When I first saw that this book was going to be out I couldn't wait. I have always been curious about Erith and was excited to read the story of Erith and Cael. Everyone should give this one a read. Even if you haven't read the other Reapers books you will love this one. I am so thankful that Donna Grant shared this story with us. It was such a great read and I know I will be going back to read it again!

very good story. interesting. sexy.. real.. it was so much fun to read. i enjoyed it. this series is a lot of fun to read.. it has so many awesome paranormal aspects. i love seeing new ones haha

Dark Alpha's Awakening by Donna Grant is book 7 in the Reaper Series. This is the story of Death/ Erith and Cael. I have read the previous books, so that added to my enjoyment of this one.
Cael is in charge of the Reapers who fall under Erith who is 'Death'. Cael and Erith dance around their feelings but there has always been 'work' between them and their goals. Now a former Reaper is taking her strength to advance a war that has been brewing through the books. Cael steps up his game and his feelings. This is a very exciting series that keeps you turning the pages.

Dark Alpha's Awakening is the final book in the Reaper series. You should know that the author decided to leave some loose threads since the Reaper and The dragon kings series are interconnected. Still, the end was very satisfying and proper for the series. The author kept the best heroine for last and we finally got Death's story! As you all know, Bran has been stealing her power for quite some time now and that kept making her weak and I was very afraid for her fate. She is questioning her life so far and learn a lot about her. Her changing views settled on what she wanted to do with the rest of her life in case she defeated Bran and I liked their direction. I would have liked to see the main characters from the previous books have a more important role in the story because I feel like they were left out.
The story had some unexpected turns and one was particularly worrying and it was jaw-dropping. The book some sad and some very happy moments as it was to be expected, even though I wished for no sad scenes.
The book was good and I liked the main characters. There was a spark between them and I was expecting their story for quite some time and I was happy with the ending result. I am looking forward to the next Dragon King book because the book ended with a cliffhanger of sorts and I need to know what happened to that one particular character.

The final battle is finally here, right ahead of us! Erith and Bran will clash once again in the grand fight. Who will win? Light or dark one? Good or Evil? Everything can change nothing is decided yet.
I had not expected this kind of story for Erith and Cael - it was heart-wrenching in some parts, but this shows that Reaper series has a lot of layers!
It was a really good read!

What a satisfying ending to this series. I know that the Reapers will in more books but this part of the series is over with this book. The love with have been waiting for finally happens! Bran is finally dealt with. Some interesting things happen with other Fae that we all know. I think Donna did a fantastic job putting everything together in this book. We get resolution on a lot of things. As we know this is not the end for the Reapers so I will be so interested to see where this story goes now.

Dark Alpha's Awakening is the long awaited Cael and Erith story. Donna Grant always spins a wonderful tale. In each of the previous Reaper books, the chemistry between Cael and Erith has been evident. I loved this story. Cael is so strong and his refusal to let Erith give up is heartwarming. This book evoked tears - sad and happy. The Reapers work with Erith to finally confront Bran. Not going to spoil that outcome, but looking forward to the remaining Reaper stories & how strong the teams will now be with Death back and better than ever with Cael at her side. The end of this book had me clapping and excited for the next reaper book. The royal battle with the Kings and Queen of the Light is looming -- I can't wait for all the characters Ms. Grant has created In this world fight against the crazy queen.

If you haven't read any of the Reapers books I highly recommend them. The world building of these novels also intersects with the authors Dark Kings novels featuring dragons.
So in this Reapers novel it features Death (Erith) and Cael one of the lead Reapers. These two have been dancing around one another, romantically, for years. Though neither have acted upon their attraction. What good would it do for Death to fall in love with one of her Reapers? Conflict of interest wouldn't you say?
Their attraction is quite obvious in all the other Reaper novels I've read. I've often thought they should just get on with it already! :-)
As the Reapers are tracking down one of their own (Bran) who's gone to the "dark side," if you will. Erith and Cael are devising a plan to help keep Bran's focus on Erith and make everything right in their world again. Lots of changes happening here. You need to pay attention!
I mean it. Pay attention. Lots of action, in this novel, you need to keep up with. I enjoyed reading this edition of the Reapers. Seriously, it's about time Erith and Cael made time for each other! I'm one happy reader with them getting their HEA!

Dark Alpha’s Awakening (Reaper, #7) by Donna Grant. Ohhh maaan! Have I been eager for this one? Yes! Finally, Cael and Erith. Cael pledges his eternity to serving the Reapers and vows to follow and mete out justice for Death putting aside his feelings for eons. Eons! Erith is known by many names; Mistress of War and Death. These two intricately tango around feelings as immense as mountains. As Bran strikes to overcome Erith, ultimately weakening her by leaching her powers, Cael makes his move and shows her what it means to love fully and unconditionally. This story definitely lives up to my expectations and the anticipation surrounding it. The ultimate battle leads up to the demise of evil and all the mystery surrounding Erith’s past comes to light. As usual, the writing is fluid and flawless which makes it flow well. And because the Reapers and Dark Kings novels are interlaced, we get to see so much more of this world. This girl is happy! I highly recommend reading this book as well as the series just to get the full effect of the story in its entirety.

I absolutely love this series! Donna Grant writes such a in depth story that connects different series of hers. This book was exciting and binge worthy. With romance that does not distract from the intricate world of the fae and dragon kings. A must read!

Dark Alpha's Awakening is book 7 in the Reaper series by Donna Grant and boy is it a good one. I have been enjoying this series and yes I love this book as much as the others.
This story got me hooked from the very beginning and I just couldn't put it down. It is so darn good.
I give this 5 out of 5.

Another wonderful story from Ms Grant, this is not only exciting but is captivating and hard to put down, the writing is brilliant and kept me entertained.
I received a copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion

Three stars
I didn’t realize this was part of a series and was very lost for a while but eventually got into the groove of the story. Unique characters.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

There is a war. Death is tired of killing Fae. There are multiple battles. More Reapers appear. The bad guy dies. This was not my cat-nip.
2 Stars

Dark Alpha's Awakening (Reaper, #7) by Donna Grant ....Why can I give this only 5 stars? Thank you so much to the publishers and #NetGalley for letting me preview this book. Donna Grant outdid herself with this one...Cael(Reaper ...keeps his feelings hidden for Death(Eirth) and she denies hers) This story has so many twists and turns you can hardly catch your breath. Some light moments, and I'll admit I shed some very ugly tears at one point, violence, treachery, loyalty and steamy sex all getting us to a very HEA...but leaving open some questions to be answered in the next book.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Page-turner Romantic Tear-jerker Witty Great world building Action-packed Entertaining Unpredictable Happily Ever After Wonderful characters Steamy Easy-to-read

Hours of nail-biting excitement! I wasn’t sure what to expect from Erith and Cael. They’re both so closed off. But they sure put on a good show!
It all comes down to defeating Bran. But at what cost? You’ll agree that it’s 5 stars worth of entertainment. But I must have more!

Finally! I’ve been waiting for the Erith/Bran showdown for-freaking-ever and it did not disappoint. This was everything I wanted it to be with action galore, lots of feels, and some sweet sexy times.
Erith’s story held some surprises that I in no way expected. It was heartbreaking and answered so many questions I had and some I didn’t know I wanted answers to. Her character arc was amazing, and she ended up being someone with one hell of a redemption story.
As for Cael, I don’t think there has ever been a more loyal, steadfast, and heroic hero. He laid it all on the line not only for his Reapers, but for Erith as well. He checked all my boxes. I’d wondered how he’d be alpha enough to be paired with death herself and not get overshadowed, but goodness me, he proved he was.
This was an action heavy book, with lots of intrigue and a little heartbreak. The romantic aspects took a backseat to the war between the Reapers and Bran but this didn’t bother me at all.
I thoroughly enjoyed Dark Alpha’s Awakening. It was one of those books that had me so engrossed; I picked it up every chance I could, even if it was only for a few moments. This was definitely worth the wait, well, except for that cliffhangerish ending. One war down and one just beginning. I can’t freaking wait to read what comes next!
Rating: 4.5 Sexy, Sweet, and Action packed Stars

I’ve been waiting for Erith’s story!! So happy to see her find her HEA. But then on the flip side that means that the final battle, with The Dragon Kings, is coming closer.

The ultimate battle unfolds…
This is the seventh book in the Reapers series.
Who is the woman known as Death? To the Reapers, she’s known as Erith, judge of the Fae race. But is she Fae? Was she the Mistress of War as suspected? We have been tantalized with tidbits of her story, here we finally learn where she came from, what she’s capable of, what drives her, and what she yearns for. A crossroads has been reached, the crescendo that’s been building reaches culmination.
A solution must be found to stop the drain of Erith’s essence if she is to destroy her enemy to save the very fabric of existence, the battle between Bran and Erith is one between good and evil in the universe. Erith, who has always been separate from other beings, doesn’t stand alone, those given life after death from betrayal stand with her, they won’t desert her no matter what she orders, she has gained more than their loyalty, the Reapers are a bonded family.
The Reaper Cael, leader of a group of justice bringers, has stood by Death, yearned for her though they could never be as she’s an entity so far removed from the Fae that he is. But where there is Death there is Fate and sometimes Fate has a hand in the final outcome of things, as Erith has grown so does Cael.
I loved this wonderful conclusion to the suspenseful plot that has played out over the previous books, answers were provided, loose ends tied up, ties to the Fae and the Dragon Kings made much clearer yet there is still more to come. Justice has yet to be claimed against one of the Fae, the evilest one.
The characters in this series have so much depth, lightness and darkness are not always exclusive within them and it’s those with redeeming qualities that you feel for the most. The scenes with Balladyn and Xaneth left me wishing for more for them than what they have. Can what was once good be again?
