What a very amazing read this one was. A paranormal page turner that was captivating and riveting. A story that unfolds without effort giving the reader no time to wonder or be bored! This was truly a work that I will keep. The author is one that creates a movie in the readers mind casting them within as the story unfolds. It makes you believe in fantasy as well as wonderful fairies. This book was a complete show stopper for me. While I enjoy paranormal, I am not one that is riveted to it easily. This has all the wonderful layers you could wish for in any genre as well as having characters and situations that are totally amazing. What a fantastic author! What a superb book! So buy and just enjoy this one.... It is worth it! I was given this Arc via NetGalley. All opinions expressed here are my own. A truly superb read as well as being a fantastic addition to the series. Liam is at peace with his impending death. But there is someone who’s ready to defy all, including the King, to free him. He’s reluctant at first to escape with his rescuer but does so in the hopes of changing Fae law. When he discovers who has risked it all, his heart nearly stops. It’s Princess Abela, the woman who captured his soul long ago, long before he became a Fenian Warrior. They travel the Veil in search of changing history but cannot deny their long-buried feelings anymore. Political allies become enemies but that doesn’t stop Liam. There’s only one being who’ll stop Liam: Abela’s brother. When he finally catches up with Liam, will he thrust his sword through Liam’s chest or will he see the love Liam and Abela share?

From the first page, my heart went out to Liam. Sworn to uphold the law, he crossed the line and did what he thought must be done in order to save a life. His strength is obvious (hello warrior) but what isn’t so apparent is his love for a certain princess. He has a softer side which made me swoon on more than a couple occasions. His inner battle is put to the test when she is ripped from his side. In his grief, he’s lost without her. He does the unthinkable and my heart broke into a million pieces.

Mary Morgan has penned such an emotional fantasy romance, I cried. The journey Liam and Abela must take will tug at your heartstrings. Keep tissues handy.

A moving tale, Trial of a Warrior is a forbidden romance with warring races, treachery and deceit. Twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat as I whipped through the pages. The ending shocked me but don’t worry, there’s a HEA. One of the best books I’ve ever read.

Favorite Character/Quote: “Stone me, flog and strip the skin from my bones, but do not leave me in this pit of despair and silence. I am ready for my death. Let it be done!”

My Rating: 5+ stars

Fae, Dragons, time travel a very enticing entry into a new world by a new to me author. Of course the story is three deep and moves a bit slow with a lot of characters that I might have enjoyed a lot more if I had read the earlier books but all in all I enjoyed this story as a stand alone on its own merits.
Liam has broken a cardinal rule of the Fae and must pay the ultimate price but Princess Abela, has a different outcome in mind. As the two journey thought time and space determined to change the laws that bind Liam to a death sentence we get glimpses into a different world that I'd like to go back and visit in the author's other books.
Abela and Liam had once been friends who had strong feelings for each other. Then Liam became a Fenian warrior and untouchable and Abela became a priestess. That should have been the end of their story but when Liam breaks the rules and finds himself imprisoned and in disgrace Abela sacrifices everything to rescue him. It is almost hilarious as they travel through time and space on their quest to get Liam's sentence overturned an blunder into different situations.
In the background the palace mobilizes a rescue of the princess Abela and Liam might have found that he has inadvertently stepped out of the frying pan into the fire in more ways than one. I am intrigued by the characters and while I would have liked a faster pace I'm planning to get the earlier books in this trilogy as a starting point.

An amazing addition to the Legends of the Fenian Warriors. Those who helped the Dragon Knights and severely broke the law, they are facing death. This story is about Liam MacGregor, one of those warriors, who is now imprisoned awaiting his punishment. Having lost all hope, of all the Fae, Abela, a warrior princess breaks in and helps him escape. Now there is a history between these two from years ago when Liam had won her heart but she knew he did not return her feelings. What? No he really had feelings for her just as she for him.
Now the adventure begins. There were so many strong emotions when so much is at risk, including lives, that I was on the edge of my seat as I turned the pages! Yes tearfully and tense, they face so many obstacles and with Abela needing to return to her people in the Fae Realm. Will she make it back in time or will she too face death?
Another excellent story by Mary Morgan in this incredible world she has created that will engage your senses and leave you ready for the next book in this series!!

Wow, such a powerful and surprising story. This unites both of Mary's series and introduces a new order of Fenian Warriors as well as Dragon Knights. I adore the world of Mary's stories. The quest is epic and loaded with adventure.

Liam MacGregor, the third of the Fenian Warriors who traveled the veil without the permission, is in "prison" awaiting his trial and execution. He is unaware that his brothers have each faced a journey to redemption themselves. Long ago he and Princess Abela fell in forbidden love. He chose the Brotherhood and she to be a Priestess to Mother Danu. Abela won't allow him to die so she uses her powers and frees him from prison knowing both have to run for their lives. Since she possesses Conn's Stone Of Ages she can transport them through the Veil of Ages to accomplish her plan. Unfortunately unknown to both of them each time she moves through time her life fades and she will die in the human realm if she stays. Her plan is to amend the Feahan Treaty to allow the Warriors to transport others in emergencies that will remove his death sentence. Their quest it to collect all three copies of the treaty in the human realm and present them to the Fae Council for amendment. Such an epic journey and we visit with old friends from previous books. We discover there's a traitor on the Fae Council, a purist Tulare, and a new bloodline of Dragon Knights emerging in present day. In Mary's capable hands this story is expertly woven and epic with delightful adventure. Thank you Mary and Wild Rose Press for the opportunity to review this book.

Liam and Abela's story was enchanting. Liam MacGregor is the last of the Fenian Warriors who were awaiting their trials for disobeying important rules. He is in a reflection prison, which he cannot escape from. He has to wait until the council is ready to deal with whatever punishment they decide for his fate.

Priestess Abela comes to rescue Liam, but at the time of his rescue, he cannot see her features. She has much to lose, but she is determined to save him.

These two have history and years of being apart. In this story, we discover their hearts and the disturbing evil that lays in wait. This was a magnificent journey to be a part of. This is book 3 in the series.
