I have been rooting for Bonnie and Theo ever since I read Getting Hot with the Scot and I thoroughly enjoyed their story.
It is an easy read and I enjoyed the slow build of their relationship. Theo’s understanding of her needs had me falling in love with him, he is a friend, a shoulder to cry on and a hot partner. I found it to be an entertaining and at times hilarious read.
I have enjoyed both the books in the series and look forward to reading more.

I was so happy to be given the opportunity to read the advance copy of Smitten by the Brit. I had just finished Hot for the Scot which I thoroughly enjoyed. In my review of that book I said that it was perfect as the first book in a series. Little did I know that book two would arrive so quickly. A trip of a lifetime for five friends ends up being a life-changing event for two of the friends. In this book Bonnie discovers that her long-time boyfriend/fiancée has been cheating on her. After breaking off her engagement, Bonnie reconnects with Theo, the attractive man she met in London. Bonnie and Theo both come to realize what is truly important in life. Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to preview this book. I really enjoyed it.

Great characters! The writing style held my attention and the drama that unfolded was witty and romantic.

So far I’m finding this series of books very enjoyable light reads. I may have liked the first book better than this one just for the fun story. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

I enjoyed Cassie and Logan’s story. Bonnie and Theo’s story was even better. So much of the story takes place in England - a place that is on my wish list to see.

So glad that Theo got over his mindset of duty to family to enjoy the happiness he found with Bonnie.

The story, characters, the chemistry between them felt like weak tea. I had expectations to be smitten with the characters but something was amiss.

Bonnie can’t help thinking fondly of her vacation in England. Of course, since her best friend is marrying a man from Scotland & Bonnie is the maid of honor, she can’t help it. She’s also slightly bitter. She’s been with her boyfriend forever & this was supposed to be HER year to be planning a wedding! Then her world fell apart. What’s she going to do now? After catching her boyfriend cheating, she decided to teach in England for the summer.

Theo was captivated by Bonnie when he met her the previous year but all she did was talk about her boyfriend. Theo knew his future was supposed to lead to a marriage of convenience to ensure his family’s estate but he’s really attracted to Bonnie. After she broke up with her boyfriend, he was torn. He can’t lead her on but he can’t stay away either. What’s he going to do?

Heartache, turmoil, attraction & duty - the fight between them comes through the pages clearly. It easily resembles the English stories Bonnie adores but put to modern times. The characters are intense & multifaceted. The attraction between Bonnie & Theo jumps off the page. You can sense Theo being torn between his attraction to Bonnie & his duty to his family & the workers he employs. The descriptions of the countryside they are touring draws pictures in your mind as you read. All in all, this was a comfortable romance to read.

Smitten by the Brit is the second book in Johnson's "Sometimes in Love" series. Bonnie has been with her fiance since they were kids, but their relationship is definitely over when she walks in on him and another women doing unspeakable things on her great-grandmother's quilt. On the summer she should have been planning her wedding, Bonnie takes a leap of faith and across the pond to teach a summer session on her other love - Shakespeare. Adding to the list of things that have turned her world upside-down is Theo.

Theo met Bonnie the previous summer, as they witnessed their two best friends falling in love. The attraction was instantaneous, and now that she's single Theo isn't going to miss his opportunity to explore this unique connection. While what is developing between Theo and Bonnie is probably, definitely love, Theo's obligations as a real-life duke makes it seem all but impossible to live the life he wants with the only woman his heart desires.

This book could be read as a standalone. However, I highly recommend you read the series in order as you will get a lot more enjoyment from the conversations between their friends. Also, fans of Shakespeare and Austen surely find pleasure in the many references to their works in this read.

So I have to start this by saying: I LOVED Logan in the first book, and liked Theo as his friend. They had an excellent bromance going. But more Theo has me loving the Brit as well! He is a sweetheart of a guy, and strong-willed, loyal, with the perfect amount of cheeky.

Bonnie was a nice match for him. She's a mix of strong feminist and old-fashioned, loving Jane Austen and Shakespeare. I admit that, at first, some of her "Don't treat me like a weak female" hangup felt over-the-top, but it paid off well with the arc of her character. Her vulnerability really helped to round her out, especially towards the beginning half.

The inclusion of the characters from the first book was great, and I felt like they were worked in pretty seamlessly. I would still recommend reading Hot for the Scot before this one to get backstory, but that isn't exactly a hardship since both books are fantastic!

I'd say that my favorite thing about this book, and the first, was that the issues felt like genuine issues with a bit of serendipitous whimsy to make it interesting. The characters' problems and interactions feel almost like real life.

I loved this book! The characters were fun and the story kept my interest. I kinda wish it was part of a series so I could have more!

Catching her fiance in the act of cheating, Bonnie accepts a summer teaching job at Cambridge which is only an hour away from Theo, best man to be at her best friend's wedding. Impossible to ignore the sizzling chemistry between the two and not wanting to start a new relationship, Bonnie is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Unknownst to her, the sexy Brit is exactly who he says he is and that twist itself could prevent them from their own fairytale ending.

Unshockingly, it was quite easy to know how Bonnie's relationship with her then finance Gabe was going to end. Typical route of ending an old flame to ignite a new one. Moreover, I almost flew off my chair by how quick Jason admitted his attraction to her the day after the redhead ended her decade long relationship with her middle school sweetheart and just as quickly Bonnie was ready to jump his bones after another chance encounter. It just scream desperate. It just was wham-bam and it was instant. Where was the build up? Where was the sexual tension? This series just wasn't for me and as much as I appreciate the ARC, I dropped this by chapter 12 at 35%.

Loved Getting Hot With the Scot so of course I had to find out what happens with Bonnie, Cassie's best friend with whom she travelled to Europe. Theo is Cassie's fiance's best friend and when he meets Bonnie in the first book. she's a little chill to him. Of course, she's engaged and waiting for her long time boyfriend to pop the questions.

In Smitten by the Brit, Beth finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her for a year when she walks him and sees him with his girlfriend doing the dirty deed. She immediately breaks up with him and goes to stay at a fancy hotel until she decides what she should do next. Theo happens to be in town also - and at the same hotel - on the same floor.

Bonnie has a difficult time letting go of her anger and she is also jealous of her best-friend's impending nuptials
Theo is struggling to do the "right" thing for his family, who are in dire financial straits. But he wants Bonnie - badly.

The author beautifully includes all the characters from the first book while creating a story for Bonnie and Theo. Highly recommended..

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Like the first in the series, not only do you have the couple to enjoy, but the friendships and family relationships add a lot to the story as well.

I enjoyed the slow build of the relationship between Theo and Bonnie. After meeting as acquaintances in the first book, they reunite and develop a friendship, and eventually a romance that Theo allows Bonnie to set the pace of. The interactions and sexiness between them were realistic and enjoyable. The only disappointment I did have as a romance lover was that as far as the relationship went by the end, the words "I love you" were never spoken by either. Luckily, their other words and actions definitely conveyed their feelings.

Additional to the development of the relationship, I loved that the reader gets to see the growth of the characters individually. Bonnie is offered a job opportunity that gives her time to be on her own and connect with what really made her happy. Theo reevaluates his choices and priorities so that he can live his best life. Seeing them improve their own situations in addition to finding love gave added depth to the story.

I highly recommend this book (as well as the first) and I look forward to the installments still to come.

Although I liked this second entry in the series better than the first, I still feel a bit of a lack of chemistry between the heroine and hero. Bonnie and Theo say all the right things, but I'm just not feeling their connection as much as I should. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed all the literary references, and who doesn't dream of teaching a summer course on Shakespeare at Cambridge? I liked enough about this book to continue to give this series a try.

The perfect laugh out loud romantic comedy that had me laughing and smiling the whole way through reading this book. Loved it. Full of warmth, fun and feel good factor, is what everyone needs to have on their reading devices. New to this author but definitely be coming back for more. One to look out for in the future. Totally recommend

This was super cute! It was my first time reading this author. Tbh, I think this is part of a series, but I didn’t have any problem following along. I loved Theo - he was such a dreamy hero. And I also loved the twist that he is a modern day duke!
Bonnie is just adorable. And I loved all of the supporting characters, especially theo’s sisters!

Wanted to love this one, but it was pretty mediocre. Missing the talent of creating spark, tension and anticipation without the constant in your face crudeness.

The plot line was ok, but nothing that felt original. The constant on then off broke the flow in Bonnie & Theo's relationship.

It was overall OK, not my favourite.

Okay, the moment when Bonnie meets Theo in Getting Hot with the Scot, I just knew I needed their story. Smitten by the Brit did NOT disappoint. Bonnie is always spouting off Shakespeare and Austen, which makes me love her even more. She's been with the same guy since she was just a little girl, and she cast him, her best friend, and herself in the roles of Anne of Green Gables. She's a total book nerd, which I'm sure many of us can relate to. She is just so sweet, yet strong, and I really enjoy that in a female character. 

Don't even get me started on the dashing and chivalrous Theo. Just kidding, I definitely want to talk about one of my new book boyfriends. We got a peek at the amazingness that is Theo when he helped Cassie in Getting Hot with the Scot, but man you really get to see it in this story. He is just always trying to do what's right. But he does get to experience the saying, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." Will he completely screw everything up, that question is exactly what kept me sucked in to the very end. 

And did I mention Theo's sister helps Bonnie plan a hen party, which ends up being Harry Potter themed?! YES, this book is THAT AWESOME. I already preordered my physical copy, because I need to hold this piece of heaven in my hands.

This was an ok read for me, very light funny book. This is Bonnie and Theo book, Bonnie is just waiting for her fiance to set a wedding date! She's not at all upset that her bestie is getting married ahead of her and her longtime boyfriend to a man she met less than a year ago?! Nope not at all lol she definitely isn't thinking about the hottie blue eyes Brit best man?! When her jerk of a fiance does something shocking she ends their engagement and accept a summer job teaching at Cambridge, only an hour away from Theo lol she definitely isn't looking for another relationship but when the two get together it's to hit to handle !! I do recommend this book it was a funny light read! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

This is the second book in this series and I enjoyed it very much. Especially the settings, this authors does a great job of making you love her background. I also loved the "girlfriends", the secondary characters are what makes this story stand out. I was not to fond of the main character. Again, this series does have a lot of sex scenes. Thanks to Netgalley for letting me read this book.
