Pretty boring in my opinion, the clue were almost all there and there were too many people from other books and their already told stories, I will not read other books from this series.

Piuttosto noioso e come giallo niente di che, inoltre c'erano troppi personaggi da altri libri che avevano giá avuto le loro storie. Non credo leggeró altro da questa serie.

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

Book three and wow do I love this series. We meet the Harper/East clan again when Caleb is home from his military service and now working with his brothers, finding his place fitting in. This book had a different twist than the first two, plenty of suspense along with the plot which is stellar.
Audrey Martinez is an Equine Vet and in high demand. She's come back to fill the space her father left when he disappeared after their mother died. She now has her younger sister living with her as well who is a bit out there, but she's a huge help to Audrey. Audrey is under contract with two of the larger horse farms but helps out with any animal that's at the shelter and also at the auction barn. She does that on the QT and when a horse becomes ill, the owner calls Audrey in. Audrey can't figure out what's wrong with the horse and does the usual testing, anything beyond that has to be sent out of town. Meanwhile she meets Caleb and there's a lot of push pull there. Hold on to your cowgirls britches for that. The suspense builds and we meet the Harper brother's again as well as their sister and her husband. Audrey is family now, along with her sister when things really heat up and both are threatened. I'm going to leave it at that so you can read all the twists and turns this great book takes.
I enjoyed the suspense in this one and loved Caleb and Audrey. Can't wait for the next book.

A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. The problems that start at the auction house only to be because of a better veterinarian who has great jobs offered her. It is about friends who come together and help solve the problem. Family and friends are everything with this story.

I wasn't feeling too much holiday reading so this worked. It had a mystery and suspense element that made it better. Both Caleb and Audrey were both not into committment and relationships. Both into their jobs and were all for casual until they met the other. Their was just something there as much as they tried to deny and avoid it. Plus since they both are involved into this horse poisoning happening with no one knowing why heats things up.

It may seem sudden but the attraction lead to more and while they had bumps along the way and their own misgivings. They got through it with the help of siblings and family. It was fun knowing the Harper East clan and they do take care of family. I liked the story engaging and you feel right on the horse ranches. Equine vets are interesting not the usual type. I like this series.

I will definitely be reading more of this author’s books. Well developed characters, alpha males, romance and intrigue. What more could anyone ask for? Don’t miss this one.

“My Favorite Cowboy” is the third novel in Donna Grant’s Heart of Texas series. Audrey Martinez is a much sought after veterinarian and when a family friend contacts her about some severely horses at his auction barn, she has no problem dropping everything to help out. Upon her arrival she is faced with a dilemma because she has no idea what is going on. Caleb Harper just happens to arrive at the barn and hears about the mysterious illness. Caleb is instantly attracted to Audrey and something inside him requires Caleb to help Audrey and keep her safe. The road ahead for these two people is difficult at best, but they just may be able to pull it off. This was engaging story that was well written by Ms. Grant. I was given an advanced copy of this book, and all of the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I really liked the suspense part of the book, but didn't connect with the characters on the romantic level. The book was definitely very fast paced and the characters fell in love pretty quickly, but that's how some romance novels are. I wanted to really like this book and read most of it pretty quickly, but Audrey and Caleb didn't have the spark that is usually there when I read a great romantic book. **ARC provided by NetGalley. Donna Grant is still a new author to me, but having read a few of her contemporary novels I can now say that I won't hesitate to pick up more in the future. She has a knack for building her characters and making her readers feel connected to them. She also writes interesting story lines and downright gorgeous romances that will make any reader swoon! I look forward to reading more in the near future!

"My Favorite Cowboy" is a cowboy romantic suspense that primarily follows Caleb and Audrey. Audrey is an equine veterinarian called out by a friend to look at some horses which have suddenly and suspiciously gotten sick. While it could be something contagious, it has all the hallmarks of poison. He also calls Caleb to help look at his security system and keep the horses safe in the meantime.

While Audrey works against the clock for the sick horses, evidence begins to build that the horses were poisoned and that someone is targeting her specifically, knowing that she would be the one called out to care for them. As they work together, Caleb and Audrey are drawn to each other. Each has never had a serious relationship due to things in their past, but they know that they want something more together.

As the book solves the mystery of what happened to the horses (and later, related crimes), it also focuses on Caleb and Audrey addressing their personal histories to be able to move on and let a romantic partner get close. As a couple, I really liked them. The book is really propelled forward by the mystery of what is happening to the horses and who is targeting Audrey. This fast-paced book kept me quickly page turning to the end. Overall, it's a really enjoyable read with a great mystery/suspense and a nice touch of romance.

Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Caleb Harper is a former Green Beret turned horse rancher. Where women are concerned, he is the ‘love them and leave them’ type. Caleb’s intuition leads him to look into the strange malady affecting his friend’s horses. Despite the dire situation, he cannot help but be attracted to the pretty veterinarian tending them. When someone sabotages Audrey’s good name, Caleb comes to her rescue. Can Caleb find the ones responsible for poisoning the horses? Will he be able trust Audrey with his vulnerable heart?
Audrey Martinez is a well-known and sought-after equine veterinarian. As a favor, she treats a family friend’s sick horses. Audrey meets the sexy Harper brothers, who offer to investigate the horses’ mysterious illness. It soon becomes evident that someone is trying to besmirch her hard-earned reputation. Audrey has no other choice but to enlist Caleb’s help in ferreting out the culprit. Can Audrey give up her workaholic ways for Caleb? Or will their individual issues stand in the way of their budding relationship?
I fondly remember Caleb as the enthusiastic boy in book one, THE CHRISTMAS COWBOY HERO. Strangely, it feels like I watched him grow from that generous boy into a fine, young man. I like how each Harper suffers from their abandonment issues differently. Caleb is aware of his handicap. I admire how he ignores his instincts of pushing Audrey away, despite his fear of engaging his heart. But what I adore the most about Caleb is his sense of loyalty. There is little he would not do to help or protect the people he sees as family and friends.
Audrey is the perfect fit for Caleb. The two have much in common despite their different backgrounds. Both have difficulties committing themselves to relationships due to abandonment issues. Audrey buries her handicap in her work. I adore Audrey’s dedication to her equine patients. She works tirelessly in giving them the care they need, even to the point of sacrificing sleep and food. Audrey wants a love like her parents. She refuses to accept second-best.
MY FAVORITE COWBOY is book three in Donna Grant’s cowboy-themed romantic suspense series, HEART OF TEXAS. I love that Abby, the heroine from THE CHRISTMAS COWBOY HERO, plays a more active role in this story. I missed that from the second book. Also, I like how the Harpers finally find closure with their mother’s abandonment.
MY FAVORITE COWBOY is a suspenseful tale of two wounded souls overcoming their internal issues to love. I cannot wait for more in this series. I want Jace and Cooper to find their happily-ever-after.

I was very excited when I got a copy of this book through NetGalley, because I am a bit partial to Cowboys, so I was a bit disappointed when I didn't love it quite as much as I thought I would. The storyline was fine and I liked the characters, but the back and forth about the abandonment issues dragged a bit for me, though there were some steamy love scenes. I didn't loose myself completely in the book, something I look for in a good read, but overall enjoyable.

This one started a bit slow for me but when it grabbed me I was hooked. It usually takes me a bit into a new book in a different genre when I am used to the author's genre I read most but like when I can enjoy all of the author's writing. I love country settings and rough, working men in books and with Caleb's military background...whew! Caleb and Audrey's instant attraction and chemistry were wonderful to watch grow. This was simply a wonderful romantic story that I enjoyed from beginning to end.

I loved this - like so much. It was a great mixture of raw and sweet. Two people who were seriously damaged by the actions of their parents. I don't think either H or h really realized how damaged they were until they met each other. I also, have to admit, I love this family. As with all of Donna Grant's books, even her fantasy books, the characters come across as real and true to themselves.

I can't wait to read about the other guys and gals Donna Grant has introduced in this series. And expecially to find out more about the lives we are already so invested in.

LOVE

Audrey is an equine vet and one of the most sought after in her county. She works with mainly two ranches but helps a rescue when she has time. Her dad’s friend calls her because some of the horses are getting sick. Caleb is former Green Beret and owns a ranch with his brother. He has abandonment issues and never sticks with one woman.
When Audrey figures out the horses are being poisoned, she and her sister Maddy, try to find out what kind. Caleb and some ranchers stay and help protect the women and horses. But it’s not really the horses they are trying to hurt, it’s Audrey and they want to ruin her career. Both have commitment issues but maybe together they can find happiness together, if they both don’t screw up.
Loved this story it has sex, hunky cowboys, action, and mystery. This is the third in this series and Ms. Grant leaves you anticipating the next book. Can be read as a stand-alone.

I loved Audrey and Caleb together, they both fought it but love won out in the end. The story line was very well written and kept you hooked to find out what was going to happen next.

Great story and I loved the characters - who doesn't love a handsome cowboy and a HEA? As usual, Ms. Grant doesn't disappoint in any genre and I hope to read more of this series soon.

This book is the 3rd in a standalone series.
It focuses on Caleb the youngest of the siblings. While you don't have to read the first 2 books, I say read them. The book was fast paced but definitely enjoyable.
Thanks for the Arc

**I received a copy of My Favorite Cowboy from St. Martins Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review** The opinions expressed below are mine alone and not solicited in any way.

My Favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant is the third book in her Heart of Texas series. I have enjoyed each one of these books in the series and it doesn't disappoint. This is Caleb and Audrey's story which has intrigue, mystery and each character battling their abandonment issues by parents.

Audrey Martinez is called out to a horse rescue where 3 of the horses are ill by a unknown poison. She's a new equine vet in her hometown and little does she know that someone with a vendetta against her will go to any lengths to destroy the evidence before she can find the cause and cure. When Caleb Harper happens to be there to help her but can both of them get over their parents leaving them when they were young? Will they find the culprit in time while finding out they really care for each other?

Caleb Harper who owns East Ranch with his siblings is horse whisperer looking a new rescues at David's Auction barn who witnesses Audrey puzzling three horses that have fallen ill. He just happens to be there when someone tries to burn all the evidence from the equine necropsy Audrey has done on one of the horses that died. Of course he's going to volunteer to protect Audrey even though both are gun shy from relationships. Can they find the person who seems to have a vendetta against her in time before they escalate to murder? Once they both decide that both Audrey and Caleb are each other's soulmate while resolving their own parental issues.

My hope is that Maddie will fall for either Jace or Cooper in perhaps just one more book?

This is the third book in the Heart of Texas series and features the youngest sibling, Caleb. Caleb was probably the most affected by his mother's abandonment of the the three children so it's stands to reason he has issues committing to a woman beyond one night. However, all that changes when he meets Aubrey and realizes that she might just be worth more than a night. Now he just needs to convince her of the same.
This was a great blend of romance and suspense that kept me reading past my bedtime. Of course it didn't hurt that the book featured a cowboy! Donna Grant's contemporary novels are definitely on my must read list.
