This was an okay read, I kinda wished I’d read the other books first, but I don’t know if I would go back and read them. The story was fast paced, but that’s not always a good thing as you don’t always get the character development. The overall story was good, but the mystery took over most the book and once that was solved, it ended very quickly, again not much development between the two main characters

A wonderful tale of family, intrigue and romance. After working years to build up a sterling reputation, veterinarian Audrey Martinez is a target. Someone was to ruin her at the least... or kill her. There are horses dying and an assault upon her sisters and the ladies need a hero. Lucky for them, they get multiple protectors...and Audrey gets a good man in the end.
Great interaction between characters and vivid descripions.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC. I love this series. Strong women and hot honorable men

I've received a ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

It was a slow start at the beginning of the novel that I debated rather or not I should drop it but I thought I would give it some time for the story to develop and I'm so glad I did.

The characters were really likable and the relationship didn't seem force nor rushed. I enjoyed the bubbling romance between Audrey and Caleb, their chemistry is impeccable. Highly recommend if you're looking for a romance novel with lots of twists and turns.

With the perfect mixture of romance and suspense, the story’s rapid pace and twists and turn of events will keep you turning the pages. You won’t be disappointed with the story’s outcome or in Audrey and Caleb and how quickly you become invested in their circumventing the obstacles attempting to prevent their finally finding their HEA.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

So this is either second or third in series, I started with Brice's book but they seem to elude to situations that they went thru, so I am going to make sure since I do not want to miss out. This was Caleb's story along with his love interest Audrey. We all know that Caleb is a playboy with no plans on changing that. He ends up meeting Audrey and she is an equine vet who was called in to assist Dave and the horses that he cares for in his auction house. They know that something sinister is happening. But as we learned from this family they go all in and they basically make you part of their protection. Calab's and Audrey's interest is there and they both would time to develop more but they are not having the chance to do so..Entertaining..Good to read on Brice and Naomi..

My Favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant is a great read, I could hardly put it down. Donna gives the reader a interesting story line with complex characters, a who done it and plenty of romance. The family backgrounds of the lead characters, Caleb and Audrey, make things difficult but the amazing part of their relationship is that they are both afraid of falling in love. The story itself is involved with Audrey, a veterinarian, helping, David, an old friend of her father's with some sick horses. Caleb gets involved when David asks about getting help with his security system from Caleb's brother-in-law, Clayton. Things get more and more involved as more horses are getting sick and Audrey can't seem to find out what's wrong with them. After one of the horses dies things heat up as Audrey finds out, with much difficulty, what's wrong with the horses. Caleb and his family are involved because, while the horses are the catalyst, Audrey is the intended victim. Now Caleb is trying to keep Audrey safe while not wanting to become involved with her. Finding out what's really going on is the mission. Things are going down hill as they can't figure out who is behind all the problems pointing to discredit Audrey. Finally thing become apparent to interested parties and a resolution is upcoming. The romance between Audrey and Caleb keeps the reader interested learning about how they feel and what's holding them back until there's a conclusion that is greatly satisfying.

My Favorite Cowboy is the 3rd book in the Hearts of Texas series, not having read the previous two in no way spoilt my enjoyment of this book, plus I now have two new books to read!
Audrey is an equine vet, superb at her job and much in demand, she has a deep love for horses and gives her all to her profession. When four horses belonging to a friend who owns an auction house suddenly become ill she responds immediately to his request for help. It soon becomes clear that the horses have been poisoned deliberately and Audrey faces a race against time to cure them. Through this she meets Caleb, previously a military hero he now trains horses and is something of a horse whisperer. Their attraction to each other is immediate and overwhelming but both have severe commitment issues, add this to the mystery of who is harming these horses and why and you have an excellent romantic thriller.
A great story, thoroughly readable and one in which I have no hesitation in recommending.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

Audrey is a veterinarian who absolutely loves animals. She is amazing at her job and is in high demand. She is asked to do a favor for a friend and tasked to find out why his horses are sick. This puts her on a path she didn't see coming. While she is trying to figure out who is hurting these animals, someone is trying to hurt her. With all this danger she comes face to face with a very good looking cowboy who is hell bent on protecting her.

Caleb is instantly attracted to Audrey. From the way she looks, her caring nature, her determination and her smile, Caleb who is a confirmed bachelor is blown away. Meeting her in a tense situation leads him to think that once he gets her between the sheets this attraction will fade and he will move on like all the others.

This book has it all - danger, suspense, laughter, drama, sexy times and family loyalty. I would highly recommend this book!

This is my first Donna Grant book and i really enjoyed this story. I loved the characters as well as as the story line. Audrey and Caleb worked well together and had an instant attraction and chemistry. Add a little suspense to the mix and it made the book perfect. My Favorite Cowboy is part of a series but can be easily read as a stand alone. I definitely will be checking out the first two books in this series.

Donna Grant hits it every time with her characters. I fell in love with the storyline by chapter 2.
The way her characters interact and stand behind friends no matter what, makes you want to crawl into the story just to be on the fringe.
She weaves a story so you can't put it down, then when you read the last page you want to just start over.

My Favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant is a fantastic contemporary romance. Ms. Grant has once again delivered a well-written book. The characters in this book are outstanding, but the dialog. Wow! The dialog and interaction between characters were perfect. Audrey is an equine vet and is called to help David, a friend of her father's when horses in his care are sick. David calls in Caleb and his family for security when they find the horses have been poisoned. Caleb and Audrey's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. This book captured me on the first page and held me hostage until the last. I loved reading My Favorite Cowboy and look forward to my next book by Donna Grant. My Favorite Cowboy is book 3 of the Heart of Texas Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Excellent hero and story. Makes me want to pick up the other two in this series. Great characters. "A copy of this book was provided by St. Martins Press via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

I really enjoyed this story, it was well written and I loved getting to know the characters.

I love this author's books and always jump at the chance to get my hands on a copy of her latest release and this one was no different. It is a well written and enjoyable story.

The only minor criticism I have was that I thought that the story was a little too predictable, I know the storylines in this series all tend to get the same, almost inevitable outcome, but I love reading how the characters get there.

For this one I felt like the story was dragged out almost to the end of the book and then it was all wrapped up in the final two-three chapters - it could have been expended at the end with some of the middle cut back to make it more enjoyable, but that's just my opinion.

Four stars from me for this one!

ARC received for review

It's brother Caleb's turn to find his HEA, and he does with horse veterinarian Aubrey. Lots of sparks flying in the middle of horses getting sick, people getting shot at, a stampede, busted up offices and a hot times in the bedroom. True love wins out in the end, but of course, not without some angst thrown in the mix.

My Favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant is my FIRST contemporary romance that I have read from Donna Grant and I haven’t read her in quite a while. But when I was offered the ARC of this book, I just knew I had to grab it up because one its Donna Grant and she is writing cowboys, so how could I ever resist? Because I never can resist a sexy cowboy in a stetson and boots. So I was really impressed with this book and I swept through the story very quickly…much faster than I even expected from myself. This is a mix of a military hero, some suspense/mystery elements, a vet as our heroine and some hot cowboy lovin’….so much goodness is contained in this book and I gobbled it up like it was chocolate.

Our story begins with our heroine, who is a veterinarian with a specific field in expertise in horses. She loves everything about horses and devotes everything to their protection and care. She works with two main ranches and is well known as one of the best in the area. She has the expertise but she also has a deep love for horses and that makes her someone that is highly coveted in the area. When a family friend, calls her in for help who runs an auction house for horseflesh and he has four horses that are getting sick with no reason why. She is devastated and determined why and she starts to realize that they are being poisoned on purpose but she has to be careful in giving them the right medication or it could kill them or worse. And this is where she runs into Caleb who is Texas true and tough. He is a military hero and also runs his own ranch in training horses and has a gift with them. When he and his family reaches out to Audrey to help discover who is behind the poisoning and why someone is targeting Audrey, sparks fly between them and true love is about to rear its head on them both.

I have to say that I was very impressed with how My Favorite Cowboy was written here. Now there is no doubt that Donna Grant is a talented author, I have been everything from her historical’s to her paranormals and now her contemporary. I love how well versed she is in the various genres and there is something for everyone to enjoy. What I really enjoy about Donna Grant is her talent for story telling. She is the type of author that will always deliver a superb story and My Favorite Cowboy is no different. This is the first time I have read a contemporary romance from Donna Grant. However, this book was fantastic. I really loved the focus being around horses and solving a mystery. I love a good mystery in a romance and I just don’t see it enough and what a well told mystery this one was. There are levels of suspense so it does keep you on the edge at times, but I really enjoyed how the story evolves from beginning to end.

We see in this story though some complexities that I wasn’t even expecting. Both the hero and the heroine have a deep reverence for horses and you see how much horses matter to them. I really liked seeing how these two work together in the end. Our hero is a bit of a bad boy at times though. He did serve in the military and still suffers the affect of PTSD at times. We see what a great bond that he has with his siblings and how much they stick together and help each other no matter the situation. Caleb likes his women though, he always has flings and never has been serious with anyone until Audrey. He looks at Audrey very differently than any other women he has had interest in the past. He has some issues with women though since his mother abandoned her children when they were little. But he trusts Audrey and doesn’t even understand why he looks at her differently but he senses that there is something more to Audrey. Audrey is a very strong and capable heroine but she isn’t one to have casual affairs at all. She is looking for the real thing and willing to wait for it. I love how determined and intelligent she is and how passionate she is about life but most especially about her work with horses. She isn’t one to trust easily but I enjoyed seeing her allow Caleb and his family into her tight circle.

The romance that builds between Caleb and Audrey is sexy and sweet like you would expect from a western romance. Now I love me some hot cowboy lovin’, but this had so much more emotion and intimacy that I have grown to admire about this author. I loved the level of chemistry that builds between these two, but there is also a firm emotional bond that grows with the level of affection and trust and seeing this growth is fundamental to the story. I truly adored seeing Caleb and Audrey come together, they were such an endearing pair and you gravitate toward these two.

There is a focus on the plot and the mystery and danger aspects that had some intensity to the story. I really enjoyed this part and yeah I will admit that I didn’t suspect the villain for quite some time. You see the villain enter the story, but you don’t see that this person is the one responbile for the horses being poisoned more like an added conflict to the story so I was really surprised when everything is revealed in the end and what a fabulous ending to savor!!

Caleb just wants to stick close to his girl, “just know that I’ll be joining you in yours if you leave.” I liked this book,I loved Calrb the man was really rugged.

Audrey and Caleb's story. She is an equine vet and he is a horse rancher. Obviously a good match. Both have abandon issues, that must be overcome, and are dealing with a strange case of animals being poisoned and being targeted to place the blame on her. A good story and mystery and romance, and overall I really enjoyed this one. The end part though was a little frustrating, with him finally coming to her and her not responding. Both fighting their demons, and the book does give them closure, but still frustrating. Still, I would highly recommend this book and author, as I have enjoyed a lot of her work. Fun read.
