, and never move beyond the issues they deal with from past trauma's. I love how it was written that! Now I am ever hopeful that Jace, Cooper, and now Aubrey's sister will have their own stories because I love those characters just as much as I loved the main characters of these books!
