I was anticipating a good book but this one totally blew me away! I don't want to give anything away because any hints or clues will ruin the last part of the book...trust me, this novel will keep you up late at night and maybe into the hours of the next morning. It's that good!

Told in alternating points of view, Dear Wife is a suspense about a battered wife on the run, her husband who is looking for her, and the detective on her trail.

I review so many books and don't often give out five stars but this one earned it. I love a plot that I haven't seen before and if a book can shock me, even better!

Interesting characters, alternating narratives, confusion, thrills, doubt....it's all there! Great ending....it kept me reading through the night!! LOVED IT!!!! Kimberly Belle continues to deliver!!

Fantastic story! I can't say too much without giving the story away but it was really an excellent book. Each time I put it down I could not wait to get back into it. For some it might be obvious, for others it might be less so, but I for one devoured this book and loved every minute of it. Kimberly Belle has just upped her game - I thought The Marriage Lie was great, and this one is even better!

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved The Marriage Lie by this author and didn't really care for Three Days Missing, so I wasn't sure where this one would fall. I think this was in the middle. There is a woman using the name Beth that is on the run after leaving an abusive husband and there is a woman named Sabine that is missing. The book alternates between Beth's journey and the search for Sabine. I think the issue for me is that around 60% I had the basics of what was going on figured out and while there were surprises at the end that I had not figured out, they weren't big enough to boost this one to a 5 star. Still, there was plenty of suspense at the end and I kept turning the pages, so it was pretty good overall. I look forward to this author's next book.

Thank you so much to the NetGalley, the author, and publisher for an advanced readers copy. The following is my honest review of the book.

EXCELLENT story, perfectly executed.

So well written as far as storyline. I had no idea that the book was going in the direction it did.
Great twist that I didn’t see coming and neither will you!

This is a must read.

Wow, what a story! This is a book that truly is about the unexpected. The characters are written so well that you feel sorry for characters then later in the book you wonder why you ever felt that way.

The story truly speaks to horrible situations that women find themselves in. When you are in an abusive relationship you some times your too afraid to leave and it take courage to try to find a way out. This story captures the frustration and fear a victim feels.

Highly recommend to read.

This has the absolute potential to become a best selling thriller. The book maintains it's intensity throughout and I never felt like there was a lull in the writing. This book reminded me a lot of "The Wife Between Us" in the way it was written with a story line that I was sure I had correct and turned out to be completely wrong, which I should've been able to figure. I thought the whole premise was interesting, very well written, and because I received an ARC, it was difficult to get around with formatting but I know that would be cleared up before print. AMAZING book.

While the thriller part thoroughly worked for me (a promising premise, a great page-turner), the characters didn’t (superficial and stereotyped, especially the supporting roles), and the ending fell short (not to mention too Christian-Fiction-y for my liking).
Nevertheless the momentous twist that I didn’t see coming deserves an extra star for it will surely please lovers of the physiological thriller genre.

This kept me solidly interested. Great story even after the actual story reveals itself...I hate to use the word "twist" because it seems overused and people base their entire experience on if they liked the twist or figured out the twist. So much more to a book than a twist, even when it's a delicious one.

"If my husband doesn't report me missing, am I really gone?"

I don't know!!
Are you really gone?
Who is your husband??
Who are YOU???

Take a shot of Gone Girl with a generous splash of Sleeping With the Enemy and it still won't taste as good as Dear Wife.

From the fabulous cover
to the captivating plot
to the carefully crafted twist
to the fast and to-the-point writing style of Kimberly Belle,
this book is a compulsive read from beginning to end.

4.5 ⭐

Wow! Kimberly Belle came out swinging with this one! I LOVE a twist and this had a big one. In "Dear Wife" we meet Sabine who is missing, her husband Jeffrey who is searching for herb(and also beating her behind closed doors) and a cop named Marcus who is trying to find the missing woman. It sounds so simple, but it was anything but. I love it when I'm reading a book and suddenly there is a shift and everything I thought I knew i was reading turns out to be false.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!

Loved falling into this story. Following the different characters on their journey was so enjoyable. They were written really well, each with their individual characteristics apparent. Have to say, Beth is an amazing woman!!! The end got me- not why I expected, but a fantastic way to wrap up a book I didn’t want to put down! 🙌
Thank you NetGalley for this early copy!

This was a really well written book. I loved the split points of views of the different characters and the story really kept me guessing. It had a satisfying ending and had memorable quotes and actions throughout the story.

Excellent domestic psychological drama with a twist I never saw coming. It does have a bit of disturbing domestic violence, so be aware if sensitive to that kind of content.

Update: I had promised a more thorough review but I'm afraid I may give something away so just know that this does NOT go where you think it is and instead of straining your brain trying to figure it out, just go with the flow.

This is perfect for readers of Catherine McKenzie, Peter Swanson, Shari LaPena, and B. A. Paris.

Kimberly Belle does it again! What an enjoyable read with lots of twists and turns and surprises I never saw coming. Highly recommend especially for fans of Lianne Moriarty.

Dear Wife is about a woman, Beth, who is on the run from her abusive husband. She has it planned out: how to get away, where to stay, and how to keep her real identity hidden.

But what if her husband’s not ready to give up on tracking her down?

Meanwhile a woman from Beth’s hometown, Sabine, goes missing. Her husband, we’re quickly learning, is not exactly a stand-up man. Which may leave us thinking are Beth and Sabine’s disappearances related in some way?

Unfortunately, I saw the “twist” coming early on, but the story was certainly well executed, and I had a firm grasp on each of the characters and their personalities. Beth went on quite the adventure to get to her ultimate destination, and it kept me wanting to turn pages.

I would recommend this book to fans of psychological thrillers and books about strong women!
