This is the first book I read by Melonie Johnson and it did not dissapoint! Few pages in I realised this is second book in the Sometimes in Love series. Although, I didn't read the first book, I haven't had any hard time catching up with all the characters. Immediately, I fell in love with Bonnie and Theo and that's why I couldn't put down this book. I just wanted to know how will they end up together. Also I liked a lot Harry Potter references, the plot that is set in romantic places of England. I would definitely recommend this book to all of you that like to read fun, steamy romance with gorgeous gentleman as the main male character.

I fell in love with these characters in the first book! It was completely predictable that Bonnie would end up with Theo from the moment they met in Book 1. This is a great light beach read!! Some aspects, I struggled with believeability since Bonnie only has a Master's degree, yet Cambridge University wants her to teach there for the summer. Odd, but I suspended reality for the sake of the storyline. Most of the actions from each character was completely predictable. I do have to admit, I was beginning to be bored by the characters and the story. I was engaged enough to want to find out the ending. 

Theo was instantly attracted to the very engaged Bonnie. It took everything he had not to flirt with her while entertaining Cassie's friends so his best friend, Logan can entertain Cassie. 

Bonnie Blythe knew that Cassie Crow would be her best friend from the moment of roll call in first grade. Bonnie lived and breathed books and theatre. Oh and everything Jane Austen and William Shakespeare which is what took them to England on their trip and where Cassie met Logan. It is also where Bonnie struggled to remind herself how very unavailable she is when Logan introduced Theo to their circle of friends. Theo the gorgeous blue eyed Brit with impeccable manners.  Theo, who makes all her girly parts tingle something her own fiance has yet to do. Theo is also the person Bonnie has to eliminate from her memory. Unfortunately, Bonnie will be seeing a lot of the handsome Brit at Cassie and Logan's wedding. Yes, wedding. Bonnie is not upset that she has been engaged for over a year without a wedding date in sight. No, not at all. She is happy for her friend and her happiness. But she's only known Logan for less than six months! Ok, maybe a bit of jealousy is rising...especially over the fact that Logan can't keep his hands off of Cassie. Anyone can feel the sexual tension between Cassie and Logan. Bonnie has never felt that for her fiance--like ever. It's comfortable. 

Theo was instantly attracted to the strawberry blonde in Cassie's circle of friends. He was just doing a solid for his best friend, Logan by keeping the rest of the women entertained. He couldn't take his eyes off of Bonnie even after he was told she is betrothed. Lucky bastard.  The lovely Bonnie is everything that a man could want. When Theo finds out what he douche fiance did...well he wants to join Logan in beating the man to a pulp. Instead he comforts her. Oh and kisses her. How those kisses haunt him. He want much more from her but not until she's ready. Theo is heartbroken when Bonnie doesn't call him after arriving in Cambridge. He goes to her. Theo is hiding a part of himself from Bonnie. He's not sure if they would be able to survive. It doesn't help that his meddlesome mother wants Theo to marry another royal. Theo's heart belongs to someone else and he's not sure if he can even begin a relationship--even a business relationship when is heart is elsewhere.

I really enjoyed this book. It moved quickly and I enjoyed the characters. Although not a big fan of Shakespeare or Austen, I still thought it was a good read.. It offered hope for those who do not have a clear path for their lives and for those who have loved and lost. It was a good story of friendships and honoring those we care about.

I loved the previous book in this series and I loved this one as well. If Logan had me swooning with his ”lass”, Theo had me with ”love”. I suspected there will be a book about them from Getting Hot with the Scot and I was so happy when I saw that yes, the author made him a main character in the next book. So, if you haven’t read the previous book I strongly recommend to read it (just to give you some background) but since both books are stand-alone, it’s up to you if you want to do that.

I don’t really read classics – such as Jane Austen or William Shakespeare – but I have heard of them (I mean, who didn’t? :D) so I do know a little of their works. I’m saying that because this book is filled with quotes from Austen’s books and also from Shakespeare’s. So if you’re a literary geek, an Austen fan, this is your book. Not only does Bonnie talk a lot about books, what is surprising is that Theo knows some quotes too. They are a match made in heaven, I guess.

As I said for the first book, this was fun to read too. I like Bonnie’s loyalty to her friends and her fiancé, but what it did bother me at the moment was that she kept comparing Cassie’s love life to hers – like how could she marry after knowing a guy for a year while Bonnie was engaged for a year and knowing her fiancé for her whole life. I understood where her thoughts came from but at the same time, I was like ”yeah, you mentioned that before please stop”. But at least, she wasn’t like crazy jealous or something.

Theo, on the other hand, was very loyal to his family. He knew he had responsibilities to the family but at the same time, he didn’t know what to do with his feeling for Bonnie. I love how the author included side characters – his sisters, especially Tabitha – to the story.

Like in the previous books in this too I didn’t like that the POVs weren’t separated. I know, I know, it’s a minor detail but I like to know which POV I’m reading. Since the book releases in May I’m sure all these things will be fixed.

Theo was a dashing hero with elegant manners and well, a properness about him that I thought was a cute mannerism. Maybe its because he’s a Duke and the impression of strict rules always lurks in the back of my mind...anyhooo...anytime he was around Bonnie, especially in the bedroom, he shed his proper British self to expose a bit of disheveled naughtiness and hmmm, lol! Then there’s his down to earth personality, the way he acted around his sisters, and his ability to know when to retreat in the face of an upset female...Theo is obviously going down as one of my favorite book boyfriends!

I thought Bonnie was charming and sweet, with an effervescent love of all things bookish-a heroine after my own heart! She took a hard knock in the beginning of the story, but managed to pick up her bruised heart and dust it off, kind of hanging in limbo to see where it would lead her next. Watching her decide, on her own, where to go next with her big heart and her quirky humor was a wonderful journey of self discovery I loved best!

Bonnie and Theo have been eye flirting since book one-Getting Hot With the Scot-like scorching chemistry levels, so I was honestly expecting them to have quick sexy action when they met again, free from previous circumstances, and they didn’t! I’m not saying they don’t have sexy action at all...they do...eventually...and it was sweltering hot...but I was taken by surprised with their sexy game of cat and mouse! Seriously. Forward, retreat, regroup, plan, execute. Both sides actually, and I found it frustratingly hilarious yet very sweet!

I am loving Melonie Johnson’s stories! Her characters are down to earth with a wide range of emotions that go a long way in winning me over to the romances! The problems are relatable, ensuing reactions understandable, and the time frame for the romances are quite reasonable. (Okay, I didn’t even realize I ended all my descriptions with “-able”...)

As much as I enjoyed the first book in the Sometimes in Love series, book two was a different level for me! Smitten with the Brit brought all the elements I love about a well-written romance and whipped them into a fantastic read! Dashing hero, independent heroine, witty banter, silly (and sometimes naughty) humor, a sizzling romance, just a teensy amount of uh-oh’s, and a great circle of friends and family! I could continue blathering on thanks to caffeine and sugar, but I’ll behave! I am super excited to have discovered a new author and learning there’s another book in this series!!!

Readers were first introduced to Bonnie and Theo in the first book of this series. Theo is a British Duke, who is facing grave financial difficulties in hanging onto his family’s property. Bonnie is an American professor of English literature. They met through their noe engaged best friend’s, and realized that they were attracted to one another. However, there was one little problem ... Bonnie was engaged to marry another man. Fortunately for Theo, Bonnie walked in on her fiancé and another woman which led to to call off the engagement. The remainder of the story follows the various trials and tribulations that Bonnie and Theo faced as they tried to figure out their futures.

Really really cute!! I absolutely loved these books! This group of 5 girls are adorable and the two guys keep it all in perspective. Logan is a stud and Theo is the sweetest guy! Great books!

I loved the characters and I loved that they visited some of my favourite areas of England. I especially loved that they went to get Grasmere Gingerbread! 😍

4.5 stars. I quite liked this story, esp as it had the natural progression of feelings in both the ending and beginning of her two relationships. It did move a little slow in parts, with quite a few scenes that focused on interactions with friends, and her dealing with the end of her long term relationship. There was one really funny scene that I greatly appreciated (don't worry there was more than one funny moment in the book). Overall, an very enjoyable story. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

This is the second book in the series and oh, how I loved Bonnie and Theo. These two made this a delightful read and don't get me started on Theo's chivalry, politeness and tenderness because that right there is another thing all together.

Really enjoyable read - the second in this series and the story of Bonnie and Theo. After an abrupt end to her engagement to Gabe, Bonnie is single. So what will happen when she meets up with Theo again.

Hoping there will be more books in this series.
